[] Enjoy your terrible Houyi post bout moooons. :V []
She never got tired of the night sky.
True Houyi couldn't see the stars like she used to. Too much light pollution keeping the sky from shinning at it’s brightest; yet, the archer of legend could still make out a few specks of starlight peeking through the cover. Houyi breathed softly, letting the breeze toy with her hair. She’d taken the moment to pull her hood down and just stare intently at the moon. It was hard not to when the object of your, what, affection? Obsession? It was hard to tell by this point, was right in front of you.
She had tried to find the highest point to perch her-self on. Get a good view of the city and any potential fights that might have risen to the point of collateral damage. Houyi had intended to spend the night searching the area from her superior height, maybe even engaging in battle but…well…
She should be focused. Her will should be like that of steel, like how she was when she dealt with the horrors of china. But now, here Houyi was, willpower melting away at the sight of the thing she desired most.
Simple things. That’s what Houyi always wanted. Not glory, not a kingdom, not her legend. Just simple things. A perfect day where she could practice her bow with the archers to be children, where she could eat in peace with her people, where she could ride the expansive land without worry of monster raids or god’s toying with mortals. Even if she kept her distance, Houyi loved her people. And they loved her. Her wife was the center of her world, but she wasn't the only thing the archer of legend missed.
Deciding she’d spent enough time reminiscing, Houyi reached back and tugged the hems of her hood up. It was time for the archer of lore to get to work.
