- Brilliant
- Alvitta is beyond doubt an intellectual genius. She houses a veritable library of information and is constantly learning more. From science, to technology, to magecraft, to politics, to financing, and on and on. Despite her nigh-heretical bent she still considers herself a traditional magus because, while she knows how an internal combustion engine works and could repair it from prior knowledge alone, she simply doesn't give a damn. She holds no passion for anything modern, or anything old for that matter. Seeing all information as just more research to be absorbed.
- Hands-off
- Alvitta's not the kind of person to leap out of her seat and strike up a cause. She prefers to stay in the comfort of home, manipulating, bribing, or just straight demanding others do work for her. She's ambivalent to the affairs of the world, treating life more like a spectator sport than something to take part in.
- Vengeful
- Despite her hands-off attitude, Alvitta does not take a slight sitting down, and will react with unequaled malice should she perceive she has been insulted. While not directly violent (her initial reaction will be as small as narrowed eyes and harsher commentary) she prefers the death by a thousand cuts. Slowly breaking a person financially, socially, emotionally, then leave them a crying heap.
- Cunning
- Alvitta, in true Nassar fashion, never takes the direct path to do anything. This can be a virtue, making her plans and motives highly unpredictable, or it can work against her by creating a needlessly complicated plot where a simple plan would be more than sufficient. Alvitta can choose a goal than analyze a dozen and a half ways to achieve it, picking what is, in her eyes, the best solution.

STRENGTHS: //
A cunning woman with a genius-level IQ, Alvitta knows how to exploit this advantage and outmaneuver the enemy while hardly lifting a finger. She can manipulate events, give false information, trick, befuddle and otherwise wrap any opposition around her finger with nothing but her brain and a few words to Dani.
Her only real spell is a potent piece of work that can level the playing field with even the most dangerous of magi.
WEAKNESSES: //
Alvitta can be far too smart for her own good, and is poor at planning for the unexpected. She is also virtually useless without Dani; as she needs the homunculus' skills to do her work for her.
She is a free agent and must tread lightly lest her machinations start arousing suspicion. She has no allies to back her up and no Servant to depend upon.

MY FAMILY LINE: //
As she was born a Nassar, this one seemed more relevant. Aestling family history can be found on Renard's profile.
The Nassar family, while fairly established at six hundred years old, is broken and scattered across the globe. Family members maintain only loose ties to the head branch situated in Egypt. This has lead to massive dilution of the bloodline and some even whisper (far from the ear's of the Head of the family) that the entire family may fall apart within several decades.
The original plan, begun around 150 years ago, had been to spread the Nassar bloodline far and wide, quantity, not quality was the goal here; and it was believed that if there were numerous possible heirs vying for the family crest, then only an extremely competent magus would be able to take control, giving a boost in power to the family enough to challenge older or more established bloodlines. In true Nassar fashion, the plan backfired spectacularly, with the few promising members producing non-magi children. It became known as the "Missing Generation", where there was so little talent to be found that few bothered to contact the head branch or other families now scattered across the globe. Since then, more generations have passed with little improvement in the bloodline, most members of the newest generation either don't know, or don't care about the "family business". The few remaining competent mages consolidated themselves in Cairo and are attempting to lay out a new strategy, this time focused not on gaining power, but simply surviving.
The Nassar Magi are specialists in Water and air spells, primarily condensation and kinetics, although never particularly famous, their loss in power over the centuries has lead to them dropping contacts with other families and leading into their fade into obscurity.
MY HISTORY: //
Alvitta Mycroft Nassar was born in Cairo, in the main compound of the Nassar family. They knew from very early on that she would be their family's best chance of regaining their former glory. Blessed as she was with a tremendous number of circuits by Nassar standards, and a dizzying intellect. By age five she had mastered three languages, was completing middle-school level mathematics, following the stock market (and secretly beginning her investment plans), and discussing philosophy with the local religious men.
She was confident in her intelligence and assured in he position as the next head of the Nassar family, patiently waiting the day she would be given the crest, and access to the family's hoarded mystic codes (most of which were just pathetic knick-knacks, but there were a few promising items).
She had been a little worried as she grew up, tradition dictated that only a male family member could inherit the crest. However, the rest of the family had lobbied for Alvitta, saying that if a male magus of Nassar blood could not be found when she turned thirteen, she would receive the crest, if only to save the family.
All seemed to be going well, until the very eve of her thirteenth birthday, when she watched as a white-haired young man, thin and dirty, was dragged into the compound. His name was Jeremiah Nassar, from America, and he would receive the crest.
For the first time in her life, Alvitta threw a legitimate temper tantrum. Who were they to bring this American street rat in at the very last second and give him the crest she had earned!? She could feel the pathetic quality of his circuits, fizzing like a weak firefly, compared to her own miraculously inborn talent, hailed as proof of her right of succession by the rest of the family.
Seeing her fit of still technically pre-teen rage, Jeremiah offered her a chance. Defeat him in chess, a game he himself admitted he despised, and he would relinquish the crest. The family head would have none of it, but Jeremiah and others who wanted Alvitta to have the crest talked him down. Alvitta was of course a chess prodigy, and immediately accepted the offer.
Secretly, Jeremiah wanted none of the crest, but the competitive blood in him ensured that his desire to win was far stronger than his will to lose.
The two went head to head, Alvitta white, Jeremiah black. For a while it seemed as if Alvitta had him on the ropes. She knew the best strategies, had studied all the championship moves and techniques, and it seemed victory was assured until, at the very end, Jeremiah turned the tables and proclaimed checkmate in five turns.
The exchange that followed has been repeated by Nassar family members for years as a way of describing the two cousins.
"How...H-how did you do that? I...I was winning!"
"Just something I threw together at the last minute, seems like it worked." *apologetic shrug*
Impossible! What did you use!? I must...I must have forgotten... were you studying Centurini...o-or Mikhail Tal...who!?
Settle down, Alvi. You can't win 'em all.
*Alvitta promptly flips the chess board in his face and storms off*
...Alvitta refused to attend the ceremony when Jeremiah recieved the crest and was given the name "Aashiq Nassar". It had apparently not gone well, he was too old to properly handle the crest and was receiving minimal benefit. But apparently that had been enough.
The one-sided emnity Alvitta felt for her cousin only got hotter. Aashiq tried his best to make amends but found a door in his face at every turn. He invited Alvitta to a few more games of chess over the years, trying to mend bridges. She accepted the game, but it only seemed to exacerbate her malice.
Alvitta has not lost a game of chess since her first against Jeremiah.
By the time she was eighteen she had had enough. She was tired of rigorously abiding to tradition and protocol, when all that had ever gotten her was anguish and misfortune. She didn't care about reclaiming the Nassar's lost nobility, or nobility in general. The aristocracy could rot in their tower for all she cared.
She knew the Nassar family planned to marry her off to some bottom-feeder from the Clock Tower, and she would have none of it. By now she spoke over seventeen languages, could read many more dead ones, debated her way onto the hate list of political contenders and holy men across Egypt, had advanced in mathematics and physics beyond the point her books could teach her, and had acquired a small fortune through nearly a decade of secretly buying, selling, and brokering stocks, amongst a host of other accomplishments.
Leaving only a small note behind, Alvitta left the compound and struck out for England, hoping to find a family that could appreciate her talents.
While tooling about and generally enjoying herself posing as a tourist, Alvitta searched the streets of London for what seemed to her to be a competent magus.
After searching (aka sitting outside fine cafes sipping something expensive) the streets for a few weeks, she found a promising start in a young man with silver hair, grumbling to himself about "Oligarchy" and "spoiled nobles" and "power-grubbing Tower-monkeys".
He seemed like a good place to start.
She must have been quite a sight, a young, shapely, (she made sure to keep her appearance trim and beautiful, if only to fuel her ego and bedazzle the weak-minded) white-haired woman in sunglasses and a tailored blue blouse, black jacket, and black skirt, offering herself up for adoption as a Magus.
It went something like this:
"Pardon me sir, a moment of your time."
"uuuh...okay?"
"My name is Alvitta, I have a genius-level IQ, exceptional skill in magecraft, and a prodigous number of inborn circuits, and I was hoping you could adopt me into a proper family."
"Wait what!?...adopt?"
"That's right. Adoption." *puts on poor orphan face* "You see, I was exiled from my traditionalist, aristocracy-obsessed family and have nowhere to go. I couldn't help but overhear your problems and I think I can help you with them."
"Well...wow, really not something you're asked every day. But...if what you're saying is true..."
*noticeably lights up* " Oh thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this Mr...?"
"Aestlng. Renard Aestling."
"Aestling? It's a good name."
After this rather insipid and utterly artificial display of tragedy and hopelessness. Alvitta managed to finagle her way into the Aestling family through a combination of talent, recommendation by Renard, and the occasional bribe. Some had originally planned for her to marry Renard, but she would have none of it; and convinced them that as an Aestling, she could marry into yet another powerful family to improve the line, and their children could marry back into the Aestling family, or some such nonsense, Alvitta had made it up as an excuse to avoid marriage and, apart from the occasional kind word, ceased her "abandoned orphan" act around Renard. By the time she was officially an Aestling, Renard was all too familiar with her cruel, selfish, and vindictive nature.
Alvitta continued to hone her skills, having no talent for the element of either family, she took up research and practice of her own unique spell, her "Grand Equalizer" as she called it. She also became interested in the family's homunculus, Dani, and spent many hours researching her history and function.
A few years later she learned that the family was planning on sending a delegate to the 6th Holy Grail War in Lucca, Italy.
Alvitta knew little about the past wars, as information was sparse, and saw this as a once in a lifetime opportunity for observation and the gathering of knowledge.
Instead of joining herself, she supported the idea of letting Renard join the war, Alvitta had plans of her own.
The night before Renard flew out to Italy, she offered him a celebratory drink. Her plan had initially been to ply him with drink until he was suggestible enough to offer her Dani. However, before he'd downed his first glass he said:
"Hey, do you mind looking after Dani while I'm gone?"
Alvitta could only respond with stunned silence for a second before nodding her ascent. He began to go on about how the homunculus creeped him out a little, how Alvi (she despised the name but hadn't told him yet) seemed to like her, and how she might take her as a sign of good faith.
It was all Alvitta could do to stop her jaw from hanging open.
When Renard was safely on the plane, Alvitta announced her intentions to take a vacation to the Caribbean with Dani (who was now in on her plans), flew down to Spain, then turned about and flew straight to Lucca.
Alvitta's plan was simple: Dani would track the various servants and masters and, when the time was right, offer Alvitta's services.
Alvitta, now ignoring both her family names and going by "Alvitta Mycroft", planned to be an information broker, offering information for information. Who needs to fight when you have people offering to give you the blow-by-blow for essentially free?
She could learn a lot from this experience, the whole of the world could be changed by this event and Alvi and Dani had front row seats. She could gain impossible knowledge from this war, and maybe, just maybe, get a little bit of revenge along the way.
MY GOALS: //
To observe the Grail War and use her position as "unlicensed consultant" to learn more and profit from it.
[/blockquote]
Dani - The Aestling family homunculus, bound to Alvitta's service. Alvitta uses her as a scout, an in-between, and an advertiser. Gathering information and offering her name to potential clients.
Colt Python - Ornately decorated and fully functional, Alvitta refers to it as her "other Equalizer". Poor as she is with offensive magecraft or physical combat skills, this is what she uses when negotiations have failed. She's not a terribly good shot, but she usually fires it from almost point-blank range into the foreheads of uncouth clients. When you can't have magic inside a field, go with the next best thing.
Alvi's Manor - A large rented complex in Lucca's outskirts. Three stories, five bedrooms, and a small study and private library.
There are a host of other rooms, all furnished to a comfortable Baroque style. The place is somewhat extravagnt, but Alvi has the resources to handle it.
RANK: // N/a
ELEMENT: // Water (ice)/air, though she rarely avails herself of them.
EXPERTISE: //
Genius IQ - First and foremost, Alvitta is as smart as they come. Library of knowledge, photographic memory, almost total recall, and a quick wit, she is not a mind to be trifled with.
Smooth Operator - Alvitta is a businesswoman, detestable as that may sound to many. She knows the importance of having a cooperative clientele, and works to ensure customer confidentiality, security, and satisfaction. When meeting with clients she is amiable and affable. Far more likeable than her usual vindictive and disinterested self.
Information - You want it, she's got it. In an event like the Grail War, good information is more valuable than gold. Alvi relies upon reconnaissance, testimonials, and the word of other clients to act as a neutral broker for the war. Offering information on opponents for the right price: More information.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // 12 prana per 10 circuits. 120 in total.
SPELLS: //
Neutral Ground
Rank: A
Cost: 50
Range: 25m (normal)-75m(Workshop)
Effect:
"The Grand Equalizer", Alvitta's ultimate tool for client cooperation.
A bounded field that denies interaction between Prana in a person's body and Ether in the air, causing spells of any kind to fail to actualize within the field.
Pre-existing enchantments remain if they were cast outside the field, but they cannot be renewed within once they have run their duration. (Alvitta frequently demands a "waiting period" in her study, specifically to address this). Within the workshop, it has a duration of 25 minutes. Outside, it last only 10. It requires a 4-verse chant.
The spell has its ranged increased within Alvitta's workshop, in this case her manor, where she deploys it almost exclusively, usually to meet with a client. Alvitta cannot move her position (although she has freedom of movement in her arms, head and torso) and usually sits in a comfortable armchair in her study, opposite another one meant for the client, the colt revolver hidden in a compartment in the chair's arm.
While Alvitta cannot do anything about Servants, she's very manipulative, and knows how to extort and twist people into the positions she wants them. Try and threaten her? Dani is off telling your secrets to your hated rivals. What she lacks in firepower, she makes up for in brains.

OTHER CHARACTERS: // W1-Aashiq Nassar, Imhotep. W2-Aeneas, Sakurako Tenketsu, Huld (WIP).
MISC. INFORMATION: //
Basically, Alvi is not an active participant, but more of an observer, as well as a living plot device if two people need to meet or someone needs to know something. DOn't know who someone is or where they were? Ask Alvi!
