- His most famous trait. Excels at discerning secrets and analyzing others. Can reach correct conclusions from minimal information. As a negative when he is wrong it takes an abnormal amount of evidence for that fact to be believed.
- Clever
- While preferring the most direct path, is flexible in his approach to that recognizing that the most direct is not nessecarily the most linear or obvious. Prefers careful study and selecting a tailored solution to each challenge over broad strategies.
- Loner
- While willing to work with others does not value their contributions as people. The sort of person whom compliments easily, but has no emotion behind them. No matter how closely he is supposed to work with another, will take independent actions as suits him. A troublesome trait.
- Lazy
- Refers not to overall effectiveness but to the characteristics of everyday life. Seimei is the sort that despite being an excellent cook would settle for inferior food simply provided for him, yet would still bemoan the quality. This makes him troublesome to live with and is the source of such ridiculousness as sending his shikigami to perform household chores simply to avoid putting up with people.

An Essay on The Twelve Divine Commanders
MY HISTORY[/color]: //
This is a story from long ago. A man was travelling through the forest of Shinoda in Settsu. There the man came upon a hunter pursuing foxes. In fact at the moment of their meeting the hunter had caught a rare white fox in his traps. Enamored by the foxes beauty the man demanded the hunter free the fox, for surely it was a better prize running free as a thing of beauty then vanquished for its part. The hunter disagreed and the two's quarrel became a fight. Yet the man prevailed over the hunter though he sustained wounds. The white fox freed leapt into the woods. Nearing the local shrine though the man was having trouble with his wounds when a young shrine maiden came upon him and tended his wounds then helped him return home. The man and the maiden in their journey fell in love and married. The man was called Abe No Yasuno and the maiden Kuzunoha. In time they had a child who would be named Seimei. I am Abe no Seimei.
Of my early childhood there is much to say. I remember it quite clearly you see, for even as a child I displayed an high level of intelligence and awareness. Soon this began to manifest in the form of spiritual power, I could ferret out the invisible spirits of the world that normal people could not see. When these early machinations led some spirits to trick an oni into taking revenge on me, I bound the yokai and commanded him through sheer will.
What I truly remember though are the simple things. The first days of dawn, the smell of dew, and my mother's smile. I suppose all children must think the world of their mother but I always knew mine to be special. And so she was though finding that out would be my sorrow. While viewing flowers with her I suddenly found myself looking through her to see a white fox. Indeed she was the fox my father had rescued years ago. Foolishly I spoke allowed of what I saw. So revealed my mother left me and my father. Following back to where they had first met my father met my mother once more, this time in the radiant form of a kitsune. In truth she was one of the kami, a divine fox spirit under the goddess Inari. Though my father and I begged her to remain she said no. In parting she gave me a gift to speak with beasts and to my father she gave a warning. She was wary of the power I had within me and did not want me to grow to be an evil spirit. And so the next day I was taken to the Kamo family, at the time the premier practitioners of magic in the land.
Under Kamo no Tadayuki and then his son Yasunori I became versed in Onmyodo, the Way of Yin and Yang. I learned the motion of the heavens, how to read the world about me, the means of divining the future, and all manner of ways to deal with the spirits that afflict mankind. In those days those of spiritual powered were valued and given high places in the Heian government, so as my skills rose so did my prominence. I rapidly surpassed my teachers, found favor in the Imperial Court, and ascended to leadership of the Onmyoryo (the ministry of Onmyodo), the heir their arts surpassing even their own family line.
The many deeds of my life would take too long to tell here. How I used a Chinese sorcerous text to cure the Emperor of sickness, aided Minamoto no Yorimitsu, or turned a box of oranges into rats to embarrass my sometimes rival Ashiya Doman. I married, founded a clan, had every luxury a man could wish for. And yet I felt disatisfied for there was one thing I could never achieve. I could never again contact my mother. For though I knew she lived, and was a master of the spirits weak and mighty... she eluded me.

Seimei's Robe- A personal modification of a his formal onmyoji attire. Aside from its color the most distinctive feature is Seimei's personal seal upon the back, common among his more powerful items. This long red robe is worn over his other clothes and is enchanted with high level protections. Though its purpose is defense this is achieved through a reactive curse that acts against killing intent by degrading oncoming blows. Similar to the Gandr Shot in Western Magecraft. The overall effect however is comparable to other Servant's normal armor, however it is considered particularly effective against projectiles while weaker against melee arms.
Shikigami- Not so much a weapon as a common type of tool used by Seimei. Very similiar in nature to a Familiar but are technically independent spirits that have been bound by the onmyoji. Come in many forms, though the most famous was in the form of small demons invisible to ordinary humans. Used from everything from spying to offensive attack to performing Seimei's household chores, though in the latter role they generally leave something to be desired.

Seimei's personal seal or mon, representing the five elements of the wu xing that arose from Chinese tradition but modified in translation. In Japan the pentagram became the most powerful symbol of Onmyodo, at the hands of its greatest practitioner it becomes a powerfu tool of exorcism. Through this seal Abe no Seimei became renowned for his abilities to counter spirits.
Doman Seiman manifests as a slowly rotating pentagram design about the target forming a circle a few meters across measure from the points of the pentagram. The activation of this seal enacts a high level Bounded Field upon the enclosed space that suppresses exorcises all spirits from the world beyond the Bounded Field, trapping them. If even a small fraction of a spirit is within that radius the target will be bound as if in a trap, potentially unable even to move.
This Noble Phantasm has no effect upon ordinary humans or even magi. Heroic Spirits were human in life, but Servants manifest with spiritual bodies that do not suffer purely physical damage thus are subject to the seal. A Servant however while unable to escape the Bounded Field is powerful enough to move about and defend themselves, though no normal attack or action can exit the field anymore then they can. As an additional penalty those Servant with traits like Divinity (or other supernatural ancestries) suffer a temporary rank down in all stats while bound as they are even farther from humans. Spirits even further removed from humanity than Servants may effected even more strongly, rendered entirely incapable of action.
Seimei can use this Noble Phantasm around 8 times in battle without completely draining his capacity. These uses can be used concurrently maintaining a single seal for an extended period, though this method renders the user unable to initiate any other actions. For a single use an entity of a Servant's power can only be held for around 30 seconds reliably.
Other Servants have three ways of resisting Doman Seiman. First is to resist through the Mana stat, which shortens the duration of the effect, down to only moments for the highest ranks. Second damage from a superior Noble Phantasm (A rank or higher) or multiple lesser attacks will blow apart the Bounded Field. Finally while quick to deploy a supremely agile Servant might avoid the effect. Of course a Command Seal will also instantly free Servant.

The Twelve Divine Commanders, guardians deities of Buddhist lore and element divinities of the cycle of the world, each representing one of the animals found on the Japanese Zodiac. Of the countless shikigami Abe No Seimei commanded in life, they are the strongest.
When activated this Noble Phanstasm summons a powerful beast. Each appears as an idealized form of the animal they represent, each an enormous and radiant specimen of its type. In truth this form is only a limited aspect of the true Juuni Shinshou who are divine spirits of considerable power owing to the strength of the fundamental cycle they represents. Thus for example if the users chooses to summon forth the Dragon, he can actually accomplish it because it is not a member of that race but rather a facsimile. As a result of this, while their form varies their basic power is essentially equal:

Senji Ryakketsu- Manual of the Master

A large scrolled carried bearing the title The Summary to Judgements of Divinations it is a thaumaturgical manual written by Seimei to encapsulate Omnyodo as an art. By reviewing it in practicing his arts the possessor can greatly increase the efficiency of his onmyodo spellcasting. The manual acting as a form of ritual preparation as complete in advance, thus reducing the requirements of the the particular instance. While the form of a large scroll might seem impractical to use, thanks to Seimei's high perception abilities he does not even need unroll it to benefit from the effect.

Territory Creation: The skill to build a special terrain that increases one's capacities as a magus.
A: Creation of a "Temple", which is superior to a "Workshop", becomes possible. (To this day Abe no Seimei's dwelling is a shrine with many legends surrounding it)
Item Construction: The skill to manufacture magical items.
A: Capable of making healing potions that grant limited immortality. (Charms and similar items are integral to Japanese magic traditions)

Animal Dialogue: Communication of intention with animals that don't speak a "language of words".
B: Can speak with animals at the level of normal conversation. (This ability was granted to Seimei by his mother Kuzunoha in her farewell)
Clairvoyance: Superior visual perception. Supplement long-range aiming and increases dynamic vision. Furthermore, at higher ranks it is possible to acquire precognition ("see into the future") and other forms of perception that are beyond normal eyesight (X-ray vision and the sorts).
A+: Within a radius of 4kms grants perception beyond physical bounds, not merely through physical interference (x-ray vision) but into the underlying nature of the world, albeit in a vague way. For example if confronted with shapeshifted opponent they will recognize the deception though not the true identity. Does not cancel Presence Concealment. (Abe no Seimei was famous for being difficult to fool and well known for feats of 'divination' such as learning the gender of unborn children)
Divinity: Measures the strength of one's divine ancestry. The amount of divine blood inside a demigod.

Onmyodo: The given to the thaumaturgical theory of the Japan a variant of the Chinese school of Thaumaturgy that uses the concept of yin and yang as foundation. The predominant system of Magecraft in Japan, it is ideologically incompatible with the Western schools of Thaumaturgy. A system that excels at divination, curses and the like, its most famous practitioner was Abe no Seimei.
A++: The most powerful practitioner of Onmyodo to have ever lived. Exceeds the limits of modern Magecraft and perform feats of High Thaumaturgy with only simple actions.
