"Useless."
FULL NAME: //Padrig Driald
AGE: // Fourty
GENDER: // Male
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: // 6'0, tall, muscular.
INFORMATION: //
History (For more information, refer to Cardwyn's profile):
The 19th successor of the Driald line, he went insane when his wife died giving birth to Cardwyn. He has regular fits of insanity, especially when thinking about her, and has turned kind of sadistic. He imprisoned his own daughter for most of her life, and broke her mental state to pieces.
Padrig ordered his daughter into the Grail War and she obeyed. However, he still believes innately that she is useless, and thus keeps a close eye on her through familiars placed in what was supposed to be her base of operations, and other minor agents withing Italy. He does not go out of his way to help her, and knows she will kill him upon meeting him with her eyes.
So instead he waits for her to gain strength or power, and perhaps, at best take her place if she fails. The likelyhood he will do this can be measured by the number 0, however. If she gets too far out of line, or loses her Servant he may just be rid of her altogether. He has not seen her for three years.
Equipment:
Actus Reus: A slightly dull one sided blade. Along the back of it are numerous compartments with thin nearly invisible wires, that flow out with each sweep of the weapon, and recoil back up if they do not connect with anything.
Basically the wires act like a fishing rod and cast out looking to connect with something. When they do, a slightly hooked and barbed tip latches on to clothing, skin, or even joints in armour. It can even wrap around weapons. With this connection between Padrig and the target he can burden their equipment using alchemy through them.
While not a Mystic Code this is the family's symbol of justice. It is near unbreakable from generations of modification, at least in standard combat, and the wires can be easily replaced by Padrig. The mastery and training required to use this thing is immense, and it does not function amazingly well as a sword, but does its job.
The wire length extends 30 meters twined within the compartments on the sword and hilt. 10 wires can search with every swing, but they are not guided by prana, instead movement. At most, however, the wires will extend 18 meters on a swing, and the other twelve as slack. The wires can be taken out by direct strikes, but tend to be difficult to remove unless someone has cutting weapons.Or they take off their clothes.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: //
Twenty Two Circuits at 5 PrC, for 110 total.
Mystic Eyes of The Unburdened Scales (Conceptual Elements "Acceptance" and "Regret")
Rank: Silver
Cost: : 55 Prana
Range: Eye contact, up to 15 meters
Effect: The eyes of the magus create a small contract between the magus and target, causing both the magus and the target to relive the moment of their darkest deed, from the point of their victim. While there are occasional sociopaths who may resist this, it tends to be highly effective, unless a person has not committed an act that has caused death or pain of another. The actual moment passed in the connection is approximately a quarter of a second.
This can be used on the same opponent more than once, but the brain somewhat shuts down the memory because of the traumaticness of it, and makes it difficult to target again within the same 72 hour period. If used before then it will not take their second worst act, but instead fail. This is somewhat similar to Mystic Eyes of Illusion. This is technically Cardwyn's Mystic Code
Finally this requires complete eye contact to actually work properly, even glasses may limit it to just an illusion, and the target does not receive any emotions from it like that.
While this can be countered by a magus by flooding their circuits with prana to keep out the mental interference, it must be expected, as it happens at instant speed. If the circuits are just full of prana and one does not expect this to come it has no effect.
Against Servants, since they technically live 'new' lives when being summoned as they are copies, it will only look for memories that have happened since being summoned.
In addition, because the body of a servant is not the same as a human, they will not feel any physical sensations of the victim during the Mystic Eyes, but instead only recieve the emotional feedback.
Magic resistance of C and higher will cause the servant to be aware of the illusion, but not feel the emotions, or the pain . However Cardwyn will still experience the full pain behind it.
Padrig will not use these unless he is dying.
Weight of the Blindfold (Burdening, Specifically Earth Alchemy)
Rank: D
Cost: Varies, based on how much the weight of an object is increased. It is approximately a pound per 2 prana to increase the weight, capping at usually around eight times the objects weight
Range: Touch[/i]
Effect: Decreased to single action because of the thaumaturgy, it increases the weight of an object, if they would be receptive to strengthening. This can technically target a body part, but the ease of it being washed away is almost funny. Things such as legendary weapons, or weapons without actual form or substance would not be affected, as it has to be able to be strengthened for it to work. A minor side effect is that if an object is burdened it cannot be strengthened, and vice versa.
The most effective part of this comes not from the wear an opponent would suffer when lifting such a weight, but rather the change in wielding. A person trained in firearms with his own weapon suddenly heavier, more difficult to aim, will suffer loss in accuracy, while martial weapons may be even more disadvantaged as the change in weight shifts the way a weapon must be used rather drastically.
Shifting Scales (Burdening, Specifically Earth Alchemy)
Rank: C
Cost: 10
Range: Touch[/i]
Effect: : Since one can get over a change of weight if it lasts long enough the fifth magus in Cardwyn’s line developed a sort of alternating set of switches that can turn a burdened object on and off, in specific areas allowing the constant varying of an objects weight from normal weight to about three times heavier and in between. To change the weight of an object that is affected by this simply requires a touch of prana. This cannot be maintained if the object moves more than fifteen meters from the magus. This has the same minor effect as weight of the blindfold, in that a strengthened object cannot be targeted with this, and an object burdened cannot be strengthened.
Chains of Justice (Burdening, Specifically Earth Alchemy)
Rank: B
Cost: 25
Range: Touch. If the target moves further away than fifteen it no longer works.[/i]
Effect:A burden specifically designed for targeting the opponent’s body parts from the seventh generation of Cardwyn’s family. Instead of interfering with the body’s natural processes it simply over stimulates perhaps a single leg of an opponent and makes a quick change in the way the muscles react to nervous responses, overproducing lactic acid, tiring out that body part much, much faster. However as this is still an interference spell if prana is flowing through the Magus’ circuits at the time this will not work. A magus could also reset their muscle back to its original condition if they had enough knowledge in altering their own body. This can last an extraordinary amount of time, up to an hour of the muscle overproducing lactic acid, which can painfully cramp the muscle in less than a minute of exertion.
--This next part is the only ability not stolen from Cardy's profile--
Unique Swordsmanship: Padrig has wielded his special weapon for twenty years now, and has trained it to the point of it being almost an additional limb. He does not need to control the wires with prana, as he knows exactly where they will land. He is the best possible human wielder of his unique weapon, something that probably no other human can use.
FACE CLAIM: //Dycedarg Beoulve, Final Fantasy Tactics.
OTHER INFORMATION: // He pretty much exists to either die, or never show up. At best he might fight an ally of Cardwyn's or her and die. Seriously, he is not going to be around long, if he is ever used. Just need to get posting him out of the way. And his weapon requires years of training pretty much, so no one can just pick it up and use it.
