- Egotistical
- Lancer is, in a word, full of himself. He succeeded in everything he did in life, and that reflects on his personality. He believes that no matter what happens, he can do no wrong, and that he is simply better than everyone else, Servant or not.
- Casanova
- Lancer is fond of the ladies, although not in a respectable way. At first, he's quite respectable to them, and attempts to get into their good graces, but once he spots a more beautiful women, he abandons them without a second thought. The only one who managed to avoid this in life was Andromeda, although this might have only had to do with her being more beautiful than anyone else.
- Already Over
- In a fight, he's trying to both enjoy the fight and win it at the same time. He desires respect and fear from the other members of the Holy Grail war, his Master included. As far as he's concerned, he's already won, and is just cleaning up the remains. Of course, the nature of the war means he's going to be disabused of this notion quite fast.
- Loud, Talkative, Boastful
- Lancer is quite boastful and a bit of a prick. He believes he can do anything and isn't afraid to say so to anyone. This is what got him into the battle with Medusa in his life, as he bragged to Polydectes that even if it was the head of the Gorgon, he could bring it to him. Notably, at this point, Perseus was a normal human for the time, with no special powers, which should tell you just how highly he thought of himself.
LIKES: //Battles he can win, women, good food and drinks, those who look up to him.
DISLIKES: // Being on the losing end of a fight, competition for girls, not getting food, those who see themselves on his level or higher. Snakes.
STRENGTHS: // Lancer is extremely quick, both on his feet and in his reactions, making him hard to hit and hard to avoid his blows. He has the most Noble Phantasms of any "regular" Heroic Spirit, going beyond the normal limit of 3 that is present. Also, most of his Noble Phantasms are of the "constant-effect" type, instead of the "trump-card" type, meaning that most of his Noble Phantasms cost either no prana, or insignificant amounts of prana to use. The exceptions are Kibisis, and the "reflect spells" version of Dynamis.
WEAKNESSES: // While Lancer is fast and can dish out powerful blows quickly, he is of the "Fragile Speedster" type, and he has little ability to actually survive stronger attacks, and he has no true "trump card" against those with a high mana stat. In addition, he has A-Ranked Divinity, meaning that any Noble Phantasm made to attack the divine will work very well against him. Thing's like Enkidu are his bane.

Slaying of Medusa
MY HISTORY: // Hm? You aren't satisfied with those secondhand accounts of my feats? Very well then. I shall tell you the tale myself. My story starts before I was born actually. You see, my grandfather Acrisius, may his soul rest in Hades, received a prophecy that his grandson would kill him. So, he locked Mom(her names Danae by the way) in this chamber made of solid bronze in the courtyard of his palace. What he shouldn't have done though, was leave the thing open to the sky. So, my father, Zeus, the greatest god of Olympus, visited and impregnated her disguised as a shower of gold. Don't ask how that works. Of course, dear old granddad wasn't pleased about this, so when I was born, he locked me and my mom in a chest and threw us into the sea, sealing his fate. See, I probably would have gotten along just fine with him if he hadn't tried to kill me and Mom, so he's only got himself to blame for-
Oh, right. I killed him by accident. Forgot about that. We'll get to that later.
Anyway, me and Mom probably would have died out at sea, but Zeus wasn't gonna let that happen. So he had Poseidon calm the seas, so that me and Mom would wash up on shore safely. We ended up on this island called Seriphos, and a fisherman named Dictys, who was the brother of the island's king, Polydectes. Even though Dictys was the brother of the kind, he was still just a poor fisherman who worked for a living. Still, he gave me and Mom a place to live, and for that he's got my gratitude. He certainly did more for me personally than old granddad.
Anyways, a while after I became a man, Polydectes began to fall in love with my mother. She rebuked him though, so he made the worst mistake of his life. He tried to rape her. My mother! If I had been there I would have killed him. Luckily, Dictys was there, and stopped that bastard. Just another thing to thank the guy for. Sometimes I wish that had been the end of it, but...
Polydectes, in order to get me and Dictys out of the way, decided to have all the young men on Seriphos give him expensive gifts. Yeah, ordering people to give you gifts doesn't make sense, but he was the king. Wasn't anything you could do about it. Of course, Dictys was just a poor fisherman, and I was even poorer, just a Fisherman's apprentice. but I could do anything. I knew it. I promised him that I could bring him anything, even if it was the head of the Gorgon. I didn't expect him to actually hold me to that exact item however.
And so, I was sent out to find and defeat the Gorgon Medusa. First however, I knew that I had to get information and weapons that would be good enough to defeat the Gorgon. My father, Zeus, gave my Harpe, a sickle for killing snakes, and Athena gave me a polished shield capable of letting me avoid her gaze of petrification. but it wasn't enough. Athena told me to find the Hesperides, who had the satchel I would need to contain the head of Medusa. In order to find the Hesperides, I had to learn their location from Graeae, three hideous old women who only had one eye and one tooth between them. Getting the information from them was pretty simple. I just took their eye and tooth and told them I would destroy the things if they didn't tell me what I needed to know. They gave up pretty much immediately. I only gave their eye and tooth back to them after they had led me to the Hesperides.
The Hesperides gave me two things; The satchel Kibisis to contain Medusa's head, and the helmet of Hades in order to let me become invisible at will. In addition, before I set out to the Temple of blood where Medusa was located, Hermes gave me winged sandals, which I used to actually get to the island. These would become my "Noble Phantams" later on. I understand that I'm the Heroic Spirit with the most Noble Phantasms, save some guy named Gilgamesh.
The day of that fight... ugh. There was no glory. No satisfaction. Just a nightmare and a monster trying to kill me. I'd rather not go into the details of that battle, but there was certainly no "beautiful sisters" on that island like I had head. Just a monster.
Afterwards, with a head in a bag, I stopped in the kingdom of Ethiopia, because I saw the most beautiful women I had ever met chained to a rock. I flew down to meet her, and asked why she was chained. I then heard the story that had resulted in her kingdom's attempted sacrifice of her. Her name was Andromeda, and her mother, Cassiopeia, had claimed that her daughter was more beautiful than the Nereids of Poseidon. This angered the God of the sea, who set the sea monster Cetus upon the kingdom. Ethiopia's oracle said that the only way to quell Poseidon's wrath was to sacrifice Andromeda to the Cetus. So they chained her to the rock on the shoreline for the monster. I told her that I would save her from the monster if she would marry me, and she immediately agreed.
The battle against the Cetus was far more enjoyable than that against Medusa. in the fight against Medusa, I never got to truly "fight" simply reflect her power against herself until she was helpless, and then behead her. The battle against the Cetus was a true Heroes fight, no special tricks, simply who could kill the other. Fortunately, I won, and freed Andromeda and the kingdom of Ethiopia. Andromeda's parents, Cepheus and Cassipeia, immediately accepted me as their son in law, and the wedding took place relatively quickly.
However, during the feast before the wedding, Phineas, Andromeda's previous fiance, arrived with about 200 men in an attempt to claim Andromeda. In response, I simply used the head of Medusa, and turned him and his entire army to stone. Things proceeded on quite smoothly from there.
After the wedding, I flew back to Seriphos to take care of one last piece of business; Polydectes. When I arrived back, he was trying to force himself on my mother. This time, Dictys wasn't around to stop him... or protect the bastard from my wrath. I used the head of the gorgon Medusa for the final time, turning him to stone. After this, I granted Dictys kingship of Seriphos, before returning the Noble Phantasms to their original owners, along with Medusa's head, which Athena placed on her shield. After that, I settled down with Andromeda as the King of Mycenae. We had 7 sons; Perses, Alcaeus, Heleus, Mestor, Sthenelus, Electryon, and Cynurus. We also had two daughters, Gorgophone, and Autochthoe. Alcaeus eventually gave birth to Amphitryon, stepfather of Heracles. Which makes me the great-step-grandfather of Heracles. You probably didn't know that.
Oh, the prophecy about killing Acrisius? Well, many years later, while competing in the Olympics, I had just invented the quoit and was making a public demonstration, when the thing veered off course and knocked dear old granddad on the head, killing him instantly. Complete accident, I assure you.
Well, that's about it. Hope you enjoyed the tale.
MY GOALS: // Wants a new life in the modern era.
[/blockquote]
NOBLE PHANTASM: // Perseus is the Heroic Spirit known for being Unusual in number of Noble Phantasms. Other than Gilgamesh, Perseus is identified as having the highest number of Noble Phantasms belonging to any one Heroic Spirit.
Harpe-
Title: The Snake-Hunter Sickle.
Owner: Perseus
Type: Anti-Unit
Rank: C
Range: 2-3
Maximum Number of Targets: 1
Once wielded by the demigod Perseus, Harpe is the original, perfect form of the Greek sickle-sword and was used to behead the Gorgon Medusa. By itself Harpe is not an outstanding scythe, but is able to ignore the defense of an enemy as it were not there and cause damage anyways. Harpe also possesses the ability of "refraction prolonging", a divine skill that cancels out special abilities from immortality and prevents recovery of wounds taken by Harpe. Healing through natural means is possible, but cannot be accelerated by sorcery or any other special abilities.
Dynamis-
Title: Actus et Potentia.
Owner: Perseus
Type: Support
Rank: B++
Range: 200
Maximum Number of Targets: Not applicable
The mirror shield that was once wielded by the hero Perseus, Dynamis is regarded as the ultimate defense against sorcery. Possession dominion of the transference and mitigation of energy, the reflective surface of this shield will turn any spell back upon the one who cast it. It was with this noble phantasm that Perseus was able to defeat the Mystic Eyes of the Gorgon Medusa and accordingly slay her. Without this shield, the Mystic Eyes Cybele would have taken effect regardless of whether Perseus was looking at them or not. It is used by turning the mirrored-face of the shield against the spell. The spell doesn't need to actually hit the shield. Merely catching its reflection in the shield's mirror is enough to reverse it back on the caster. The rank of this noble phantasm would normally be A, but it's specialization against a particular damage type lowers it. Also, the mirror shield reflects the world itself, meaning that by looking into it, Lancer can see his surroundings and the heartbeats of those nearby, enabling him to see the area by looking at the shield instead. Using the spell reflection "attack" of the shield costs prana, but looking into it and seeing the surrounding area does not.
Talaria-
Title: Winged Sandals of Hermes.
Owner: Perseus
Type: Support
Rank: D
Range: Not applicable
Maximum Number of Targets: Not applicable
A simple Noble Phantasm of low rank that has only the ability to grant the gift of flight on the wearer.
Invisibility Cap-
Title: Dark Helm of Hades.
Owner: Perseus
Type: Support
Rank: C
Range: Not applicable
Maximum Number of targets: Not applicable
Originally owned by Hades, it was used by several different people, including Athena and Hermes, before being given to Perseus. The cap's ability is to turn the wearer invisible, essentially a Noble Phantasm version of Presence Concealment. While it can be used to sneak up an opponent, like Presence Concealment, it will start to fade when Lancer starts to attack.
Kibisis-
Title: Snake Head Bag
Owner: Perseus
Type: Anti-Army
Rank: A
Range: 2-100
Maximum Number of Targets: 200 People
The bag used to contain Medusa's head. Kibisis gives Lancer access, in a fashion, to the Mystic Eyes Cybele, using the head of the Gorgon Medusa. However, since he uses them by pulling out the head, he is vulnerable to them unlike Medusa, who had the eyes herself. Therefore, he cannot look at the head while using this attack. Those who possess Rank C or lower in Mana will be immediately petrified, while those with Rank B may or may not be affected depending on the conditions. Those with Rank A or higher won’t be petrified, but will sustain "pressure" from the Eyes and receive a one rank-down to all parameters. Due to the fact that Perseus cannot use this Noble Phantasm and fight normally at the same time, it's only actually useful if the opponent is petrified. Mystic Eyes Cybele are costly even to their original owner, and to activate them with his unfamiliar prana, Lancer has to run an extremely large amount of prana through the head to make it work. If there is no prana to use, the head will not take affect.
CLASS ABILITIES: //
Magic Resistance B: Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.
SKILLS: //
Divinity, Rank A: Comes from being 1/2 God, as a son of Zeus.
Bravery, Rank B: Immunity to psychic and psychological ailments.
Disengage, Rank A: At this rank, the Servant can retreat from battle regardless of enemy numbers. As long as there is prana to keep the Servant intact, he can retreat from battle and heal himself. Also, with this ability, the battle is returned to the first turn, as it were.
Instinct, Rank C: At this rank, this resembles a formidable sixth sense. It reduces by a fourth any obstacles to vision and hearing.
