“Wait, she wasn’t a doll?”
“I can’t believe that silent thing turned out to be a…”
“AAARRRGGHHH!!! SOMEONE, GET THIS STALKER OF ME!!!”
An entity standing by the side most of the time, on would believe she’s a submissive one that does nothing but follow orders. Almost like a colorful puppet, the little being stands on the side as if inactive. Is there a soul somewhere behind those blue eyes of hers, or is she really a doll? It is not possible to see it directly, until she’s allowed to interact. Then, however…
She’ll turn completely different. When something caught her interest, she hunts it constantly. Ellinda when allowed to speak freely can come up with hundreds of lines about information you’d normally never think of, because it interested her. Questions arrive, revealing an insatiable curiosity one needs to deal with. An honest smile and a truly childish determination to find information springs up. This happens when she’s away from what she considers boring, and she’s encountered something interesting. How else would she react then to hunt it? A clear determination to be free to hunt whatever she is interested in, it will not end.
If someone attempts to control this little cheeky girl while in that condition, they’ll be rejected. Showing a fiery character that otherwise is left unseen, she will do anything in her power to be let out of the grip of order. At times like that, it can appear as if she’s rejecting anything anyone says just for the sole purpose of rejecting. Also, she cannot attempt to believe something cannot be changed. How others view the world cannot be the end of it. That sort of thinking has led her into trouble in the past.
Also, as she’s been trained to be a magus this whole time, she is capable of not showing mercy. While she has never killed anyone before, she knows the true nature of many magi in the world, and there is no doubt in her mind about their true nature. As such, she is ready to defend herself. Having been fooled a multitude of times throughout her life, including by the very reason she was born, Ellinda is distrustful to the claim of others unless there is a good reason to trust them. A girl also loyal to her friends, she can be an eyesore for anyone wishing to give her orders because she might find something that is more interesting than the orders.
- Silent
- There are few things that Ellinda thinks are worthy of more than the appropriate number of words. She has no reason to say anything else. Unless confronted, she needs not say more than she wants, if she wants to say anything at all. If someone finds themselves spoken to repeatedly by her, they are most likely subject to the next trait on the list.
- Curious
- If the blond girl Ellinda sees something that interests her, then she’ll target it and never let it get away. She’ll ask questions, target weak spots and try out different things in order to satisfy her curiosity. Some people more than others are capable of attracting her attention. Also, she may do things others would not, merely to see what happened. Those repeatedly targeted by this trait will often get a taste of the next one…
- Mischievous
- If this girl decides to try out something to see what happens, she’ll do it. Even if it is completely immoral or puts someone in a very awkward situation. The little smile that arises when she succeeds with something like that… is almost creepy. Also, making up stories for why she does things is always a favorite pastime. Think you can escape it? Well, you can always confront her about it and ask. After all, she’s…
- Honest
- Few lies leave these lips. What others might not want to admit, Ellinda can confirm at once. Her nods do not change no matter how the situation looks. If you ask her a question, she’ll answer without properly wondering why she should not. That is simply the way she does things, and it will soon get her into trouble. Very soon.
- Stubborn
- If she has decided on doing something, she’s not backing out. Whatever order you give her, the only things that can stop her is her own sense of danger. It is during these times her fiery temperament is as most visible, and one can hear her rejecting others on a increased rate just for the sake of rejecting. Really, she can be difficult to handle.
LIKES: // Interesting people, interesting views, interesting situations, interesting foods, interesting things in general… and happy endings. Salt. Art.
DISLIKES: // Anything uninteresting. Family-disputes. Loss. Tragedy. The Wechseln-family. Being unable to pursue what interests her.
STRENGTHS: // She’s a magus. Trained mostly to fight if needed, Ellinda has been made sure to stay physically fit in case of danger. While not martially capable, Ellinda has an endurance to make sure she does not get tired when the situation is as most dangerous.
WEAKNESSES: // She’s a young girl, and her weaknesses are all those that comes with that. No matter how she’s trained, she won’t be as physically capable as some others. Also, she lacks experience in the actual field due to her age, and as such may be prone to being surprised or making bad decisions on the fly. Also, her curiosity can get the better of her, leading her to dangerous situations.

MY FAMILY LINE: // Ellinda was born a part of the Mitchell family, which is really too bad for her. The Mitchell family is a very young, but somewhat resourceful family. The family started rather recently when its founder managed to charm a magus into telling him about the dwindling circuits that had survived in his line for generations. Being taught by the magus to save the dwindling circuits, the man and the magus created an entirely new magi family over the cause of a few years and the man started working on his own Thaumaturgical Crest, developing it from nothing to give to the heir he created with his wife. The newly made head of the family, primarily a CEO for an oil-and-other-minerals mining company, immediately started investing in developing his magecraft abilities with the aid of the magus, who was actually merely having fun seeing if it would actually work to create a magi family like this. The magus told him all about the Mage’s Association and magecraft, and taught the man about the wonders for a time. The man had been made prepared to make his mark on the magic history.
However, despite all his success on the resource-part in the unmagical world, the man could never overcome the breach that kept him from becoming a true magus. As he had become interested in magecraft, his family passed more and more from being a company family to being a magecraft family. That, however, was not a progression that favored the family. They were far more successful as a large mining company pouring in lots of funds than they were as a very young magi family with no history or research. When coming to the Clock Tower to join, they were looked down on and laughed at first. Even today, the family has only existed in roughly 160 years bound to the Mage’s Association as it was founded in 1867, through four generations though the first one died early so it can really only count as three. While they have gained a name for themselves due to their involvement in the mining industry, they are more famous for that than anything else.
Because of their mining operations, the head thought it appropriate to impress others with his mining and oil power, so he tried to make magic out of it. A family with a clear earth – water element combination, the Mitchell family also possesses limited control of what could be called “oil-elemental” magecraft. Generation of the sticky flammable substance and control of it was long a dream. However, the young family would need a higher amount of circuits to perfect it.
The average Mitchell member holds 10 circuits and a 1.5 PrC, leading to a 15 maximum prana.
The family that Ellinda now carries the last name of is the Wechseln family. It is a much older family, stretching 900 years into the past and been in contact with the Mage’s Association and the Clock Tower the entire time. For the longest of time, their castles and bases has resided underground due to their die-hard trust to the Earth-element. Many have been trapped trying to infiltrate their bases, as traps are a true forte of theirs. Training themselves in the techniques of minerals and marrying through others of earth-element, this family has mastered what themselves consider “trap” magecraft. The Wechseln are members at the Mage’s Association, and they do visit from time to time and interact in business and such as any other family, because they could never have their children marry strong magical blood otherwise. Having such an old crest and still leading largely secluded lives, the pale members of the Wechseln are greedy and high-stung, often the worst of discriminators against other families and the proudest of their heritage. They are incurable.
The average Wechseln member holds 14 circuits with 22 PrC, leading to a 308 maximum prana.
MY HISTORY: // A day, sometime before the fifth war, the high and mighty Wechseln family desired to enter the Holy Grail War. They had been told of its existence by a contact among the lords of the Mage’s Association, and they were raring to go. They had the magi they needed, they had all the permission they could ever have wanted. However, in order to secure the victory, they needed a powerful hero. To get that, they needed a catalyst to summon said hero. However, being the underground hermits they were, the Wechseln family found themselves incapable of collecting any such…
However, the Mitchell family was not. In fact, the Mitchell family already had a catalyst, collected by one of their mining operations. Unfortunately, they didn’t know what the artifact was good for, so they merely hung it on display in their main mansion. The Wechseln heard about this, and came to the Mitchell family to collect the artifact. The oil businessman quite clearly recognized a business opportunity, and spared no time taking full advantage at the terms of an exchange. Noticing the advantage the Mitchell suddenly was on, the Wechseln decided to allow something drastic to get the very meaningful artifact.
The Mitchell family had some really impressive magecraft for a family that young. However, their magi were too weak to use anything serious. In fact, the Mitchell family didn’t even have the number of circuits to perform their own signature magecraft. If, on the other hand, they could get their hands on a person from an older family to marry their heir, that would spice things up a bit. The terms of the exchange was laid down. The Wechseln family gained a catalyst with which they could summon a hero with which they could win the war, and the Mitchell family received a non-heir daughter of the Wechseln family to boost their number of crests. If any of them broke the vow of secrecy they would be forced to give up what they had gained from the deal. That was the deal.
On the other hand, the very proud Wechseln family could hardly face the shame of marrying off their daughter to such a miscreant little family. As such, the deal took place behind locked doors, away from the view of outsiders. None should be allowed to know the Wechseln gave their daughter to those oil-crazy little punks. In fact, after the Wechseln had won the Holy Grail War they might as well take her back. They could hardly refuse the victorious ones, could they? And so, the family prepared for war while the heir of the Mitchell family received his beautiful pale wife…
But the Grail never chose the Wechseln family to enter. Because of the chock, the family became largely inactive for a while, even deciding to uphold the deal with the Mitchell family for a while. Time went on, and as things turned out in Fuyuki city the Wechseln family could conclude it might have been for the best they did not enter. Soon, the Mitchell heir had made his wife pregnant, and the Wechseln gave up on her.
The child, Ellinda Arianna Mitchell, was given birth. A little girl with the most magic circuits that the Mitchell family had ever produced, all thanks to the Wechseln mother. The girl grew up as virtually any magus heir would, being prepared to receive the crest from her actually pretty old father and continue bringing glory to the now empowered Mitchell family. Upon receiving the crest at a rather young age, Ellinda made her way to the Mage’s Association. It was a natural part of her life. All little magi go there sooner or later to prove themselves. And the little Mitchell… proved herself.
Since the operation with the Wechseln was kept secret, none knew what had transpired. The little Mitchell was far stronger than they would have expected her to, far surpassing the age of the actual family. Knowing nothing, the girl could simply feel good about herself as people stared in chock at her. Such mysteries often have answers, as some people in the Mage’s Association knew. So they went and did their research on the Mitchell family and the little girl. And when they did that, they uncovered what was never to be uncovered. It chocked them, because never could they have imagined that family to have agreed to such. The little girl’s mother was a daughter of a Wechseln.
This didn’t matter to the Wechseln. After all, they could simply deny the possibility, and as long as the Mitchell upheld the agreement of silence it would be no trouble. That, on the other hand, was not the thoughts of a certain Marcel Wechseln, a man in the family. Wishing ill towards the Mitchell family, he hired a professional to see a Mitchell in a bar. During a drunk roar, the Mitchell was made to boost loudly over the little Ellinda. And then… he said things he should not have said. After that, the truth was out, heard by several who reported it to their higher ups. Then, it was time to ask the Wechseln once again.
This time around, there was no faking it. The man of the Mitchell had boastfully publicized the truth. This was a clear breach against the contract that the Wechseln and the Mitchell had upheld for so long. They’d never have admitted this deal on their own, but now the shame of the deal was already overwhelming them. As the Mitchell’s had clearly gone against the rules of the contract, the Wechseln proceeded with doing what they knew would harm the Mitchell family the most for their crime. Since the artifact turned out to be useless, it only seemed fitting.
They called the daughter back. Since they did not hold up their part of the deal, it would only strike as fitting that they took her back. They had already been shamed with the truth anyway. With the contract void, the Wechseln family called for what they had claim of. That being their daughter, and anything that the Mitchell family had gained from their union. Of course, the greatest gain the family had received from the union… was the girl, Ellinda. The Mitchell family was forced to give up their two most valuable females, against the will of both individuals. As such, Ellinda’s last name was changed from Ellinda Mitchell to Ellinda Wechseln. The girl was 14 at the time.
At 14 years of age with crest and all, Ellinda was taken from a family where she was the best to where she was a disgrace to them all. Ellinda had been adopted forcefully, and neither part was happy with the arrangement. The girl had brought with her the Mitchell family crest, rendering the younger family devoid of their research. Since she was now supposed to be a Wechseln, she was put under tutelage of Marcel to learn the magecraft of the family the hard way, to show that she was now a Wechseln. That is what she’s been trained for the last three years. However, Ellinda was able to use the Mitchell magecraft as well. She held the possession of her skill and crest, and she could secretly practice anytime. Ellinda continued her life, refusing to change her purpose in life in any direction for the sake of her new “family”. But she could not go against them, she knew. But yet, there was the will to do so.
Soon enough, the Holy Grail War came again. This time, the Wechseln family stood ready, with their heir ready to accept the invitation of the Holy Grail…
Obviously, it chose Ellinda. She had spent three years with her new family, and disliked every second of it. This annoyed, greedy piece of pure hatred for her new family was a lot more interesting. When this occurred most of the Wechseln just plainly gave up, as they never considered Ellinda a Wechseln. Giving Ellinda the power to do whatever she wanted until her departure for Lucca, even allowing her to use their money and import a barrel of crude oil for her use, the Wechseln gave her what she’d need for highest possible chance to win and then turned a blind eye to whatever happened next in Lucca, all of them expecting Ellinda to die horribly in the events that would transpire next…
The girl now moves to Lucca, command seals hidden under her gloves, with the innocent purpose of joining the Accademia di Belle Arti. She’s actually been interested in paintings for art for a long time, and a small gesture from the Wechseln family allowed her to be enrolled for the single purpose of hiding her status. It is more difficult to locate someone who noticeably does something else than one that appears to do nothing but roam the streets looking like that. Well, as a young girl chosen to be a Master, her mission now starts in a new direction…
MY GOALS: // Ellinda’s goals are to win the war, bring down the Wechseln family and get herself back to the Mitchell family. With the gain of the command seals, she’s already gotten far away from the hands of her family…
[/blockquote]
A certain little colorful amulet she keeps by her stomach. It is a little something that the Wechseln family gives their members for the sake of defense. Being trap-masters the lot of them, it would be bad if they could not sense their own traps. Sensor included, this little thing will give a signal to its wielder about the nature of something filled with prana nearby if the wearer missed it. The signal is a slight rumble reacting to nearby concentrations of prana, a more powerful rumble the more powerful the concentration. Ellinda can turn it off by a slight use of power, and will have to in order to be normal out on the streets as the artifact while active obviously also uses prana that was supplied it from Ellinda.
Inside her small pockets on either side of her waist (yes, those are pockets) she stores a number of small items. This includes a wallet with a large amount of money from her family as well as passports and the like, a few match-boxes, pointy metal shards and salt.
Underneath her clothing she has gathered an amount of oil inside special pockets in her clothes. Roughly three cubic decimeters of oil are stored in a thin layer all over underneath her clothes, making her look just a tiny bit broader than she actually is. Also, she holds a fair bit stored inside her gloves should the situation demand it.
With her on her journey, she brought a single barrel of oil for use. It is heavy, she barely got it up to her hotel room, it will be exceedingly difficult to bring to a fight. However, it is the oil she got for thus war. Taking the oil from the barrel, it better be enough to get through this war.
RANK: // 4th Rank (?)
ELEMENT: // Earth and Water
EXPERTISE: // Having trained herself solely and only to be a magus, she never had the time to become anything else. Although, her expertise in oil-magecraft is possibly the only one in existence.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // Ellinda contains only 8 magic circuits due to her young family, but her quality is boosted to a whopping 22 by the Wechseln genes. In addition to this, her crest contains 10 circuits with a low Mitchell quality of 1.7, resulting in the equation 8 * 22 + 10 * 1.7 = 193 Maximum Prana.
SPELLS: //
Schwarz Schleuder (Earth/Water)
Rank: E
Cost: 5 Pr/spell
Range: 0.5 m / 7 m
Effect: A small amount of oil, approximately to a maximum of 0.2 kg, is launched with a single velocity in one direction. After being launched, all laws of nature are applied. The oil will most likely scatter. The spell is a single-action one. The caster of the spell can take additional amounts of oil by adding one line per 0.1 kg, and an additional 5 pr for it. For each the effective range will decrease by one meter. The rank of the spell will increase accordingly. This spell can be used in tandem with Harte Schlamm, hardening and launching at the same time. This increases the total level to C, prana consumption to 20 pr/0.2 kg and making the spell casting require one verse plus a line per 0.1 kg over 0.2 used.
Usually, Mitchell members were only capable of using the first stage of this spell. With the addition of Ellinda’s superior prana, more could be added, up to a maximum of 4 and 0.6 kg for the cost of 25 pr, but theoretically it could go higher. The unification of the two spells was impossible for the Mitchell family until Ellinda came around.
Harte Schlamm (Earth/Water)
Rank: D
Cost: 5 Pr/0.2 liter
Range: 2 m
Effect: Focusing the prana inside the oil, the magus can make a limited reinforcement to the oil when it is within the range of two meters. The oil can be hardened to the state where a person could pick it up. The hardening is as hardening a body (loads of organic substance), except this spell is specifically for oil. Lasts roughly ten minutes. Things that is located in the oil while it is being hardened will get stuck. Casting of the spell is made by two lines. This spell can be used in tandem with Harte Schlamm, then increasing the total level to C, prana consumption 20 pr/0.2 kg and and making the spell a one verse plus a line per 0.1 kg over 0.2 used.
This is the most advanced spell the Mitchell managed to make in their fanatic struggle to make magecraft out of oil. Simply a reinforcement spell that only affects oil. Other magi would look at this with pity. Ellinda has been able to bring the spell to a better potential, doing it on a slight range and with larger amounts as well as combining it with the other spell of the family.
Malen Potenzial (Earth or Water, depending on what it is used on)
Rank: E
Cost: 5 Pr
Range: 1 m
Effect: Inviting the inner properties of a material and adding a few own, the magus can affect minor properties in a material. Mainly, the color. Actually, only the color. This is a spell that can be used to change the color of materials, mainly those around the user. The color will not turn back when the spell ends, the change is permanent. While capable of being used on a meters distance, for best result one should hold one’s hand less than a decimeter from the object one wants to paint. If used well, the magus can create an image exactly as s/he desires it to look on the surface ahead. The use of this magecraft is employed by a single line, and it stays for about twenty minutes before the spell ends. It doesn’t take much prana to maintain. Ellinda herself is much more proficient at coloring oils than anything else, so one might see her coloring a painting in a single color and yet it is a whole spectrum in the image she's painting...
A spell someone decided to teach her when she expressed interest in the paintings that was hanging in a certain room in the Mage’s Association. While she is trained to be a magus first and foremost, Ellinda sometimes sneaks away from work to make a childish portrait somewhere near…
Kurz-Falle (Earth)
Rank: D
Cost: 30 pr
Range: 3 m
Effect: This spell is cast by one verse. The magus delays a spell cast by someone inside a magecraft trap created from the spell. It can be cast by the magus herself or anyone, though it may not have a rank above C. When the effect is delayed, the prana will simply not do what it was intending to for a time while the magus leaves a “mark” nearby that the spell links to. After a set time, from whatever time the caster set to full 72 hours if the spell is weak, or until the mark senses enough prana to be satisfied, the little invisible to the eye mark of prana will unleash the spell a bit late. Sensor distance is roughly when a person with open magic circuits threads within a meter or two, depending on the persons prana-level. Then, the spell will be released at that spot. Several can be in place at once.
A favored spell among the Wechseln, it allows the members to put up traps to lay in the way of their enemies. A somewhat new person to this spell, Ellinda is not able to use the spell to its full potential. The true Wechseln heir can hold A rank spells, hold weaker spells indefinitely and have these in position without prana-maintenance. Ellinda cannot. For her, a C rank can only be held roughly 30 seconds, a D rank roughly 45 minutes, but an E rank up to 72 hours.
Welt Verändern (Earth)
Rank: D
Cost: 22 pr
Range: 5 m
Effect: With two lines, somewhere within five meters of the magus a single piece of material will be shaped to the magus wishes. Depending on what the magus wishes, the floor might give way, a wall may stab out and attack. However, it is highly limited as shaping. The magus has very limited control of the shape that is taken, it will most likely be very malformed, and it can only be one movement per line and 22 pr. The largest movement possible would most likely be forming a two meter stalagmite with an average radius of 2 dm of the material in the floor/roof/wall or bending a square of a single square meter with a decimeter thickness up or down to defend someone, block a path or make someone fall through the floor.
Ellinda cannot use this to the same degree that a true Wechseln could, but she has still been taught its use. A true Wechseln could manipulate far more material at once at far higher a rank. Ellinda would be forced to remain with mere standard manipulation around, but she’s still somewhat capable, probably thanks to her skill in magecraft. This spell is a favorite to be combined with Kurz-Falle due to the traps that could potentially be created.
