TITLE: // Nothings

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: // Nothings are difficult to describe. They are black, with fluid forms about the size of a notebook. They are not really solid, being formed of ether, held together only by the stickiness of their bodies. In general, they form in the blobbish shapes. If there are many Nothings in an area, they will combine to form larger Nothings, or even other monsters. Nothings can get as large as a human being before they reform into another monster.

INFORMATION: //
Nothings are the unintentional biproducts of the corrupt Grail and monsters. They will form where ever a monster is from the excess essense of the monsters, and thus are the key to tracking monsters. Where ever a monster is or has been, you are sure to find Nothings.

Nothings are exceedingly easy to kill, dying from exposure to light and heat, making fire the best weapon against them. Nothings have small amounts of odo in them, practically loose, and thus increase a magus's ability by being near, with magic use acting as the "spark" which consumes them as fuel.

Areas infested by Nothings are generally dark areas, and their presence automatically lowers the temperature around them by a good ten degrees. They like finding small corners to lay in as they integrate more Nothings into their body. It is not uncommon for a Nothing to go into industrial warehouses, where things are kept cold in the interest of preserving cargo.

If Nothings do attack, then do not be surprised of they do so en-mass, swarming the target with large groups. This is generally ineffective against magi, as the usage of prana itself is enough to consume them. Generally though, they prefer to hide, only attacking if their hiding spot is discovered.

SPECIAL ABILITIES: //
Combine
Nothings are able to combine with each other, up to 100 times, in order to create larger Nothings. As they combine, they gain more power, eventually becoming Greater Nothings (Which occurs when 100 Nothings have combined).

Empower
Whenever any type of magic is used in their presence, Nothings immediately change form to that type of magic, strengthening the spell by 1/2 a magnitude when used while a swarm is present(e.g. Using a spell that is D level will get bumped up to D+ level). Servants can take advantage of this, by absorbing Nothings within themselves, they can gain prana to sustain themselves (In general it takes ten "basic" nothings to give 1 Prana. The more nothings that have combined, the more they prana they are worth). Of course, would anyone be stupid enough to stick the droppings of the dark grail in their mouths? Would they?

TITLE: // Greater Nothings
RANK: // Anti-Human
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: // Greater Nothings are what occurs when 100 nothings have combined. They are similar to their less powerful counterparts, but with several key differences. They are human sized, resistant to heat, and can even stay in sunlight for short periods of time. They generally take smokey, hazy forms that change moment to moment.

INFORMATION: //
Greater Nothings are the result of 100 Nothings combining. They are smarter, faster, and definately malicious. They retain the ability to take any shape, but can also compress their bodies into solid forms, allowing them to attack. Unlike regular Nothings, they have a more definate intelligence, able to do more then the binary fight or hide responce of regular Nothings. Greater Nothings use ambushes in fights, and work in pairs.

Greater Nothings are much more stable then their less powerful counterparts, able to withstand light and heat for a few minutes, but still are vulnerable to these. Magic no longer can kill them from simply being used, but they still implode into prana with relative ease from exposure to it if it penetrates their essence. If Nothings are Nitroglycerine, then Greater Nothings are Dynamite. Greater Nothings also have a new weakness. If their essence is spread out to far (By a wind spell or an explosion as an example), they will revert back to being several Nothings.

Greater Nothings can be found in much the same places as regular nothings. Because their essences are much more protected, they can also venture out into low-lit rooms (such as restaraunts or movie theaters). Greater Nothings also have the urge to absorb smaller nothings to increase their power. When a Greater Nothing is present, then the temperature in the room will drop to freezing, allowing a person to see their own breath, and causing ice crystals to form where they stand (if they have legs)

The most dangerous ability of a Greater Nothing is it's ability to transmogrify itself into other monsters. They generally form the monster that the majority of the original Nothings were formed from when they were spawned, though there have been exceptions. They also may transmogrify themselves around the corpses of existing beings, such as dogs or birds. This process is slower and produces smaller monsters, but makes said monsters harder to kill, due to keeping the full amount of essence that the original Greater Nothing had.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: //
Consume
Greater Nothings can consume regular nothings for energy, giving them greater power and more defense. The limit to this is unknown, though it is estimated to be around 500. Greater Nothings are incapable of consuming other monsters other then Nothings.

Empower
Because Greater Nothings are much more stable then regular Nothings, it is much harder to get a boost in spell power from them. However, if a magus casts a spell in extreme close proximity, or from inside the Nothing, it will boost the spell a powerlevel up (E class spell becomes D class). However this is not recommended

Harden
Because of how dense Greater Nothings are in od, they can compress parts of their body into a solid mass with similar consistancy to metal for short amounts of time. It can use this ability to create either armor or weapons. This allows it to attack normal humans or even magi head on with near human skill, and makes them a terrible foe against anyone without magic.

Transmogrify
Greater Nothings are the "basic" form of most grail monsters. After absorbing particular amounts of nothings, a greater nothing will change it's form to a more solid one, becoming a more specialized and much more terrifying grail monster. They can also use this to corrupt corpses and use them as basic templates for other monsters, in a more generalized form of the Dark Grail's monster creation power.
