- Just
- Finn is both trusting and honest, a man of his word and one who expects others bound to theirs. He plays no favorites, and has accepted the oath of many, including former enemies and the man who killed his father in battle, and kept faith with them in turn. Breaking your word, however, is a surefire way to earn his anger. "And of his justice it used to be said, that if his enemy and his own son had come before him to be judged, it is a fair judgment he would have given between them... and he never promised at night what he would not fulfill on the morrow, and he never promised in the day what he would not fulfill at night."
- Bold
- Finn seems unaccustomed to fear and in love with challenge. Where others would shy away from a challenge, Finn stands to meet it with strength and joy in battle. "And a better fighting man than Finn never struck his hand into a king’s hand, and whatever any one ever said of him, he was three times better."
- Generous
- Finn cannot resist helping others. His tale is full of him stopping to aid the people of every village he passed, and wherever others would shy away from a crisis it was Finn who would step forward to aid them. "And as to his generosity it used to be said, he never denied any man as long as he had a mouth to eat with, and legs to bring away what he gave him."
- Boisterous
- Finn takes little seriously aside from his duties. Given any chance he displays characteristic Irish boisterousness, quickly sweeping others into his revelry.
LIKES:
*Drinking and feasting - he's practically obligated to enjoy anything offered to him.
*The thrill of the hunt
//
DISLIKES:
*Witches and fairies //
STRENGTHS:
He's a giant! His strength is immense and he can throw just about anything. In a straight fight he's stronger than most any man, and a more skilled fighter to boot - it just about takes a Heroic Spirit to compare. //
WEAKNESSES:
Finn has little control of his emotions despite his wisdom, often shown to fall into rages, drunken madness, and dark moods at various provocations. Hell, he lost one of his finest warriors to a fit of jealousy. Also, he's not very agile, for an Archer. //

MY LEGEND: www.shee-eire.com/magic&mythology/Warriors&Heroes/Warriors/Males/Finn-MacCool/Page1.htm//
MY HISTORY: I was born the son of Cumhall and his wife Muirne, who was the daughter of a druid. As she had been taken without the approval of her father, her father and the king he served had declared Cumhaill an outlaw - he was killed in battle by Goll before I was born, but Muirne taken under the protection of the king, Conn. I was fostered under Bohdmall and Liath and raised in the forest, taught every art of hunting and combat. Using these I wandered, aiding my countrymen - but each king who recognized me turned me out, knowing they could not stand against my father's enemies.
Finally I tutored under the druid Finnegas, a tiny man knowledgeable in the softer arts, and learned a wide array of knowledge and the art of poetry. He had seen that the salmon of knowledge would come to him, and caught it, instructing me to cook it for him. In the process, I accidentally ate a small bit of it after burning my thumb on its flesh, and Finnegas granted me the rest.
By this time, in my full growth and full of all the knowledge I'd need, I came to the hall of Tara, where the Fianna kept under the man who had slain my father. A fairy menaced them, coming each year under the cloak of a magical sleep and burning their halls to the ground. With a great and true spear gifted to me I stayed in their halls hidden under a cloak, the spear pressed against my forehead so that I could not sleep for the pain. When the fairy appeared, I attacked and he was slain, saving the halls of Tara. All of the Fianna, even my father's killer, swore to serve me in light of my feats, and we fought in the service of Ireland for many years under the king.
But when his son came into inheritance he feared us, and tried to buy my loyalty with a bride, Grainne. She fell in love with one of my warriors, Diarmuid, and though I raged at first eventually I blessed their union. Sadly when he was fatally wounded, I hesitated out of anger and lost my chance to address his wounds before he passed away.
Now sure he could not buy my loyalty and worried about the strength of the Fianna, the high king raised a mighty army to crush us. Hundreds were slain, but my son was lost and finally I, myself, fell.//
MY GOALS: The rebirth of the Fianna, to unite and serve Ireland once more.//
