- Wildly Enthusiastic
- Kotori is extremely bright, cheerful, and even a bit wild. She is known to be hyperactive and she is known to talk extremely fast when she's being stubborn. She's fast to accept new ideas to the point where she's like a newborn hatchling trying to make sense of her surroundings by accepting anything and everything without prejudice or bothering to scan through the new knowledge with proven facts
- Playful and Cheeky
- She likes to throw in humorous remarks during conversations and likes to mimic her teacher Aozaki Touko when she's not around the apartment. Her mimicry of Touko has gotten so good lately that it's started to get annoying for the one being mimicked. Under the belying guise of a playful cheeky prankster she is quite intelligent and does a fantastic job of hiding it.

- Cute is my Weapon
- When she knows she's in trouble or is about to be scolded she tries to use her cuteness to try to mull it over by pretending to be an idiot. Sadly with the number of times she's tried this on Touko it's not very effective, rather it has the opposite effect of bringing out a more severe punishment than what was originally intended.
- Hiding behind a mask
- Kotori still carries the mental scars from her past and they don't seem very apparent behind her steel mask of smiles. It's a mental barrier she's developed over the years trying to move on from the past by acting as if nothing happened while continuously deluding herself, praying one day she'll simply forget all about it. A task that seems infinitely impossible given the nature of her uncontrollable power that set things to burst into flames if she stared for too long. It shows bit by bit in her general personality, her unwillingness to stare at someone when talking to them, tendency to keep communication to a minimal in fear of hurting someone with her eyes. She fools both herself and others into thinking she is able to put a smile on her face and steer herself forward but behind the facade she's just a fragile person unable to shake off the feelings of guilt and hatred towards herself who became a murderer involuntarily. Although often showing a brave face during times of danger, and quick to debunk bullying and harsh words from others, Kotori is constantly haunted by the memories of the fire which claimed the lives of her parents and her brother, and is shown to suffer from survivor's guilt as a result, which can manifest into extreme self-loathing and suicidal tendencies.

MY HISTORY:
Kotori was born in Lucca, a city in Tuscany, Central Italy, situated on the river Serchio in a fertile plain near the Tyrrhenian Sea. She spent most of her childhood in Lucca.
She lived a comfortable, happy life with her father Aaron, who was a dean of historical arts at Sapienza University of Rome and also owned a rare antique store in the heart of Lucca, her mother, and her older brother Susumu. Unlike her brother who was quiet and reserved, Kotori was an imaginative and creative girl, immersed in her imagination and dreams of becoming a magical girl. She never truly understood why her father treated them differently as her brother was treated with strict schooling both in school as well as his private lessons at home with her father. Throughout her childhood she felt as though she was left in the dark about something only her brother and father were aware of but she didn't think much of it both at the time and currently as she believed her brother possessed a greater potential for whatever it was he was learning from her father.
During the course of one winter night however, she mustered the courage to investigate her father’s study, a place where she was strictly told was forbidden for her to enter under any circumstances. A windowless room where the only source of light was usually from a candle, she was startled to see strange pulsating red glow eerily illuminating the dark room. Her first instinct told her to quietly walk out of the room but her curiosity got the best of her and she progressed on, walking in poorly lit room strewn with books, papers and stands carrying flasks of strangely colored liquids. Wanting to get a better look at the source of this light she tried to climb on top of the tall desk by grabbing on the edge of the table but as she lost her footing she panicked and grabbed at the air. By the time she felt sharp pain on the back of her head and below she realized she fell from the height, grabbing onto whatever her small hands can grab onto, a bunch of papers, a book and a glowing liquid like substance that splashed across her eyes as she fell down.
Her vision was blurry with tears and strange mixtures and she cried and panicked. Before she knew it a supernatural fire was started within the Bernstein household and she lost consciousness as the fires engulfed the study. Although seriously burnt, Kotori managed to escape with her life by being thrown out of a window by her father, but the rest of her family were less fortunate, and Kotori was forced to witness them incinerated within the fire that destroyed her once beloved home. The event had a huge impact on her mentality, and she soon fell into a deep slumber.
By the time she woke up, she realized she was on a hospital bed with her limbs paralyzed and unable to see with her eyes as though something invisible prevented her from moving her eyelids open. All she could do was breathe and listen to the voices of those surrounding her. Though she was unfamiliar with the hospital or it’s staff she was somehow certain that the people that surrounded her un-moving body weren't doctors but they carried a similar air about them like her father did. Perhaps they were fellow scholars or old colleagues from the same line of work. By the time she did wake up, still unable to see, she regretted regaining her senses when she felt the third degree burns all over her body.
She spent several years in special care, still unknowing where she was or how long she would have to spend on a hospital bed with the only sensation that reminded her she was alive was the burns she felt on her skin day and night. Her burns were fully healed in a year and she was soon discharged. That same night as she was waiting for her doctor to discharge her, she was visited by a woman who claimed to have been an old acquaintance of her father's line of business as an antique collector. Though she didn't understand how she was related to her father it would have appeared as though they were long time business partners as clients for the other's line of business.
She explained to her of her current condition as a form of contamination in her eyes and she would have to wear a pair of glasses to keep herself from harming others. She explained in great lengths of her condition but due to her unfamiliarity with the terms she used to explain it Kotori never fully understood her explanation other than the fact that her eyes could set things on fire and to prevent it she was forced to wear the glasses for everyone's protection. That and the mysterious word that lingered on her mind, was that she was a Magus born.
For her to adjust her life from living a comfortable life sheltered by her parents to a life of borderline poverty she had to keep herself strong and motivated to move on, and it wasn't easy at first. As the heiress to her family's fortune, or what remained of it in her father's antique stores she was highly tempted to sell everything but in the end decided to cherish all of her father's worldly possessions as a memento, but to do that she had to find employment. She gradually found several jobs from delivering newspapers early in the morning to working as an assistant in the local bakery to support herself. Kotori had buried the things that troubled her behind the steel mask of smiles she donned ever since she was discharged from the hospital and would have continued living a comparatively normal life had her glasses never cracked under her growing power dwelling inside her eyes.
With one lens cracked and the other barely holding back her powers in check, she desperately searched for the maker of her glasses with only her name to guide her. Aozaki Touko.
MY GOALS: As silly as it sounds, she still has lingering affections to her childish dreams of becoming a magical girl who can save the countless people who desperately needs help. She earnestly believes in the existence of magic and possess a strong desire to become someone capable of achieving miracles as a magical girl.

EQUIPMENT: Mystic Eye Killers [Glasses]
RANK: Magical Student Rank
ELEMENT: Fire
EXPERTISE:
Mixed Martial Arts: Kotori has managed to pick up several martial arts when she became independent as free classes were always available to her. Much of what she learned and digested was then put together to compile a mix of improvised martial arts for her self defense. Her forte lies with martial arts that involve fast and powerful kicks such as taekwondo, muay thai.
Mystic Eyes: A result of crest contamination from her childhood when she stumbled across it in her father's study by accident. As the 2nd child she was never formally taught in magecraft and so she has little to no control over the power. Never the less, in a dangerous situation it's become her greatest weapon and with proper magical knowledge it could be sharpened further.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: 3 circuits with 6 prana each, for a total of 18 prana.
SPELLS:
Mystic Eyes of Pyrokinetic Combustion. (Fire)
Rank: C
Cost: 2-4 Pr
Range: 17.5m
Mystic Eyes of Pyrokinetic Combustion is triggered from a magic circuit that lies between the optical nerve and the central retinal vein that opens up a channel which in turn allows the brain to recognize and perceive points of origin. It appears in the visual forms of red stains or blotches of red hue one would be able to observe through a Infrared camera. As one would expect it follows the general laws of all Mystic Eyes in that it is invisible to normal people and cannot be perceived through ordinary means.
Without her glasses her world looks something like the following picture.
A spontaneous combustion is triggered when the eyes focus on a specific ripple and only when the color changes from red to white the combustion is actualized. This time taken to change the color differs from several factors both natural and artificial. As mentioned above the ripples are harder to discover inside a large body of water and even when they are discovered it would take anywhere between a minute to 5 minutes to actualize a small combustion, likewise in natural surrounding atmosphere where combustion rarely occurs such as a ice skating rink or a field of snow the time taken would increase. The maximum range for the eyes to work is 17 and a half metres, which amounts to better than average eyesight.
Her powers also seldom work effectively against beings that carries knowledge of countering her abilities by running prana through their magic circuits. Most often her abilities are unable to ignite a trained Magus as their ripples are comparatively smaller than ordinary existence, and it takes longer for her to actualize combustion. A Magician is also able to tell a distinct difference when her ability is fixed onto them as they would usually feel a sensation of overwhelming heat threatening to explode inside them. It's not unusual for a normal Magus to sense a heat developing inside them and by 10 seconds they are able to tell from the sweat that a supernatural effect is threatening to penetrate through their magical immunity.
Her powers also cannot interfere with the existence of conceptual weapons or artifacts, magical barriers and bounded fields, but the surroundings of said existences can be ignited. It's within reasonable doubt that due to her severe lack of magecraft knowledge she is unable to effectively adapt her abilities and develop them further. It's possible for her to become more powerful with a guidance from a knowledgeable Magus.

MISC. INFORMATION:
I think I tried to fill in as much as I can to the best of my knowledge so far. I'm sure there are plenty of things that would need to be altered as I'm admittedly not as familiar with the nasuverse as I'd like to admit. On a side note, I did collaborate some of these ideas with Touko in advance and have sought out Touko's personal opinions to try and pick up most loopholes before submitting this in. I just pray this is enough to participate in the rp here. I feel as though I should have somehow added something about when and how she picked up martial arts during her life after she was discharged from the hospital but never really added it because I felt it was slightly out of place to add it in there, it felt like I was breaking the flow of things. For those curious I had her planned out as an individual who became a friendly regular in lucca who knew most shopkeepers by names and were on friendly term with most people, including dojo instructors. She would often get free stuff whenever she went out shopping and come home with a mountain of food half out of sympathy but also leaning more towards good will. After adding this in I was going to add in the martial arts part but couldn't find a good opening to add it in there. Other than that I think I covered everything I wanted to. [/ul][/ul]
