FULL NAME: // Caren Ortensia
APPEARANCE: //
INFORMATION: //
Youngest out of the three siblings, Caren was blessed with a brother and a sister as she was born into a family of magi. She led a sheltered childhood with little time to spare as she was thrust into early education as soon as she could speak. As much as she loved the company of her siblings she was prohibited from leaving the mansion whilst her brother and sister spent their youth playing in the fields with the other children, lonely she was but it was for her own good as decreed by her parents for the girl possessed some abnormal symptoms of being prone to injury. It was as though if it were a curse as her parents learned in time, their beloved daughter would come home with horrible injuries at times from unknown causes. Thus for her own safety she never left the mansion which became her very own prison. Her father searched hard and wide for a cure to her neverending curse but his efforts were in vain. Some deducted it wasn't a curse but a special psychic ability of sorts while others strongly suggested that this was a form of christian stigmata. The girl grew innocently and as she matured into her teens, her father concluded his research having found no cure for his daughter.
For 14 years since birth she has dutifully accepted her life imprisonment inside the family mansion, shutting herself away from the world and living her life through books. Her lifestyle shaped her into the young woman she is today, a shy introverted girl that suffers from bibliomania, often preferring the company of books over people. She went to extreme lengths to hold onto and finish reading something she has started and has often skipped on meals. Instead of seeking for a nonexistent cure for his daughter, her father focused his attention on a different solution to the problem. As the youngest child with an average quality of circuits it was predetermined that she would have no place as the heir of the house, but due to her body's strange conditions she was imprisoned for life avoiding human contact as much as possible to reduce the harm she would suffer. This no doubt bothered her parents far more than Caren herself who grew used to the lifestyle which was needless to say alarming. Though it pained them to send their youngest daughter away, they felt it was better for her to live in the company of people rather than secluding herself behind the mansion doors. So they chose the place with the least likelihood of harboring individuals with ill wicked thoughts which would cause her pain. The Church.
As a non religious family with little to no connection with the Church, she was sent there to take solemn vows and start her life anew as a Sister within the Horezu Monastery located in the town of Horezu, Wallachia, Romania. Life within the convent was peaceful and vastly different from the time she spent at her family mansion. She performed daily chores, sang with the other initiates in a choir, shared her strict meals with fellow sisters and studied religion in her spare times. In due time as she grew older she took her vows and continued to enjoy her life as a Sister of the Church, spending her days enjoying the things she liked such as reading all the books within the library, listening and giving advices to those in need, basking under the sun on a field of grass with little disturbance. But even amongst the quiet life of a convent her unnatural conditions showed symptoms which never escaped the keen eyes of the Church.
Committed to helping those in need she agreed to leave the convent and volunteered to join dangerous missions accompanied by Exorcists and Executors. She served as a radar of sorts, often her symptoms told her companions they were nearing the source of their target that even their sharpest senses could not pick up the scent of danger lurking behind doors. Although she missed her quiet life as a librarian for the Horezu Monastery, she finds other rewards for contributing her talents to save lives from the clutches of demons and the likes as well as to reach out to those in need. Though it wasn't her intentions, she had been promoted several times due to her courage and her natural gentle kindness she showed even towards those who showed ill intentions to harm her. Despite her young age she holds a strong office within the Vatican as one of few Supreme Pontiff. In recent times however, her superiors have started to see her rising popularity as a threat to their current seats within the higher echelon mainly due to some of the more exaggerated words that were used to describe Caren as a living Saint.
With the Holy Grail active once more the Church has bestowed her with a irregular assignment to become one of the Mediators in Lucca. This could be a clever ploy to organize her assassination and despite knowing the dangers she has answered to the call to oversee the Grail War as the representative of the Church.
EQUIPMENT: //
Magdalene's Sacred Burial Cloth
Unbreakable by men and is suited for restrainment (also note that this burial cloth seems to not just work by physical gender but gender according to the soul). Note that it will halt even the most extremely, extremely, strong targets (such as Berserker). Further, Magadelene is only meant to "restrain" and as such, if the "restrained" is attacked from the outside, the effects of the burial cloth will be broken instantly freeing the restrained target.
SKILLS: //
Powerful Kungfu:
She is obviously extremely skilled in martial arts and is an accomplished acrobat easily able to do backflips and mid-air cartwheels with little effort in terms of physical strain. Those who know her father sees this as a powerful resemblance between the two with their very impressive natural abilities in martial prowess. Had she averted her interest into the field, many has no doubts that she would have been a fine addition to the Church Executors. Instead this is just a small time hobby for her during past time between prayers and chores around the church. Not many are aware of her secret past time and she does what she can to conceal and keep the image of a ordinary Sister of the Church. It helps her calm down, relieve stress and to her personally she feels that honing physical abilities is a unexplainable way to bond with her late father.
