PERSONALITY: //
- Competitive
- Renaud was known to be a sore loser and as someone too keen to take part on games and competition. He also had a personal rivalry with his idol Roland, constantly trying to outdo his heroics, never being content on being under the shadow of the 'First Paladin'.
- Hot-Blooded
- Another known trait of his, Rider usually charged head-on on various fights and brawls, either with enemies or friends. Fortunately his anger was mostly directed for those deserving of such, as he tried not to bring harm to any innocents.
- Chivalrous
- A fervent adherent of the Knightly code, even when he was exiled from his fellow Paladins he still helped those in need and kept his honor high while on the run. Even when under his vow of non-violence, he still held his ideals of helping those who needed it high, and such diligence to honor might have been what inspired the rage of the ones who killed him.
- Loyal to those under his care.
- Renaud was known to be devoted to his family and friends, and more than once rode against all odds to rescue them, such as when Richard and Maugris were taken prisoners by Charlemagne during the Montauban siege, and on his hurry to help his fellow peers as they fought on Roncesvalle.
LIKES: //
Family members, Winning games, Bayard, Fighting.
DISLIKES: //
Charlemagne, Losing games, Cowards.
STRENGTHS: //
The second strongest Paladin ever to serve Charlemagne, he was only surpassed by the mighty Roland, he survived many harsh situations, and was the last of his peers to die after finding a relative peace. A formidable warrior on foot, he really shined while fighting atop his loyal and noble steed Bayard, the mightiest warhorse of his time.
An easy-going and friendly type, he is incredibly loyal to family and friends, although some times the 'making' of such friendships can be quite rough and violent depending on the circumstances. He will become an inseparable companion of any Master that catches his fancy, and will probably try to play with him in various games, although that might not end very well.
His Noble Phantasms permit him fast travel and great mobility while in battle, as well as an one-time contingency NP that can save his life while on great danger.
WEAKNESSES: //
Renaud's strong morals and honor, combined with his rebellious tendencies might make his relationship with masters quite shaky, specially if the master is perceived by him as tyrannical and dishonorable.
His recklessness and hatred of trickery and cheating might make him easily fooled by smarter servants, which might be quite likely considering Rider was not the most intelligent person in life.
His strongest attack, which is empowering Bayard by making it become being possessed by the Demon Astaroth, while frighteningly powerful, is terribly unpredictable as the horse becomes out of control, which might make Rider a victim himself of the creature's fury.

MY HISTORY: //
Fight injustice. Protect the weaker. Serve your Emperor.
He followed the first two during all of his life, and the third... He tried to do it as well, despite the very circumstances, and managed to go a good job at it most of the time. Yet, things go awry all the time.
The other stonemasons didn’t knew who that old man with a scarred body and rigid muscles that worked three times harder than men who had only a third of his age, but they knew he was trouble. Their overseer frequently scolded them, calling them lazy slobs who managed to be outpaced by that white-haired geezer, and for that they knew there was only one course of action.
The old man meanwhile continued to reminisce while carrying a large sack of stones. He remembered of his first ever adventure, when a young red-haired firebrand called Renaud, the son of the renowned Count Aymon, entered the Ardennes to tame a great beast that was said to haunt the place. The young man had four beloved brothers and a sister he loved dearly, but he felt that his destiny was yet to be attained, and that a life of adventures awaited for him. Inside the forest he met a Saracen, a man he knew to be an enemy of his religion, but that men also wanted to tame the beast, so they made it a game to see who would be the first one to do so. Renaud was surprised when it turned out the beast was but the most beautiful and terrifying horse he has ever seen, and the surprise turned into panic as the Saracen had his skull bashed in by the vicious steed after his failure to tame it. The young man then did what would be told many times later in drunken celebrations, and punched the horse with a firm fist before jumping and trying to calm the creature. After minutes that felt like hours, the shaking stopped, and the creature became docile. It bore no malice and resentment, knowing that the one who subdued it was strong yet had a honest heart. He named such a magnificent beast Bayard, and that day a legend was born.
The young man and the horse became best friends, and always travelled together. Renaud trained and worked hard, and for such hard work, he was rewarded with the honor that all knights in his country coveted. He became one of the Twelve Peers of Charlemagne, a Paladin. Yet there was something that soured such joy... The young man strived and worked hard to become the best, yet there was another young man that overshadowed him. The First Paladin, Roland, who was a light that made the Second’s fire look dim in comparison. He still became a close friend of Roland, yet the desire to surpass, to ‘win’ from him gnawed at Renaud’s soul, and he tried his best to overshadow Roland’s heroics in the various adventures they had together, such as when he fell madly in love with the sorceress Angelica and clashed with his rival, who was also smitten in passion with her. While eventually the woman chose to take neither of them, the damage was done, and the two were only friends in appearance.
Such resentment from his former friend started to pile up in Renaud’s heart. That resentment and anger exploded on a tragic day, where Renaud, tired of being repeatedly defeated in a game by the nephew of his Emperor Charlemagne, slew the noble while claiming trickery and cheating from his part. Such acts brought consequences, and the Emperor’s fury was focused on Renaud and his family. He ran and regrouped with his four beloved brothers and his cunning wizard cousin as they hid on their family’s castle. Charlemagne’s forces besieged it many times, but whenever they managed to capture Renaud’s family, he always rescued them before they were executed, and after too much blood and tears were shed, the Knight surrendered to his Emperor, hoping that at least his family would be spared from Charlemagne’s wrath. Unfortunately the price of that surrender was too high.
The Emperor ordered the death of Renaud’s closest friend, Bayard. Caught in the midst of his friendship and his family, the Knight had no choice but to surrender the steed to be killed. Bayard, however, eluded all the tentatives of execution that Charlemagne devised, running back to his forest to never return again. To Renaud it was like his closest friend still was killed, and disgusted with such a turn of events, he forsook his sword and armor and gave all his belongings to his son, he headed to the Holy Land and became a wandering hermit. He helped and protected the others like he has done like when he was a knight, only without such noble trappings, a humble man that lived for the others rather than himself. After his exile in Jerusalem, the hermit was now an old man, and chose to spend the final days of his life helping to build a Church at the newly built city of Cologne.
This is where the Old Man’s memories stopped. He wistfully sighed after reminiscing that, and picked up another rock to cut into a block. He noticed the men creeping behind him, chisels and hammers in hand and killer intents on their heads, yet decided to do nothing. His time has come, and he wouldn’t raise his hand against a human being again, not after vowing to do so. He only gave thanks as the blow on the back of his head was powerful enough to bring him to unconsciousness.
MY GOALS: //
Have the honor of being the Holy Grail War's victor, getting reunited with his family!
WEAPON: // Floberge the Flamecutter. A two-handed sword with wavy designs that resemble fire itself, it was inherited from Count Aymon and carried by Rider on his many adventures.
NOBLE PHANTASM: //
Bayard: The Phantom War Horse
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: 1-4
Max Targets: 1.
Renaud's gigantic horse who was tamed by the Paladin in the Ardennes forest. An imposing and large Bay with a shining star on its forehead, it wears sturdy body armor and has incredibly strong hooves who can shatter rocks. Rider has a strong mental link with it, resulted from the long friendship that both have, and he's regarded more as a 'friend' than a mount. Rider's endurance is increased by two ranks while mounting Bayard. The horse itself has as human-like intelligence, and while it cannot speak, it understands human speech, although it's uncooperative with those other than his Master, bordering on hostile depending on how they approach with him. The horse has the uncanny ability to stretch its own body to accommodate multiple persons on its back (although Rider obviously must be on the front). Even when stretched with dozens of people on its backside, Bayard loses none of his speed and power, and always has enough saddles for those on his back. Bayard usually eats grass, but Renaud always treats him with oats and apples.
Bayard usually attacks by charging Rider's enemies at blinding speed and crushing them with his incredibly hard hooves as Renault slashes them with his sword.
At maximum Prana, Bayard can be kept for forty minutes, with the duration reduced by ten minutes every time his [Crushing Stomp] is used.

Bayard: Crushing Stomp of the Warhorse
Rank: B+
Type: Anti-Fortress
Range: 1-30
Max Targets: 10.
As Renaud and his brothers escaped from Charlemagne's army during their time as outlaws, a large river stood in their way to safety. With no time to cross around, the mighty steed quickly jumped from one of the river's edges to the other... And landed at the top of a cliff bordering the riverside, although the sheer impact of the landing was such that the cliff was split in two, and the rock was later named after the horse who did such a prodigious feat.
This Noble Phantasm works much like in the legend, being activated by Bayard starting a long jump. As it lands on the target with its mighty hooves, the impact creates a shockwave much akin to a small localized earthquake or a meteorite impact, smashing or blasting away anything on its area of effect, although those atop Bayard are virtually unharmed by the crash. Structures, natural formations, and even Noble Phantasms made out of rock or related with the element [Earth] are most affected by this attack, being completely split from the top-down, no matter their resistance, yet while extremely effective against structures and the environment per-se, the full might of the attack is concentrated at the point where Bayard lands, with the edges of the area of effect being barely affected more than the seismic shock created by such. Still, a Servant being hit point blank by this will most definitely be crushed by the Steed's hooves.

Rabican: Black Lightning Steed.
Rank: C [D]
Type: Support
The enchanted steed once owned by the Cathay knight Argalia, it was rescued and tamed by Renaud after he defeated a giant and a griffin that guarded it. An unarmored, slim and completely black horse with a white star on his forehead, it's capable of flight due to many enchantments placed on its body and it's faster yet quite physically weaker than Bayard, being unfit to charge enemies with the same ferocity as his fellow mount, which is why Rider uses it only when swift and solo travel is needed or when Bayard is incapacitated. While Rabican is being ridden, Rider's agility is increased by one rank, and it permits the user to flee from combat as if the user had a D-Rank on the [Disengage] skill. Nevertheless, This ability is seldom used by the prideful Renaud...
Due to Rabican originally belonging to Astolfo and Argalia, it cannot grant Renault its flight abilities, as only the Cathay knight knew how to make use of the steed's full capabilities. Still, it can kept around longer than Bayard due to its low Prana consumption, being able to stay out for three hours at full capacity.
