MY FAMILY LINE: //[/color][/color]
His mother's family the Bakonawa(the family's original name was Anitun before they swapped the family name with the original Bakonawa branch) from Sorsogon, Philippines has a known history of at least 1500 years old and has seen at least 35 generations, it is actually older but the exact age is unknown. Unlike most magi families the Bakonawa family encourage early marriage and multiple offspring. The oldest known pre-Hispanic ancestor of his Salamangkero family tree from his mother's side is the one known as Maria Blanca from the Ibong Adarna, and there are rumors that she was a descendant of diwatas (demi-gods), at least that was told through out the family. Some generations after Maria's death, her's and Juan's descendants both, magi and non-magi, spreed through out the archipelago. Siquijor, Samar, Sorsogon, Leyte, and Manaoag are some of the many areas they settled.
All branches of descendants from both types of families, had in one form or another fought the native monsters, aswang, whenever they tried to attack humans en-mass. Some even had relations with good aswang, those who refuse to do evil onto humans, and mixed into the bloodline.
During the Spanish occupation, the Bakonawa branch of family picked-up some spells from Hispanic Sealing Designated magi who came to study the secrets of pangkukulam and other magecraft of the archipelago, and some married into the family. Some of the descendants were part of the many rebellions that try to overthrow Spanish rule.
When WWII happened and the Japanese took over the Philippines many magi were captured or died trying to fight back and many members of the family died during the Death Marches. The members who survived and were freed, helped the Americans discretely by changing the weather to which that the Japanese soldiers were not used to and some curses which caused a decline in quality of their weapons later in the war. After the war, many magi families declined and many married to non magi to prevent incest.
The Bakonawa family, being from an ancient lineage that stretches as far as them, and after WWII, been recently marrying non-magi, they have an average of 20 Prc and 30 magic circuits for females. The Bakonawa branch were rarely aggressive, using their spells mostly for healing and weather control to help the farmers and fishers of the area they lived in. The main family sorcery trait from being descendants of Maria Blanca is unnamed which allows members of the family to cast Greater Rituals by themselves when normally a large group is needed. The semi-common secondary sorcery trait is called Usog, also called balis, which has members of the family have varying sensitivity to sense those who have mystic eyes.[Usog] (Sorcery Trait)

Effect: [Those who have this passive trait are able to sense those who have Mystic Eyes or similar phenomenas such as Pure Eyes or the temporary versions caused by reinforcement. More common in infancy, more often women retain it into adulthood. Malakas is one of the few male pinoy magi to have the trait.
Infants who have this trait have a smaller radius of 50m, would feel uncomfortable when anyone with mystic eyes would be around. If those who have mystic eyes have any ill-intent the infant would feel a slight fever. If those who have mystic eyes have any ill-intent toward the infant then the infant would wail in pain and have convulsions.
Older holders of this trait have similar anxieties except: if those who have Mystic Eyes are in the area, the holder would feel unwell, but this felling is mostly ignored; if those who have Mystic Eyes have any ill-intent the holder would feel dizzy; if those who have Mystic Eyes and ill-intent toward the individual who has the trait, the holder of the trait would feel deathly ill leading up to vomiting for females, or falling into unconscious or coughing up blood if they try to force themselves to stay conscious for males.
Mystic Eye holders can mask themselves from this in many ways. For infants: by putting body fluid on their finger then placing their finger on the infant's body then run prana into it, from then on the infant would recognize the mystic eye holder as a part of "self" and will not have any anxieties and be immune to the Mystic Eye holder's eye ability.; but if the infant instead had prana flowed into it while being licked by the Mystic Eye holder then that child would be able to track the mystic eye holder if that person is within radius, even into adulthood when more often than not the trait goes away. For the older holders: by exchanging body fluids and flowing prana into the person by a deep-kiss, from then on the holder of this trait would recognize the mystic eye holder as part of "self" and will not have any anxieties and be immune to the Mystic Eye holder's eye ability, but if the kiss is too long then the holder of the trait can track the mystic eye holder within the radius; but if instead exchanging body fluids and flowing prana into the person by sexual intercourse, the person can track the Mystic Eye holder even outside the radius as long as they are on the same planet Earth in the same universe. What is referred as "immunity" is different from the natural resistance of magi or those who have Magic Circuits, that it does not need the holder to flow prana through their circuits to reject the abilities of the Mystic Eyes, it does not extend to those abilities that affects the physical world such as the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.]
His father's family are normal non-magi but have a history of working with pinoy magi when fighting against aswang and other humans. Malakas' great-grandfather from his father's side met and received a clothing type agimat from his great-grandfather from his mother's side which protected him when fighting in WWII. Most of the family of his father's side were in the military in one way or another.
MY HISTORY: //
I was born into a marriage between a Salamangkera magus, my mother from the Bakonawa family, and my father, a non-magus, I am the heir to both families. To be honest, I think my cousin Maganda Rachel Makiling Bakonawa who was born the same day as me but 1 second later, who has 32 magic circuits and a quality of 25 PrC, a total of 800 prana, should have been the one to inherent the Thaumatugical Crest, but she was surprisingly deathly incompatible with the Crest due to a strange mutation in her genes.
I was born in the U.S., then moved and raised in the town of Manaoag, in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. Like most pinoys, raised in a loving family environment with the exception of learning magecraft and some martial arts.
I learned many branches of pinoy magecraft which include: potions; healing; curses; rituals; spells; pressure points; biology; herbology. The martial arts which I learned are eskrima and modern military combatives.
At the age of 6 I found out the greatest thing in the world, video games. I have yet to find anything else more glorious than games. Taking time from daily exercise of magecraft and body I mastered accelerating my arms and my thought process to be able to play multiple games at once.
When I was 14, I was practicing a consciousness transference spell and accidentally swapped minds with a girl in Japan. She was an heiress to a very old wealthy family with connections to various businesses. (More information on how it happened on her NPC profile. hint: involves deamons)
My family and I, over the phone, were able to calm her down when the switch was discovered. We agreed to try to live out each others lives until my family finds a way to return our selves to the correct body without her parents finding out. We got to know each other from calling each other over the phone updating the situation of the state of each other's lives were living out.
My experience was, interesting to say the least. Her sister was pregnant and when she went into labor, her family was unable to get to any medical facilities or get a doctor to come to the mansion. It was a good thing I was trained as a manghihilot and was able to deliver her baby successfully. When her family asked her (me in her body) where she leaned how to be a midwife. She (I) told them from watching T.V. They believed it because I inadvertently exercised my own traits through her body while we were switched before the delivery. During this time, although I'm not completely sure, I thought I felt prana flowing through Magic Circuits within her (the body of the girl I swapped with). I shook the feeling off as an impossibility.
Both of us lived out each other's lives for a month and when we swapped backed, we erased and adjusted her memory of the events. To be honest, I thought I would never see her again but when I went to visit some relatives in the municipality of Pagudpud I discovered that her family had a summer home there.
I don't think we successfully adjusted her mind, because when I did meet her again she was dressed in boys' clothes, speaking and acting boyishly, not that it was a bad thing. We became friends (again, because we erased her memory she does not remember we already became friends during the swap) during my visit.
When I turned 15 my parents and I made a deal that if I stopped playing video games and concentrate on my magecraft studies for an entire year, my parents would buy me all the video games that would come out while I was studying and the year after.
While I was studying I came up with hypotheses of magic controlling sub-atomic particles and their relation to the zeroth dimension and the Five Magics.
When I turned 16, the deadline of the deal with my parents ended. I pushed all other thoughts, including the hypotheses I came up with, to the back of my subconscious and enjoyed my games. After the party ended, I discovered that we were out of milk, I set off to the store to replenish our food stock.
On the way back I started to feel ill and fell unconscious, as if there was multiple mystic eye holders with ill intent toward me. Which is strange because mystic eyes(most of them are the mystic eyes of whisper) are extremely rare in the Philippines having an average of 0-2 holders within a 1km radius, and that is including the remaining aswang population both humanoid and bestial (the number of registered human population is over 91,983,000 with a density of 300,000/km2).
When I came to, I discovered that a collar was placed around my neck. I tried to remove it but it was seamless, which was weird. How did it get on me on the first place? Then I tried some of my spells but was stopped mid-casting when the collar constricted. When I returned home I asked my relatives to check on it, they analysed it and told me the gist of what it is.
As I laid in bed, I was in a daze on what to do. On one hand I could have more time to play my video games because I barely take my magecraft studies seriously in the first place, but on the other hand someone forced this on me and I don't like things forced on me for no reason, that and the fact that it chocks me and could decapitate me. These thoughts raced through my mind as I drifted off to sleep.
As I slept I think somehow the collar gave me one of those precognitive dreams. Except that it was multiple visions at once that I could not comprehend them all. All of the visions had this in common: a city, monsters, death and destruction, a war that should not have come to pass but was inevitable, and the object that is the center of it all. I also had multiple visions of my own death in the city, strangely most of them involving females. Which is weird now that I think about it. Shouldn't it be the monsters that I saw would be the most likely candidates that could kill me there?
At the end I heard two voices, one telling me to go to the city of Lucca, Italy and the other to never go there. The first voice told me that I could find out how to get this collar off me there, and the second voice told me that I would only find [ ] there. It seems that something was force onto me again but this time I had, albeit limited, choices, 'Go' or 'No'. It did not even take a second, according to my internal clock, for me to make the decision to Go, in hindsight I should have been more cautious. The instant that I gave my answer, from the darkest depths, writing came before me citing the 'Heaven's Feel'/'Holy Grail War' of Lucca and how to summon a Servant.
10/11/26 03:04:30 PHT, I suddenly woke up in a cold sweat, no thats not right, I woke up to an unusual cold snowing pre-dawn in Manaoag. Wait a moment, snow in Manaoag? It seems that I inadvertently casted a spell while I was asleep. There was frost all over my room and the snow outside was already 1'6" high.
06:00:00 PHT, I told my parents about the vision I had. They were very much against it but after talking a bit more they relented and allowed me to go on the condition that only after I train more in magecraft and combat in order to protect myself. I agreed and starting from 10/12/26 to 12/23/26 I studied and trained, albeit with some difficulty with the discovery of what spells the collar restricts and that depending on the moon phases my prana count drops. My close and distant cousins from all over the Philippines helped me during this time and taught me their spells and theories, especially Maganda who was with me nearly everyday.
I took a break during Christmas time up until New Years. As presents I received clothing my mother made during the time I was training, the newest version of the PDS, and an international license. My parents told me that my distant relative Mary Baby Bathala Smith and her husband John Jacob Guico Smith, who lives in Lucca, for 3 months would be going around the world to places such as Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil to visit relatives and that they are leaving me their residence, Villa Cheli estate, to use and the keys and documents for transferring schools and ownership of their house/clinic and uncle John's Customized Ducati Multistrada 1200 are in a safety deposit box in a bank when I get there.
I left for Lucca on New Years Day at 12:00:00 PHT, most of my relatives who were able came to say farewell until I return with the exception of my cousin Maganda, I did not see her within the crowd. As we, the other passengers and I took off, I thought about my situation. When I do get to Lucca, what should I do? Should I: A) Just go around and do what I can, or B) Participate in the war and become a Master. If I do become a Master, how should I summon a Servant? Should I: A) Don't use a catalyst, or B) Use the family heirloom, the Agimat, as a catalyst. If I do use the Agimat as a catalyst, who should I summon as a Servant? Should I summon: A) Maria Blanca, a Caster Class Servant, by using the Agimat and a large body of water, i.e. a lake, or B) Juan, a Rider Class Servant, by using the Agimat and a Piedras Platas tree. These questions and more ran through my mind as we flew to Italy. With so many unknown variables, how am I suppose to survive and find a way to get the collar off me. Oh well, I guess I'll find out when I get there.[/color][/color]

- His custom clothing are enchanted and made by his mother, all of of the different abilities are literary woven in as the stitchings in microscopic writing. It protects him from 10 bullets (5.56 NATO rounds would be 1 bullet count, a .50 Cal round would be a 10 bullet count) each piece (protecting his upper body from 20 round and his lower body 10 rounds, but will still feel the impact) through reinforcement and grants limited camouflage through mirage if he is viewed at least 300 meters away with the naked eye. Cost 10 prana a piece or 30 prana worn as a set a day to maintain the power of the abilities. If no prana is provided when they are put on, they are just normal clothes. Bullet count resets after 24 hours after the last time the clothing was put on and prana flowed into them.
- Overcoat: Has the family crest sewn on, different from the Thaumaturgical Crest, this denotes that the wearer is a descendant of Maria Blanca. The crest is based on the stitchings that Maria made as a self portrait and trying to write the name she adopted (Juan her husband, at the time he met her, could not pronounce her real name and called her Maria Blanca instead because it sounded similar) with the characters of her husband's native writing system, unfortunately she smushed her name in the middle. Her husband still liked it and it has been the family crest since.

It is based on the clothing versions of an Agimat, but is a weaker version. The fully enchanted versions would protect against 1000 bullets and melee even parts of the body not covered by the clothing, full invisibility, enhances natural abilities, and generate 100 MV of electricity around the body of the wearer, but it requires the wearer to eat enchanted mud to ground their bodies.- An Agimat, this is his supposed ancestor Maria Blanca's amulet mystic code from from the Ibong Adarna, contains many spells from the pre-Hispanic time. Malakas is unable to fully utilize it due to lack of knowledge and the lack of the scripts, and he just holds on to it because it is a family heirloom. Can be used a catalyst to summon Maria Blanca or Don Juan and is originally their shared Noble Phantasm. There have been other users before and after them.
- Guillotine collar: a collar that was forced on to him when he turned 16, after he was knocked out. It is a seamless collar with a hint of purple, glows red when constricting. It prevents him: from using pangkulam and most of his spells; his Thaumaturgical Crest which is embedded inside his body near his 7th cervical vertebrae; and restricts his prana depending on the phase of the moon by converting his od into prana then converting the prana into mana to be dispersed into the environment hourly on the 59th minute, 1/24 of what it takes that day each hour, but he does not know about the mana because he almost never uses mana mixing with his od to cast spells:

Using any pangkulam or more od prana than what is allowed on the moon phase will cause the collar to constrict. Estimated by his relatives that 10 uses of restricted spells and/or over use of prana when not a new moon a day, would result in asphyxiation then decapitation. The usage count resets at midnight, resynchronizing with the time zones. At the same time the count resets, it takes mana from the environment and converts it into od that goes back into his body, in other word prana regeneration that is faster and more efficient. The collar acts more similar to a curse and demonic possession bounded around his neck. For compensation it warns Malakas when there are beings with intention to do harm but not in a specific direction within a 150m radius, restores od at midnight faster and more efficient than normal prana regeneration, and prevents effects of other curses on the wearer.- PDS (Play Digital System): games on hand

- Mahal: A Kris enchanted to be able to move on its own volition to help Malakas fight if it ever separated from him. Malakas can control it remotely if he calls out it's name. Even though it says enchanted, it was forged without any magecraft but instead had an extremely rare occurrence, a 1 in 1,000,000 chance, of an apparition becoming part of it as it was made. A kris tells it's true name and forms a "soul link" with a wielder of it's choice who sleeps with it, it brings misfortune to those who are not compatible with it. It's more like a familiar with its own soul (such as "Nanako" The Seventh Hoy Scripture, or Len) who choses it's wielder. It also has abilities similar in concept to Black Keys, without the shadow pinning.

Effect: Limited control over the temperature, air pressure, and the humidity of an area. Controls the vectors (vibration speed, rate of movement, and direction) of the air molecules and the amount of water molecules in the area. The type of weather available to cast would depend on the region and the likely-hood of that type happening and makes it happen. Similar in idea to cloud seeding without man-made chemicals. It is not the only spell in the Philippines that has the name; the name comes from the fact that the term "cloud seeding" was not made at the time it was created and it was closes naming they could define it.
This spell is a weaker version based on the power Maria Blanca used to threaten the kingdom of Verbania (in one of the early writing systems of the Philippines, Baybayin, the character for the letters 'b' and 'v' is the same, so the more common known English spelling as Berbania in the Ibong Adarna is also accepted (the relationship between the ancient kingdom and modern Verbania, Italy is sharing the name)) when the officials of the kingdom declared that Princess Leonora had priority on marrying Don Juan.
1/3 of the "natural" disasters that happened in the Philippines were caused from the previous generations, before Malakas was born, botching up practicing the spell. Malakas or other casters have to know either where to place the center of the storm or where it starts to form, they do this by studying maps of an area before they cast.
Examples of weather conditions that can be called forth is below but the exact chance of the desired one is 10%, the chance for a different one is 15%, and the chance for nothing happening is 75%:
- E rank would slightly change the temperature and humidity at most a breeze, haze, mirages, and mist. A variant uses condensation on his glasses and controlling the water and air molecules in order to bend light waves to see far away or magnify an area.

[The spell controls the vectors of the air molecules surrounding the magus, concentrates then to an area, moves them rapidly which increases the temperature, and ionizes it till plasma forms. This spell is a bounded field type that has 3 variants, although all 3 do the same thing: collect a lot of gas molecules and atoms in the area to at least two fields; agitate them; and redirect the product to another place (the plasma as a whole might seem to be in one place, but the individual atomic and subatomic particles are always moving within it). C rank surrounds an object (i.e. part of a weapon) in a plasma aura, B rank surrounds the user in a golden plasma aura, and A rank compresses the plasma then sends it one direction as lightning.
In the C rank version, the object (a weapon) or part of it is cloaked in 3 bounded layered fields and 4 bounded fields that act like inversion and capping inversion layer fields between them:
- the 1st layer, the inner layer, is a rotating 0.5 cm dense air pocket buffer through the centrifugal force protects the object from the extreme heat;

This version of the spell originates from an ability that some agimats have taken to the extreme.
In the A rank version, it gathers the surrounding air into a bounded field and agitates it till plasma forms, then separates the positive and negative particles into at least 2 bounded fields in the space of the spherical 1km radius available. Mentally the caster has to coordinate the bounded fields to the targeted areas: the primary source of the discharge and the targeted area(s) down to twelve digit grid coordinates, 43digit grid coordinates within a 1km radius of the spherical area of influence. The first field releases it contents, and trying to find balance the electrified plasma goes to nearest strongest opposite charge, in this case the other field. Because the spell already gathered most of the air in the area in order to make it form, the air resistance, that would normally make lighting, a type of plasma, fork while traveling as it strikes, is near zero. This version acts like a supercharged version of Chain Lightning.]

Takes control of vectors of air molecules, compresses them together, then rapidly decompress, causing a concussion of air in an area. The spell can be used underwater and acts like what an enhanced version of what alpheidaes (A.K.A. the pistol shrimp or the snapping shrimp) can do, the user has to move parts of their body together like snapping fingers or a clap while the part of the body is underwater as well.
Malakas, if he can analyze any spell of the opposition quickly and precisely, he can counter, intercept, disrupt, and/or neutralize it by discerning where, when to place, and how many bursts are needed after the opposition's spell has been casted. As long there is prana, Malakas can use this spell almost as much as he wants although he still has to say the chant each time for every single burst, he would be out of breath before running out of prana, in other words he can use it 10-15 times in rapid succession before running out of breath and has to wait at least 1 minute to calm down before casting it or other spells again. He can also use this spell to augment his fighting by casting at the moment before or after hitting the opposition with any part of his body or weapon. The spell can also be used to increase jump height quickly by detonating it beneath the soles before or after the jump by hitting it against himself (it may do some damage). He can also increase his normally abysmal running speed by detonating it from behind and hitting himself as he runs.
