- Almighty Chef
- BEOWULF was the leader of a roving band of mercenaries. More often than not, they can and will get lost in the middle of some godforsaken waste somewhere. This is why BEOWULF has studied the noble art of cuisine: to prevent his people from descending into Magic Mushroom-Madness or Cannibalism.
- Glory Hunter
- BEOWULF is out for a good fight, plain and simple. However, this isn't because he's some sick psycho. Rather, it is because he wants his Name to be known throughout the land, the world... the COSMOS!
- Undercover Nerd
- BEOWULF is almost ashamed to admit this, but he must! BEOWULF started his foray into the seedy underworld out of curiosity, only to realize that in fact, there are hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of heroes that he has scarcely heard of, from Achilles of Troy to Xena, Warrior Princess. This, however, has only fueled his drive, as he now has COMPETITION.
- Rated M for MANLY (and Money)
- BEOWULF is a MAN. Truly, the very paragon of MANliness. He practically exudes TESTOSTERONE from every single pore. Because he's a MAN. His MANliness MANifests itself in rather obvious ways.
He loves a good drink, and barring that, lots of it. He's so MANly that he never gets drunk!
BEOWULF is affable enough. He loves people, and it is not surprising to guess that he is responsible for many a kegger-bachelor party, despite not actually knowing the other people, but that's beyond the point... indeed, the only reason that he is chaotic neutral, and not good is because he has this rather nonchalant attitude towards death and destruction - totally not unreasonable for a warrior of his caliber, but for normal people...? Yeah.
Did I mention that he is a MAN?
- BEOWULF is a MAN. Truly, the very paragon of MANliness. He practically exudes TESTOSTERONE from every single pore. Because he's a MAN. His MANliness MANifests itself in rather obvious ways.

STRENGTHS: //
HE IS BEOWULF! It is impossible to constrain his pure MANliness to a single list of strengths, but he must try. HE IS ALL MUSCLE! He, with the strength of thirty men, can smite anyone with his FISTS! Furthermore, despite his MANLY PHYSIQUE, he is deceptively fast, capable of grappling and sparring with the best of them.
WEAKNESSES: //
BEOWULF has no weaknesses! He finds it absurd that you would think to even ASK! BEOWULF has little to fear from anyone! Furthermore, BEOWULF also does not believe in the concept of restraint! Either go all out, or do not bother! BEOWULF, however, must admit that he detests most forms of weapons. Why? Because they keep breaking in his hands.
(Read: Beowulf is brash, plain and simple. Furthermore, he is rather predictable as a result of this - he's not one to give up a chance at glory. He is also against the idea of energy conservation - meaning that he is rather wasteful of his strength. Heck, he fights like you'd play a hack and slash. Also, he doesn't handle weapons well.)

MY LEGEND: //
THE LEGEND OF BEOWULF!
MY HISTORY: //
Beowulf, Son of Edgetho, is a Hero, plan and simple. He has performed MANy feats, the most noticeable of them being his famed race against Brecca, swimming across the sea, wearing his chainmail and sword, amidst a storm. However, despite his deeds, Beowulf has never outgrown his father's shadow, constantly being introduced as the Son of Edgetho and Hygelac's Sister, never as himself.
All of that changed when he heard of Hrothgar's woes. Immediately embarking upon a perilous journey across the sea, Beowulf met with the King of Danes. He was there to presumably repay a favor that Edgetho owed Hrothgar, when in actuality, he was there only to attain the glory inherent of slaying a mighty demon, the descendant of Cain himself: Grendel. And so it went. He would, along with his retainers, wait in Heorot, alone, and do battle with Grendel. In the dead of the night, the demon arrived, a savage monstrosity. The Geats' mere weapons of war availed them naught, until Beowulf stepped in, and WITH THE STRENGTH OF 30 MEN tore Grendel's arm off, forcing the demon to flee.
This, however, only enraged Grendel's mother, who arrived at Heorot to claim vengeance, only assassinating a few to catch Beowulf's attention.
She succeeded.
Beowulf immediately set out for Grendel's lair. Here, however, records diverge. While others believe that Beowulf slew the mother as easily as he killed the son, others suggest that Beowulf was, in fact, seduced by Grendel's mother. Those in the latter camp claim that Grendel's mother appeared to him in the form of a beautiful woMAN, promising him riches, power, and above all, glory, if he would only lay with her that night.
As said, there is no conclusive proof leaning towards one or the other, but you cannot dispute the rest. After slaying Grendel and his family, Beowulf finally got what he wanted: the chance to be his own MAN, not Edgetho's son. The rest is history - he returned to Geatland, became Hygelac's loyal retainer, and eventually, King of the Geats. It seemed, then, that Beowulf could do no wrong. All of his foes fell before his might, and Geatland prospered. Yet, the King was plagued by boredom. In his old age, he had little to do, nothing comparable to his old days.
Then came the Dragon. Taking a cue from Fafnir, it slumbered atop a pile of treasure, only to awaken when a Geat stole a piece of its hoard. Rather than to offer reparations, Beowulf saw this as an escape from his days of silence, and rushed out to battle the Dragon. It was to be his swan song, ending with both Beowulf's and the Dragon's deaths.
With Beowulf's death, the Geats fell, for their SWEDISH neighbors were swift to capitulate on Beowulf's fall, swiftly conquering Geatland. Now, little can be seen of Beowulf's legacy, save for a tomb in a remote village... undisturbed... Beowulf's Barrow.
MY GOALS: // To become the most GLORIOUS of all heroes.
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause

Hrunting: An ancestral sword, given to him by Unferth, Hrothgar's advisor, Hrunting's value seems to be purely cosmetic. Beowulf never uses it.
NOBLE PHANTASM: //
Hrunting-
Title: Kinslayer / Coward's Oath
Type: Passive
Rank: C
Range: 0 - 15 Meters
Maximum Number of Targets: Whoever hits him.
Hrunting symbolizes Unferth's cowardice and treachery, as well as BEOWULF's gullibility and weakness: BEOWULF thought the best and worst of Unferth, believing that the lesser man was truly capitulating honestly, rather than surrendering the responsibility of slaying Grendel's mother. As a result, he is contractually bound to carry it till the end of days.
However, he can cast it aside for a time, at the cost of prana. Hrunting's treachery now protects him, as it lashes out against BEOWULF's foes as they attack him, injuring them for a fifth of the foe's hit. This protection retaliates against all attacks leveled against Beowulf, save for the killing blow, because, then, Hrunting's original purpose has been fulfilled.
Barrow-
Title: Blade of the Cosmos / The Sword that Smites Evil
Type: Support
Rank: B
Range: Support
Maximum Number of Targets: NA
Barrow is the unnamed Giant-sword that BEOWULF used to slay Grendel's mother, and broke upon the dragon's scales. Yet, this was not out of virtue the dragon's strength, but of BEOWULF's fury and power. The best way to describe it is: Frickin' huge, and pimped out.
As a Noble Phantasm, it is summoned to BEOWULF, ready to be wielded. However, it is no mere sword. One of the few blades that do not immediately break in BEOWULF's hands, it is strange in that it apparently has no inertia when BEOWULF swings it around, leading to some staggeringly complex and swift moves. At the same time, however, it retains its mass when striking, meaning that it still hurts as much. Chalk it up to fake physics.
Title: Beowulf's Barrow
Type: Support
Rank: A+
Range: Support
Maximum Number of Targets: NA
Beowulf's Barrow is the ultimate sacrifice. It is attained when BEOWULF shatters Barrow. This must be a conscious choice, or otherwise, the sword will not break. This is reminiscent of BEOWULF's battle against the dragon, the point where he decides to be a true hero, yielding his life in exchange for those of his people.
The act of shattering Barrow releases all of the sword's power, directly infusing BEOWULF with it, both physical and divine, because at the moment, he is essentially protected by the Gods, but at the same time, such an influx of power would already consume Beowulf's mind (In other words, this also counts as a Mad Enhancement). Appearance-wise, it grants him a set of armor (see 'Badass Genre Shift Above').
As a result, BEOWULF's stats reach:
STRENGTH: // A++
ENDURANCE: // A+
AGILITY: // B
MANA: // C
LUCK: // E
NOBLE PHANTASM: // NA
However, this burst of power lasts for all of two minutes before it starts tearing apart BEOWULF's physical body, ultimately killing him.
CLASS ABILITIES: //
Mad Enhancement:
A: Boost up all parameters, but in exchange one can no longer think and speak properly.
Furthermore,
SKILLS: //
Battle Continuation A
Capacity to remain fighting even severely wounded. In RPG terms, one would suffer less penalties through damage and still keep their full stats even when close to death. The downside is that they push themselves far over their level and so reduce their abilities to stay alive over long terms, although standing their ground in combat itself. This can be seen in a loss of END.
A: Will remain alive as long as does not receive a fatal injury.
BEOWULF, taking after the fabled Norse Berserkers (not the class), has a natural resistance to pain, capable of getting tossed around, smashed into a cliff, getting drenched, hurled into a shipwreck, get burned, crushed, and even the loss of an arm, and STILL keep going - because...
Bravery A+
Capacity to resist mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination.
A+: Bonus effect of increasing melee damage. (In Heracles's case, it cannot be used due effect of Mad Enhancement)
Why bother having stamina if you do not have the courage to match it? Bravery is a must-have for Berserkers, second nature to heroes, and FIRST NATURE for BEOWULF!
Golden Rule B
Measures one's fortune to acquire wealth.
It was Anglo-Saxon nature for heroes and kings to trade gifts. It is rare to see a hero truly want for wealth, since they were in a king's (or two... or three... or four... or, you get the point) good graces.
AND BEOWULF IS THE HERO OF HEROES!
Charisma C
The talent to lead an army.
Good sir, BEOWULF is a King, nay, he is MORE THAN A KING! In fact, were the title not already taken, he might have been the KING OF HEROES! Regardless, the force of his presence and voice of comMANd is enough for his undefended self to scare off a raider, or to prevent rival countries from invading his lands.
BECAUSE HE IS BEOWULF!
STRENGTH: // B+
ENDURANCE: // B
AGILITY: // C
MANA: // C
LUCK: // B
NOBLE PHANTASM: // A+

The above is without Mad Enhancement. When ME is in use, he loses his Charisma and Golden Rule. Because, face it, you can't really claim gifts or words when you're foaming at the mouth.
