First of all, this forum is very beautifully done ;p

Second, it's just something I did and I don't force my ideas anywhere but I find it to work perfectly well for my forum - IRC channel which can be accessed without having irc client.

To give a more official response. I use(d) IRC myself, but the forum characters likely prefer to use their character names which can easily end up being registered by other members of this rather big Client Network.

We have 3 boxes now for multiple purposes and can control them, and an alternate chat function. People can also get into contact on MSN/Skype etc. if they want.

The board won't open an own IRC Channel, until further notice.

True about characters name - unlikely they are not registered already and even if I seeked different channels out, someones name would always be taken already. Nevertheless, keep your options open. IRC has possibility of private talks, kicking trolls and lack of advertisement bots, also changing topics to leave important announcement for everyone to read - but you probably are aware of all of this already

What I wanted to share most were those two programs - mibbit and the other one. They require no installation of irc client and are completely free
