So um, hi, I'm urciocello, I'm new (or I wouldn't be posting here) and I wanted to see what kind of interesting people where here. Nice to meet you'all!
EDIT: I figured I might as well say it here. If anyone is a servantless master, drop me a line, maybe we could work something out. : O

Interesting player name, I'm britza.
Welcome to the forums, hope you have fun, and unless we're discussing the board or the situation obviously displays itself otherwise, don't take stuff -too- seriously around here.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I figured if I can find someone crazy enough to have the servant I've been planning than I'd be set for a pretty fun game.
ah right I probably should have said that first :I
I was working on the Delusional Man of La Mancha, Don Quixote. It's more than a bit silly of a character idea, but I think the design actually has some potential.

I don't think Don Quixote works, because he's been known to be famous for being a character in a novel.
It's why the Musketeers wouldn't work, because Alexander Dumas wrote them as characters, and Don Quixote is clearly fictitious, since his existence ties him to a novel.
Heroes like Guan Yu and Lu Bu work because although we know them through the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, they were historical/mythological figures. But I'm fairly confident that novel characters cannot be Servants, since they don't exist.
There are plenty of heroes out there to choose from, but Don Quixote isn't an idea that works on the basis of being completely fictitious (as opposed to being part of a mythology).
I think that's the case, although I can be wrong, but I would consider looking up mythologies for other Servant ideas. That, or see if Don Quixote had a historical/mythological basis
In the novel "Don Quixote" is not actually a real person. The main character is actually just an upper class bookworm that has read so much that he believes reality to be the place of damsels and dragons he's read about. the Quixote character is just the dream person he thinks he is. I read the rule on purely fictitious but thought it could still work under the idea that he is an abstraction. He's (the servant summoned under the name of Quixote) would also be a lover of stories and fantasy. Since he would have dedicated his life to living these fantasies he would be summoned in the fictitious Don's place.
If that doesn't fly I have back ups, but I figured I'd give it a shot first at least.

Hm, it's always terrible to have a profile denied on the basis of the Servant idea, but what NPs could he do?
Unlike Sasaki Kojiro, I'm under the impression the man only dreamed of his adventures as opposed to living it. The fake Sasaki Kojiro was a samurai who had the Tsubame Gaeshi of Sasaki Kojiro, who was an amalgamation of several warriors to become an opponent worthy of Miyamoto Musashi named "Sasaki Kojiro". It's why he has that particular skill (not even a NP, technically).
But the guy really doesn't have much going for him, in NPs, but I'm no expert. Just consider how much time you're willing to spend on the idea, but if you have back-ups, that's fine too.
I have some ideas, mostly based on conceptual weapons. I don't really want to make all of my first posts walls of text though, so I think I'll save it for the application proper > .< and it's only one character, not the end of the world after all. anywho, thanks for the speedy welcome and responses!
Don Quixote would be a no. An obviously fictional character would not fly here. Trying to attempt a Kojiro approach would fail as well for multiple reasons. Firstly, Koji was an error created from a caster trying to summon a servant. Which is why true assassin did not appear in 2/3 routes. Secondly, it is tied in to location. In Japan it would be a samurai. Italy, something like a gladiator perhaps. Do not attempt such an approach as it would be denied.
That out of the way I would like to welcome you to the site. You can find pointers and rules (Covering what this whole topic is discussing) in character pointers in the profile section. You can also get on our chat boxes located here cbox.ws/?n=7-232741-qbchz2 for out of character discussion.
