- Easy-going intrepid person
- The best way to describe someone like Kinou. She doesn't care for much but herself. As long as her well being isn't in any danger, she isn't much of a threat. Kinou is the kind of person who just goes with the flow. When in Rome, do what the Romans do. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. An eye for an eye and an ear for an ear.
She's the kind of person who likes to "live in the moment," never stopping to consider the past or the future. Whatever happens, happens. Que sera, sera. Whatever the situation, she'll perform to the best of her ability.
She likes to be straight and to the point, never mincing words or trying to be eloquent. If she needs to say something, she'll say it plainly and out there, not even thinking about whether or not the people hearing those words will like it. She's a person who'll let you know if she feels something, and make it really clear. This can lead to troublesome situations, even though, in spite of what was said earlier, she might not have meant to cause trouble.

- Down to earth and modern
- When it comes down to it, she's a very logical thinker, always trying to find the best and fastest way to solve a problem. If she gets serious, her mind is focused on the situation at hand, and it's impossible to distract her.
Unlike other magi, she doesn't care much for "what could be," and "what could have been." While the old wizards in dusty robes are off tending to their yellow-paged books, Kinou rides off onto the next exit on the phrase "what is." She isn't the type to try to find answers where there aren't any, or at least, when the answer isn't relevant to her. She isn't attached to the universal things, she'd rather focus on her individual self and what she's going to do the next day. As such, she doesn't have any patience for old things, or things that take too long to manifest results. This can range from magecraft, studies, and books to lines at the grocery store and traffic. Sometimes this impatience can even cause her to fly into a rage. It also means she isn't afraid to cut corners and go into a situation half-assed.
She's the kind of person who likes to name things for the sake of naming them. As if everything she finds, object, animal, or person, becomes her own personal property.
- When it comes down to it, she's a very logical thinker, always trying to find the best and fastest way to solve a problem. If she gets serious, her mind is focused on the situation at hand, and it's impossible to distract her.
- Machine Freak
- If Kinou had a choice in the matter of what she would do for the rest of her life, she'd probably say something like "engineer" or "mechanic." Even though she's a magus, Kinou is far more fascinated with science and machines than with sorcery. To her, machines can achieve a level of complexity and ingenuity magecraft never could. Magecraft means old, archaic books and ruins, and machines mean shiny futuristic cars and space ships.
Every time she thinks about it, her mind goes blank with all the possibilities. With machines, you could bring the dead back to life. You could create a robotic familiar, a timeless servant that would never die, and would never drain a person of prana. You could create weapons that could blow down even the strongest bounded field with a single shot. You could fly through the air and into space and sail the heavens.
Guns, weapons, are what fascinate her the most. So much so that she's begun to rely more on modern weaponry than magecraft. Before someone can finish his aria, the opponent has already put a bullet in his brain. When it comes to guns, she can be highly destructive and personal. She loves anything associated with guns; magazines, clothes, T.V shows and video games (shooters, of course). She's a highly skilled marksman, and if you give her the chance, a deadly opponent.
Next to guns, vehicles, modes of transport, are high on the list. To her, a new, high-end care is the most beautiful thing in the world. Even better if it's a motorcycle.

- Melancholic individualist
- It wouldn't be wrong to say that Kinou likes to be a solitary individual, keeping mostly to herself. However, that doesn't mean she's an anti-socialist. Get to know the girl, and you'll find she's plenty social when she wants to be, especially if she's someone who can share her interests (as impossible as that may be). To that end, she behaves like a normal young woman of her age. However, the one thing she can't stand is someone who takes pity on her.
Kinou puts her freedom first before anything, and she'll do as she pleases, even if it means breaking some rules. But it also means that her secrets are harder to uncover, simply because she stubbornly refuses to let anyone force her to tell. Her troubles are hers alone, and trying to get her to admit her pain would mean sustaining some. She simply doesn't like the idea of being indebted to someone, in her mind, it's basically the same thing as becoming a slave. Paradoxically, it is because she thinks this so strongly that, whenever someone does help her out, she feels as if she is eternally shackled to that person with debt, and she won't be free until she repays it.
Growing up in a very rigid and structured society, Kinou is the typical black sheep, rebellious youth in the family. There isn't anyone in the universe who can order her around and tell her what to do. She will go where she wants to go, do what she wants to do, and there is nothing anyone can say that can make her stop.
However, in that intrepid young soul lies her own share of hardship and sadness. She was very unlucky as a child. There are people that she would like to see again, people that are precious to her. There is a great deal of pain in her heart, in the center of it a horrible secret. But she won't ever let someone see that, and if you question her about it, she'd probably put a bullet through your skull. She will never admit she's in pain. If you want to be a good Samaritan and shoulder her burdens, the first thing you'll have to do is rip them off her back and probably incapacitate her.

LIKES: Machines, traveling, guns, ice cream, cheese steak, Justified, FPS, Shooters, arcades, motorcycles. //
DISLIKES: Slow things, boring things, old things, old people, traffic, long lines. //
STRENGTHS: When she's focus, she's at her deadliest. Kinou acts according to the situation at hand, adapting as the situation changes. While not definitely not the strongest magus around, in terms of cunning and ingenuity, she's definitely an ace.
Though her abilities as a magus are average at best, despite her family line, she makes up for it with a keen specialization on a single form of magecraft, her own family's signature. In addition, she's a far more skilled marksman, able to utilize a variety of firearms with great proficiency. She is also skilled in hand to hand combat, specializing ju jitsu and krav maga, as well as traditional Japanese martial arts and weapons such as knives, swords, and sai.//
WEAKNESSES: She is an individualist, a lone wolf, and that can get her into a lot of trouble. Fear of being in debt is one thing, but she can be so stubborn at times, she'd be risking her own life. Also, being a person who "lives in the moment," can also mean repeating the mistakes of the past. This, together with her tendency to loathe slow and old things, makes Kinou a very poor student. She doesn't learn very well, chalking everything up to experience. The problem is, in this dangerous time, it only takes one mistake for a game over.//[

MY FAMILY LINE: The Kichishimas, Kinou's family, are an unspectacular family of magi going on 600 with a weak bloodline.
They began as a sect of warrior monks during the Sengoku period of Japan, a period of conflict that raged across the country for over a hundred years. In the beginning, they had no knowledge of thaumaturgy at all. A magus from the distant islands, who was on a pilgrimage across the world, taught them the ways of sorcery in exchange for food and board. During his time there, the magus and the head of the family's daughter fell in love and spent a night together, producing what was to become the first in a bloodline of magi.
From there, the power of the Kichishimas began to grow as the conflict in Japan became worse, and their heirs produced more and more magic circuits. Their knowledge of magecraft made them stronger than ever, and over the years they earned a reputation for being unstoppable warriors and cunning magi. However, they weren't satisfied with what they had accomplished, always seeking to better their knowledge of magecraft to make themselves stronger.
Ever since they learned of Akasha, the Root of All Things, from the wandering magus, the Kichishimas had been intent of finding it, and as the years went on, it turned into a obsession. But when their efforts failed at every turn, they became desperate. "When you've used up all the good ideas and moved on to the stupid ones, you know your in trouble," as Kinou once put it.
Then, a young man named Kichishima Oshima discovered an ingenious solution.
The best way to learn about something was to make one yourself. In other words, he would create his own Akasha, and use it to discover more about the original.
He dedicated himself fully to his goal, spending his entire lifetime trying to replicate Akasha. Pooling all of his family's knowledge, and when that was insufficient, he traveled the world in search of more. He died a very old and very tired man.
And to an extent, he succeeded.
At the end of his travels, he discovered a powerful form of magecraft that dated back to the Age of the Gods. Using this as a basis, he invented a powerful curse that siphoned the life force out of any living thing in the immediate vicinity. By infusing this curse into an enchanted crystal, it became a powerful Mystic Code, capable of feeding off of life force again and again and even growing in power the more it was used. Oshima created the basis for what he believed was going to become his second Akasha.
By the time he came back to Japan, the period of war and violence was nearing it's end, but there was still much conflict across the nation. In the midst of this, Oshima's experiments went unnoticed. His second Akasha was weak, but it grew stronger the more it fed. First it was small animals, but it wasn't long before he moved on to humans. During this time, a person disappearing in the middle of the night was normal. It was even more common for a whole fishing village to be burned to the ground by bandits, leaving no survivors. The only way you could tell Oshima's work apart from the bandits were the corpses. If it were bandits, there would be many; men, women, children, etc. If it were Oshima, there would be none. Only the ashes of the fire.
The secret to Oshima's experiments was simple. It wasn't just the life force his curse absorbed, it was the very soul of the subject itself. Who he was, what he was. The whole subject was devoured. The body and the soul were turned to fire, to pure energy, and were absorbed by the curse. Leaving only dust. What was once the subject is now a perfect record inside the crystal.
At the end of his life, Oshima returned to his family in order to pass down his Akasha and his knowledge to his brethren, so that they would continue his work. They didn't even wait till after the funeral.
However, they soon discovered a terrible flaw in Oshima's Akasha. As the curse grew stronger, it required to be fed more subjects, otherwise, like an impoverished flame, it would die. Also, by feeding it so much life force, the curse began to go haywire, killing anything that came near it indiscriminately. The Kichishimas were hard pressed to find a way to control it again, but many of their attempts failed and much of that generation was lost.
Finally, as the Tokugawa shogunate was being established, they found a way to bring Oshima's Akasha back under their control. They created a powerful bounded field around the curse, limiting it's power. In addition, they created a special family Crest, which bound the life force of the wearer to the curse itself. In this way, the curse is constantly fed in small amounts, while the user is able to control the power of the curse. They are immune to any effects or magecraft that the Eye of Harmony casts. Also, if the curse ever goes out of control and kills the user, the curse itself will also die.
At this point, the curse was no longer just a curse. It was a being in itself. While still a far cry from Akasha, it had grown substantially in power. The Kichishimas gave it a new name. The Eye of Harmony.
As the years went on, the Kichishimas continued the experiments. They learned to regulate the Eye of Harmony, being careful not to let it's power go unchecked. Throughout the centuries, the Kichishimas began to produce heirs with a large amount of magic circuits less and less, which made it more difficult to continue their work. In addition, it became harder to find test subjects for the Eye to feed on without attracting attention as the world progressed into the modern age. The times of war, where violence ran rampant across the country and death was everywhere, were gone.
In the present day, the Kichishimas are few and far between. There is only one family, a handful of people, who continue the studies, and only one of them has magic circuits well enough to use magecraft.
In 2019, the Eye of Harmony went rampant again, bringing down a 797 passenger jet over the beach of Santa Maria in California. No bodies were found.
The only survivor was Kichishima ___.//
MY HISTORY:
A whale's sigh... The dreaming shooting star... It felt like that's what they were singing. While everything out there is changing, the sound of these insects chirping echos up to the sky. That's what I'm listening to right now.
That's the only thing that's for certain.
When I was young, I used to want to be a poet. Back when I was a little girl, I fell in love with this book by this one person. I forgot her name.
But you didn't spend an hour staring at a computer screen reading this far into my profile to just hear me rant, right? Don't worry, I'll try to make this as quick and painless as possible.
First of all, my original name wasn't Kuroboshi Kinou. My mother named me after a beautiful crimson flower that bloom near cemeteries and rice paddy rivers. I'm not especially proud of it, but I'll tell it to you anyway.
My real name is Kichishima ___.
This is called foreshadowing. I'll tell you some strange fact like that, and then tell you why I had to change my name.
My childhood wasn't an especially interesting one up until the plain crash. I was a kid, and I behaved like one. My parents were wealthy. Dad was a master at the stock market game, and a very successful banker. You know Tsuruko bank? Yeah, that's ours. One of the most successful banks in Japan. So yeah, I was just a little rich kid.
I didn't really think my magi family was special. The magecraft we used didn't look like the kind of magic you saw in movies and read in books. All of our studies, all our knowledge and what little power we had went into researching one thing.
The Eye of Harmony.
But you already know about that, don't you?
I didn't know about it until I was 7. That's when they started implanting me with the family Crest.
We start implanting the Crest really early, when we're just children. This is so the new Crest-bearers can get used to the Eye's pressure and are able to control it easier when they're older. We do it little by little, so that the full control of the Eye is still in the hands of the parent, but the child can now feel the pressure of it's power as well.
That's what I had to go through. If everything had gone according to plan, I would've been the next holder, the next Kichishima, to bear the Eye. I would've continued the research, the experiments. I would've stalked off into the night and stole people from their homes and burst them into flames.
Of course it didn't. It wouldn't be that interesting if it did, right?
When I was twelve, I was already used to the power of the Eye. By then, I had been schooled for five years by my family, my father especially, in the ways of magecraft. Even though my magic circuits were average at best, his teaching were rigid and harsh, like I was going to become the head of the Mage's Association. But my mother was always there to comfort me. She never approved of my being taught magic and wizardry. In fact, they argued regularly over it. Among other things.
Don't get me wrong. They were great parents. They loved each other, and they loved me. They loved ten times more than they hated, and I still love them with all my heart. It was just that one day on the plane.
The night before the flight, my parents had a really bad argument. The biggest one I'd ever heard. When we were all together on the plane, I wedged in between the two of them, I could still feel their hatred for each other seething like heat. It hurt. It hurt because I knew they had been arguing about me again.
I don't know how he made it sound before, back when he was filling out the rest of this profile. When he was telling you all about me; my height, my age, my personality, etc. Let me tell you that it isn't easy controlling something as powerful and as evil as the Eye of Harmony. The terrible truth is that, when you take on the family Crest and become the bearer of the Eye, you're no longer two separate beings. You're linked to each other. My life force, my soul, is one with the Eye. I can see the collective inside it, in my mind. The ones that died horrible deaths. It cooks you using your own life force, that isn't exactly a quick and painless end. And then it steals your soul, trapping it in a world of nothingness.
I can hear them screaming at night, in the dark. I have dreams about them, screaming in my head. Calling for a way out in the darkness. Trying to find the light. I'm afraid because I can see them, lurking in the dark. Tens of thousands of bogeymen, calling out to me, wanting to tear me apart looking for an escape.
And I was just a little girl. I was only twelve. And it hurt. It hurt me so much to see my parents hate each other like that. It hurt because I knew, somewhere in that torrent of hate, the center of it was reserved for me.
And it was so easy to hate them back. To hate them so much for hating me.
It likes that. When you hate. It was a device born in a time of war and bloodshed. It loves it when you lash out, because then it can lash out too.
That's when everyone on the plane spontaneously combusted.
I don't really remember much after that. I woke up in a hospital a day later. Everything I learned, I learned from watching T.V. The plane had crashed on a beach in Santa Maria in the middle of the night. Only one survivor were found.
My hair was singed short from the flames of my parents bodies, and in my hand, I held the Eye of Harmony.
It was at that moment that I really began to hate the thing. I'm pretty sure it liked that.
But there was a problem. My crest was incomplete. Actually, the final surgery was supposed to take place when we made it back home to Japan. Now, with an incomplete crest, not only is my ability to contain and use the power of the crest limited, but the thing, the Eye, gets in my head. That's when it started to show me those visions of the people it killed, everyone's record. The ghosts of those it's consumed.
And for three days, there in the hospital, I went insane.
On the fourth day hospital burned down.
Guess who was the only survivor.
After that, I got a hold of myself for a little while and stayed with my uncle and aunt, who I knew for a long time. They were my instructors in thaumaturgy. However, upon seeing my incomplete crest and the excited Eye of Harmony, they decided it would be best, for everyone, to send me to a place called the Sea of Estray. I was there in a matter of weeks.
I studied there for a long time, my goal was to learn how to control the Eye of Harmony with an incomplete Crest. Unfortunately, I wasn't exactly the best student ever. The halls of the Sea were even more rigid and strict than the teachings of my father. I hardly got any freedom, and there were so many rules to abide by. I couldn't believe that people willingly lived like that.
But then I met someone. A boy. In the years and years I stayed at the Sea, he became my only friend. My best friend.
His name was Kuroboshi Kinou.
He helped me out with my studies and I even improved my abilities in magecraft with him. I told him about the Eye and he was fascinated with it. He wanted to help me control it better, without the power of the Crest. And he was pretty good himself. His specialty was alchemy, his family was a long lineage of such people. It was really him who improved the bounded field around the Eye with the revolver casing and his idea to use a special gun as a container and a Mystic Code. He had a thing for puppets, too. He created my penguin familiars. He was the one who taught me how to control the Eye better, using meditation techniques and things to increase my spirituality. He was brilliant. A genius. If he were still here, he would've rocked the world of magecraft for sure!
If he were still here...
We had a lot of fun together. He always made everything better. When I was with him, the shades in the night, the ghosts of the Eye, would be faded and shallow. I enjoyed my life with him. If I could choose one part of my life I could relive over and over again, it would by the years I spent there, in the Sea of Estray, with him sitting across the table from me. His eyes glittering with the brilliance of a true magician.
But then something happened. No, I know what happened this time. It was the Eye.
During one of our experiments, the Eye went haywire again. He was fiddling with it. I told him not to touch it when I wasn't around, but that was Kinou for you. He never listened. He always had to touch everything.
Next thing I knew, there was fire everywhere. I saw him. Burning. A white flame on a candlestick. I saw his eyes for the last time, flashing. His mouth moved and he reached out for me, his flesh dripping away from the tips of his fingers and turning to ash.
The fire spread, burning down most of the West Abbey. Hundreds of people were killed.
This time there weren't any survivors.
Don't worry, I'm not a ghost. I did survive. And yes, in his honor, I took his name. I became Kuroboshi Kinou.
Why? The reason might not make any sense to you. Kinou always wanted to travel the world. That was his dream, to see all of the world.
Now I have to live that dream in his place.
I was 20 when I left the Sea of Estray, so I spent 7 years there. It was a sneaky, and happy, kind of leaving. They had just assumed I died. For all they know, yes, I have.
So I was free. Free to travel, to do what I wished. I liked that.
But the shades, the ghosts of the Eye, never stopped haunting me. It was even worse now. Every night, I saw Kinou. I saw my parents, the ones I loved. Screaming, calling for freedom. Calling me to save them. Blaming me. Hating me. Them and everyone. All the hundreds of thousands of people the Eye had consumed.
Everyone was calling to be free.
So I decided to make it my life long mission to find a way to destroy this thing. To destroy the Eye of Harmony.
Of course, it's not easy. Everything I've tried has failed. And I've tried everything modern magecraft can possibly accomplish.
And that pretty much brings us to the present. I'm in Italy, looking for a way to destroy the Eye and put all the souls to rest.
I'm here.
Whatever happens, happens.//
MY GOALS: To destroy the Eye of Harmony. //
[/blockquote]
"Bowser:" www.vaapensport.com/m3slug.jpg
A weapon she purchased shortly after arriving in Italy. "Bowser," is a Benelli M3 Super 90 shotgun. Favored by both law enforcement and civilian use alike, the M3 is a semi-automatic shotgun with a reputation for being both versatile and reliable. Kinou favors this weapon for home defense because it's raw stopping power, relatively high rate of fire, and ease of use, combined with it's flexibility and stellar reliability, makes it the weapon of choice for close-combat. Because it's much less conspicuous than fully automatic weapons, Kinou also bring this weapon to battles that require an extra amount of fire power.
For home defense, Kinou has a whole bucket of shells that she can use, but outside of her home, she can only carry 7 rounds at a time.
The weapon was affectionately named "Bowser," after the famous villain in the Mario franchise of video games.
"Firefly Swarm-Comet Shard Blast-:" A special ammunition created for "Bowser." Basically a thaumaturgical buckshot, this type of ammunition is extremely powerful, capable of blasting through concrete, steel, and virtually all types of armor.
The basis for this ammunition was created during Kinou's time at the Sea of Estray. There, she and her colleague experimented with new ways the energy from the Eye of Harmony could be put to use, without endangering Kinou's well being. Kinou's colleague discovered that, given the right application of pressure, they could remove pieces of the Eye of Harmony without it's power going wild. These pieces could then be crafted into various shapes, while the prana stored inside them would merely adapt to the change in environment and remain unaffected. It was Kinou's idea to craft them into bullets and fire them from guns.
The Firefly Swarm ammo, in function and concept, basically has the same effect as Tohsaka Rin's jewels. They're shotgun shells filled with, in the place of buckshot, shards from the Eye of Harmony that hold a powerful charge of prana. The difference is mainly their power levels. The Firefly Swarm ammo can only achieve an attack rank of B. Also, while Rin's jewels explode upon impact, the Firefly Swarm ammo continues through it's target, shredding it to bits. It is also useful as an anti-material round, being able to blow holes through reinforced concrete with ease and pierce through to the target in the same shot. It can also blast through magical defenses that don't have a rank of B or higher.
The downside is that Kinou has a very finite supply of this kind of ammunition, and the process for making more can take weeks. Kinou often uses this type of ammunition as a back up for when she is too exhausted to use magecraft, or when it is far more practical than the former.
It was named "Firefly Swarm" because, when fired from "Bowser," it looks as if a swarm of white-hot fireflies are charging towards you.
"Marshal:" www.jameswest.com/sigsauer/sig_sauer_p226.jpg
A SIGSaur P226 handgun. It's a fairly average looking weapon that packs a lot of punch. Kinou immediately bought the it after learning it was the signature gun of Raylan Givens, the main character of her favorite crime drama, "Justified." Though by far the weakest of her three firearms, it has the advantage of being far more concealable than either "Cannon" or "Bowser," as well as being a far more practical weapon in situations where the use of magecraft or extreme force isn't required. In terms of performance, it's a conservative, good-all-around side arm, being in service for years in several military factions and governments all around the world.
Inside her home, Kinou has 4 spare magazines she can use, each with 12 rounds. Outside, as per Italian law regarding firearms, she can only carry the one magazine the gun is loaded with, no spares.
The gun was affectionately named "Marshal," after Raylan Givens himself.
"Firefly Shot-Paralysis Beacon-:" A special ammunition for "Marshal." Like the "Firefly Swarm" ammo for "Bowser," it was created during Kinou's time at The Sea of Estray, while she and her colleague tried to discover new ways to utilize the immense power of the Eye of Harmony.
The Firefly Shot ammo was the predecessor to the Firefly Swam, so, in terms of function and manufacture, it's basically the same deal. However, the effects of the two are very different. While the Firefly Swarm ammo was made to totally annihilate the opponent, Firefly Shot is a non-lethal type of bullet.
The bullet itself does no damage at all. Upon coming into contact with the opponent, the fragile crystal that makes up the casing shatters instantly. However, the energies that were embedded into the bullet are absorbed by the victims' body. These energies cause a type of paralysis, impeding the opponents' ability to move.
However, there is one serious drawback to this type of ammunition. The bullet's effectiveness only holds a rank of D, so it only works against opponents with a magical resistance of D or lower. Even a low-ranking magus could resist it's power. Because of this, Kinou mainly uses this type of ammo against opponents that aren't magi, or when she doesn't intend to harm someone.
"Cannon:" www.portwave.gr.jp/taikost/gun/image/colt-51.jpg
Kinou's signature weapon, a powerful Mystic Code that houses the Eye of Harmony.
The gun itself is really a model, made to resemble a Colt M1851 revolver. It was constructed by Kinou and her colleague at the Sea of Estray.
The gun is basically a chamber for the Eye of Harmony to reside in. It's virtually indestructible through physical means. The steel is made up of a powerful magical element obtained through alchemy, and engraved on it are various enchanted carvings and runes for extra protection. The Eye is placed in the center of the revolving chamber, which is lined with a special silver used to slow the flow of prana, so that the Eye is calmer and less likely to lash out. The inside of the barrel is lined with a type of liquid metal, in order to focus the energies when the gun is fired.
It was Kinou's colleague who named the gun "Cannon." It's her most precious possession.
"The Eye of Harmony:" A powerful prana singularity created by Kichishima Oshima, Kinou's ancestor.
Originally, the Eye was a powerful curse engineered by Oshima using a form of magecraft that dated back to the Age of the Gods. The original spell that served as the basis for the Eye was known as "the Flames of Elysia." It was a spell that, when performed correctly, used an opponents own Od against them by overloading their magic circuits with prana until they burst into flames from the inside out.
Oshima found a way to turn the spell into a curse that not only had the same effect as the original, but the Od, and the soul, of the opponent would be absorbed into the user of the curse. Of course the flaw was that, after absorbing the soul and the Od of the opponent, the user would also experience an overload and die instantly.
To counter this, Oshima then embedded the curse into an enchanted crystal and cast a powerful and complex bounded field around it, so that the second effect of the curse, where he would receive the Od and soul of the opponent, would be canceled out. Instead, the Od and soul would be contained inside the crystal. Also, the prana of the opponent would be his to utilize at his whim.
In this way, Oshima believed he could create a model of Akasha, the Root of All Things. By collecting records of people using the Eye of Harmony.
As the Eye absorbed more and more souls, it's power increased. In order to compensate for this, the Kichishimas after Oshima created more intricate bounded fields around it to seal the power off. In addition, they left a sort of gate so that the bearer of their family Crest could access the power of the Eye more immediately.
The Eye of Harmony has become so powerful, it is a prana source independent of nature. Also, after absorbing so many souls, so many records of people, the Eye has developed a sort of semi-consciousness itself. However, the only desire it has ever displayed is the primal need to feed and an enjoyment of hatred and bloodshed.
The Eye has created a vision of itself in Kinou's mind. It looks like this: i712.photobucket.com/albums/ww121/Sunscorcher/zerotwo.jpg
According to Kinou, it did this so that it could "freak me out."

"The Penguins, Oshima and Tsuruko:"

Tsuruko: i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk61/Soap-Bubble/Prinny%202/Asagi2.png The penguin, not the girl.
Kinou's familiars, two puppets in the guise of penguins wearing scarves.
Originally, they were created by Kinou's colleague at the Sea of Estray. After his death, Kinou decided to take them for herself.
The penguins are, in design and make, nothing spectacular in terms of puppets. They are highly resistant to damage, having a defense rank of B+.
What sets them apart from other puppets are their power source. Each of them are independently powered by a large fragment of the Eye of Harmony. This turns them from inanimate puppets into walking, squawking soldiers.
By taking some of his magic circuits and embedding them into the puppets frame, and then using the fragments of the Eye to power those circuits, Kinou's colleague created a way for the puppets to become totally independent of their masters
In addition, because of their status as puppets, they feel no pain or fear, and can continue fighting even in the most hazardous situations. They are also capable of superhuman feats, such as super strength, agility, and dexterity. They can lift cars, punch through solid rock, run on walls, etc.
Also, because they are powered by the Eye, they each developed a sort or semi-consciousness. Rather than being a good thing, this is actually one of the many flaws. They have very little intelligence. Unlike a robot, that will perform a task flawlessly as instructed by it's master, the penguins are capable of failing. Horribly. They're also not very conspicuous. Though their frame is able to be folded into a briefcase, when activated, they tend to...break stuff. Imagine two super penguins bickering at each other, destroying everything all over Italy.
Fighting android penguins+modern society=No.
Also, unlike the original Eye of Harmony, the fragments that power the penguins have a limited charge.
The bounded field around Kinou's villa keeps them constantly charged by leeching small amounts of prana around the area over a long period of time, so that their power source can feed. But without this bounded field, they can usually last for 2 hours without having to be recharged, but this depends on the level of activity they undertake. They can use up all their charge in under a few minutes if a serious battle takes too long to finish, or they undertake other kinds of strenuous activities. Which they usually do, since Kinou is sort of a slave driver.
If they loose their charge, she will have to recharge them manually, a process that takes half an hour for each penguin.
In addition, while familiars are supposed to be small and not very noticeable, the power source that powers the penguins is easily detectable by magi and servants. Even normal people will feel a slight tingling sensation when they get near. Basically anyone with a brain can sense these familiars a mile away.
For the reasons stated above, they are usually confined to the summer villa Kinou is staying at, in order to protect the home base and do chores.
The blue penguin with the red scarf is Oshima, named after Kinou's ancestor and the creator of the Eye. The black one with the white scarf is Tsuruko, named after Kinou's family's chain of successful banks. Kinou states that there wasn't really any particular reason for the names. They are the only two familiars Kinou has.//

MAGIC CIRCUITS: Kinou's magic circuits aren't that spectacular for someone coming from a long bloodline. She has 20 circuits each with a quality of 7 for a total of 140.//
SPELLS:
Kinou's specialty in magecraft is using the prana of the Eye of Harmony to initiate spells.
Because she relies totally on prana from the Eye, Kinou doesn't need to draw power from either her own Od or Mana from the environment, which gives her a huge advantage in that she will always have prana in the vicinity for use in spells.
However, this can come with consequences. Drawing prana from the eye has something Kinou calls a "blow back" effect. If you draw prana from the Eye, the Eye immediately leeches your od as compensation for the prana you borrowed. This will always happen every time Kinou initiates a spell using the Eye, regardless of whether or not she wants it to. It also takes double the amount of Od from the user in comparison to the prana it took to cast the spell.
Because of the blow back effect, prolonged use of magecraft using the Eye can result in Kinou becoming totally exhausted in a very short amount of time. Using it for too long can physically debilitate and even kill her.
The blow back effect is a result of Kinou having an incomplete crest. Another problem the crest causes is that she isn't able to access the Eye's full power. With an incomplete crest, she can only access less than 3% safely. Try to use more and she runs the risk of destroying herself, with a certainty that she will be severely injured.
Another problem is that, being only a magus with less-than-average abilities at best, Kinou's knowledge of any other forms of magecraft is minimal. Therefore, she is totally reliant on the Eye for prana and magical power. This makes going into battle twice as dangerous for her as it is for the opponent, especially if the opponent is a high level magus who actually knows what he's doing.
The total cost for each spell is how much total prana it will take to cast the spell, this includes the prana taken from Kinou by the Eye. So when I say a spell cost 32 Pr, that's how much od was stolen from Kinou.
The trigger for Kinou's magecraft is an image of the hammer of a gun striking. She also physically does the action on "Cannon."
Delphic Laser (Immaterial)
Rank: D
Cost: 10 Pr
Range:4 meters
Effect: A spell that launches a continuous beam of white prana, able to cut through opponents and armor.
A low rank offensive spell, created more for all-around utility purposes rather than combat. The spell takes one line to cast.
Once activated, the Eye of Harmony releases a beam of focused prana that travels up from the barrel and out of the gun in a thin line 4 meters long. The beam can slice through weak prana fortifications, iron bars, and flesh easily.
It was created during Kinou's time at the Sea of Estray.
Delphic Blast (Immaterial)
Rank: C
Cost: 25 Pr
Range: 14 meters
Effect: Fires a blast of prana.
An offensive spell that's very similar to Delphic Laser, except with a longer range and far more powerful. Delphic Blast is your basic energy blast attack. Like Delphic Laser, Kinou fires a blast of prana from the Eye inside "Cannon." However, the blast is more concentrated for a stronger punch. Also, it's no longer a continuous blast. The prana is released in a burst, much like a bullet from a gun.
This spell is basically Kinou's bread and butter when it comes to offense. It's also her favorite. It takes three lines to activate the first shot, but afterwards, she can shoot it as many times as she wants.
Blessing of Delphina (Immaterial)
Rank: E
Cost: 5 Pr
Range: None
Effect: A spell that can heal minor wounds and revitalize Kinou if she's exhausted.
The spell runs a minimal amount of prana from the Eye into Kinou's magic circuits, which can heal minor wounds like shallow cuts and minor fractures, but not fatal wounds. Also, it can revitalize Kinou to a small extent, so that she can get back on her feet if she's exhausted. However, it cannot restore her prana (the spell actually costs prana) and, if she truly is near death, the spell doesn't help at all.
This spell is basically a reverse imagining of the Eye's original spell, "The flames of Elysium." Instead of overloading Kinou's prana to the point where she combusts, it lends her a minimal amount to get her back on her feet.
Kinou also uses this spell on long nights where she looses a lot of sleep. It takes a few syllables to activate.
Delphina's Protection (Immaterial)
Rank: B
Cost: 70
Range: 6 meters
Effect: Protects Kinou from physical and magical attacks for 5 minutes.
This spell uses both the prana of the Eye and the bounded field containing it. Kinou projects a layer of the bounded field into the world, surrounding her and creating a wall-like barrier of prana around her. The bounded field stops any magical attacks with a rank of B or lower, and any physical attacks with a rank of A or lower. Inside the barrier, Kinou can also fire off attacks at enemies while being protected by the field.
The downside is that, being a bounded field, Kinou can't move inside it. So if an attack spell of A breaks through the barrier, Kinou will take the full force of the attack. She can shut the barrier off at any time, but it will take five lines to both activate and deactivate.
Harmonic Gate-Shatterwave Aurora-! (Immaterial)
Rank: A
Cost: 200-1,000 Pr
Range: 104 meters
Effect: Kinou's most powerful spell, a powerful attack using the Eye of Harmony's full potential.
By removing the Eye of Harmony from "Cannon," and partially undoing the bounded fields keeping the power of the Eye in check, Kinou can unleash an incredible blast of prana so powerful it can level a small city.
It takes 12 lines to initiate the spell. After undoing some of the bounded fields around the Eye, Kinou creates a gap so the prana of the eye can escape. She concentrates that raw power and focuses it into one extremely powerful bullet using the remaining bounded fields. The initiation of the spell looks very much like a giant laser cannon made entirely out of bounded fields and prana.
The ultimate flaw in this powerful spell is that it overloads Kinou's magic circuits with prana. In other words, using this spell means certain death for Kinou. So this spell can only be used if Kinou is put in a position where she was going to die anyway, so she might as well take the opponent with her.
Another huge flaw is the casting time. It's a twelve line incantation, which makes the spell impossible to use if the battle has already begun. Finally, the blast radius makes it impossible to use in public areas, where there would be a huge amount of causalities. Since the fighting is going to take place in the city, it'll be close to impossible to use the spell without killing tons of innocent people.
