[li]Collected
- As long as he has a grasp of the situation, Jacob can keep his head in a crisis, managing to make logical decisions when others would be frozen in fear.
[/li][li]Meticulous
- He never goes into a situation without doing his homework, whenever possible. He tries to gather as much information as possible on a situation before he walks into it, trying to ensure that he can obtain his goal with as little cost and as little risk as possible.
[/li][li]Adaptable
- Jacob is a quick learner. Once he gets over his initial shock, he begins to assess the situation, gathering information to improve his decision making process. With his available Knowledge, he can quickly adjust his plans as the situation changes.
[/li][li]Realist
- Inherited from his father, Jacob tends to view the world somewhat less optimistically then most to an almost cynical degree. That is not to say he doesn’t have high hopes for the future of civilization as much as wondering how civilization will be able to overcome its less intelligent members.
[/li][li] Curious
- Coming from a family of scholars, Jacob has developed an intense interest in understanding things. From mechanical systems to human behavior, he is always willing to put off far more time then he should to study some fascinating little bauble he comes across. Sometimes, he will risk for more than is reasonable in order to continue studying something

STRENGTHS: Jacob’s greatest asset is his probably sitting in between his ears. A voracious reader, he possesses knowledge of a vast array of topics, though not all of it is obviously useful. His real skill comes from sifting through all this information and finding the pieces that can actually help him. Combined with a decidedly un-magus like proficiency with modern technology, he can quickly gather intelligence on whatever enemy might show up
WEAKNESSES: Jacob’s greatest weakness isn’t his inexperience, but his indecisiveness. Jacob has never been good at making decisions, especially in high-pressure situation. The more time he has to think about it, the more likely he is to waver when he should not.

MY FAMILY LINE: At a little over 3 generations, or 200 years, old, the Archer Family is a fairly recent addition to the mage association. Originally hailing from southern England, the family was formed in the early 19th century after an internal dispute left the Founders original family completely destroyed, save for himself. Without a Family Crest, he decided to start a new family and rid himself of any connection to his former bloodline.
The Archer Family has an impressive prana capacity for such a new family, averaging 2.25 PrC across 28 Circuits for a total of 63 Pr. This is useful for the Archers Thermaturgical specialty: Material Transmutation, better known by its sub-types, Alteration and Reinforcement. Often ridiculed for being inefficient, The Archer Family has managed to work with it in part due to their Sorcery trait Attrition, With Drastically improves the speed at which Reinforcement and alteration actions can be formed at the cost of increasing the spells cost and reducing the overall effectiveness of the spell. Despite the limitations, The trait allows them to utilize Alteration and Reinforcement far more effectively than most magus.
While being in the Mage association gives them access to the groups vast knowledge base and vast resources, their young age leaves them cast-outs within the group. Thus, the tend to distance themselves from the Mage Association when possible, Avoiding the Association’s cut-throat politics and preferring to pursue their family research. This research can take them to the far corners of the earth, far from the associations usual sphere of influence. There are, however, members of the family who would rather improve the Family’s reputation within the association.
MY HISTORY: Britain. Japan. Italy. United States. Australia. These are the nations Jacob Archer has called Home. Born May 22, just days after his parents arrived in the US, pursuing several artifacts for their research. He spent the next 9 years there before his parents moved them back to the family Estate in Britain to intervene in some family Politics.
The Eldest son and Heir to the Archer Family, Jacob has grown up surrounded by a family of scholars, and it rubbed off on him. Now 19, he’s currently traveling to find something to add to the families second most important heirloom after the family crest – The Puzzle Box, a bizarre sort of clock-work chest, the result of two centuries of mechanical and Thermaturgical alterations and add-ons.
His first stop is the City of Lucca on a piece of family Business. His Uncle Michael Archer is supposed to be in the city. However, a little over a week ago he stopped responding to any mail or phone calls. With rumors of a grail war in the area, his father wanted somebody to look in on the situation, and Jacob happened to be the closest since he was the only member of the family in Italy. Out of part curiosity and part family obligation, Jacob has made his way to Lucca to check out the situation. Whats the worst that could happen?

MY GOALS: Survive the war, and grab an impressive souvenir while maybe avoiding collateral damage.
