- Energetic
- Getting her to not do anything such as seek out other servants for a fight is quite difficult. She can sit back and enjoy a good drink but cant stay still for long.
- Honor in strength
- One's birth or lineage were nothing to her than petty titles; it was only a person's own achievements that could truly be considered rightfully his/hers. She holds great respect for those who were bold enough to create change in the midst of adversity.
- Pride
- Masamune is proud to the point of arrogance. She thinks highly of her own abilities and skills and is annoyed by others who dare to upstage her in any activity.
- Yakuza
- Although technically not a yakuza, she exhibits many of the traits resembling one. She tends to speak a mixture of English and Japanese which has an added bonus of allowing her to blend in easier in public then most other servants. She is surprisingly vulgar and is quite Honest to the point of being blunt when telling other how she feels about people or situations.
- Overdramatic
- Though she won't admit it, Masamune is extremely overdramatic. Her every move and gesture is dramatic, portentous, over the top, and full of energy and sensuality. Masamune loves being the center of attention and if given the chance she will unconsciously pose and posture grandly and will make a scene out of anything she does.
- Loyalty
- Unlike many of the commanders of the Sengoku Period, Masamune saw her men as nakama, not tools of war. She discusses plans and difficulties openly with her men and often weighed the counsel of her second in command, Kojūrō Katakura, before making major decisions. She has shown more than once to deeply care for all of them, especially for her right hand Kojūrō. To people whom she cared for, Masamune is even willing to sacrifice her own life. If she finds her master to be worthy of it, her loyalty is unbreakable.
- Flirty/Pervert
- Being a woman in a time of war, and a mighty Dainyo, Masamune is known for being quite the flirt. She enjoys teasing others either verbally or physically just to see how they react. And yes, she plays on both sides of the fence so none are safe from her perversions. She does not mind threesomes and such as long as she enjoys herself. One of her hobbies is peaking in bathing houses and writing/reading perverted novels. If she gets a prudish or honorable master, watch out! She will dive you batty with her antics!
- Battle Concealment Difficulty
- She has trouble holding back and this causes problems in hiding the nature of the war. She absolutely loves a good fight and in particular: explosions. She is willing to blow up a bridge to stop someone just to see the boomness of the explosion.
- Laid-back
- Easy going, friendly, and not the type to stand for formality, it's immediately apparent that Date Masamune isn't the type to be offended easily. She was a conquering daimyo, after all; it wouldn't be much good if she didn't have a sense of humor. On the other end of the spectrum, expect her to be snarky & playful all at once, even to people she might not know very well. However, her generally friendly manner and easy smile makes her seem like a very likable person.
- Uninterested in the War
- Incredibly, she is not really interested in the war. Her only reason for competing is so that she can wish for a second life in the current times. She is astounded in the progress that Japan and the world has made in the last 450 years. In particular, she loves the new means of transportation and entertainment. Unless you are a very strict and uncompromising master, prepare to be dragged around as her 'date' to sedate her curiosity.
LIKES: //
DISLIKES: //
STRENGTHS: //
Quite Balanced in a variety of Skills, she is able to use a variety of weapons which could have summoned her into another class. She does not really need to reload as she uses guns for range attacks that have about unlimited ammo. With the Golden Rule Noble Phantasm, she makes sure that her Master has plenty of funds for the war.
WEAKNESSES: //
Her impulsiveness and drive for battle makes it hard for her to resist a fight, even when it might be a trap. Her mana pool and magic resistance is also lower then what one might expect from an archer. This is because she encountered little magic in her life. Although she does not need to reload, she needs to 're-cock' her guns every few shots to clear their pathways to prevent jamming. She is also retardly easy to recognize when she wears her helmet to anyone who posses even a bit of knowledge about the Japanese Sengoku Period. Despite having the riding skill, she was not summoned as a rider and as such, she does not have access to two more noble phantasms which would only be available if she was a rider.[/ul][/blockquote]
MY LEGEND: // Link
MY HISTORY: //
Tell me, punks...Have you ever heard of my story?
No, eh? Well grab a seat and pour some sake as I reminiscence about the good old days...
Well I was born to the head of the Date clan, Terumune in Yonezawa Castle on September 5, 1567. As I grew up, I contracted the white death: smallpox in my right eye. A nutty physician told that either the eye has gotta go or it would spread and finish me. Since I had barely gotten into the swing of life, I ask our most loyal retainer, and my closest friend, Kojūrō Katakura to pluck it out.
He protested but I had my way and he removed it from me. He couldn't stand the thought of having hurt me and eventually swore to become my new right. An oath I accepted as I loved him like an older, overprotective brother. But this had a nasty consequence. My mother, Yoshihime was frankly a bitch. She was crazy and pissed that her first child was a girl and not a son. When she later gave birth to my younger brother she kept trying to get my old man to make him his heir.
When i 'removed' my eye, she lost her marbles and condemned me, stating that I was not fit to take over the clan. She begun to push heavily for my little bro, to become the new head. My old man on the other hand was plenty stubborn. I joined him for my first campaign against the Sōma family when I was 14. By the time I was 17, I succeeded him as he retired to become the next Daimyo. The Date clan had built alliances with neighboring clans through marriages over previous generations. However, there were many disputes over the lands during the 15th and 16th centuries. Shortly after my succession, a Date retainer named Ōuchi Sadatsuna defected to the Ashina clan of the Aizu region.
Naturally, I was annoyed and decided to declare war on Ashina for this betrayal, but my army was halted by the Ashina general Iwashiro Morikuni, who forced meto retire from the campaign. On the way home, I took control of Obama Castle. I learned a good lesson, these neighbors would keep trying to backstab me until something was done.
I declared war on most of my neighbors even those of family in the Mutsu and Dewa Provinces. Shocked by my ruthlessness and victories, a neighboring family, the Hatakeyama, desperately appealed to my old man to stop me. When they invited him to dinner, my old man told them that even he could not stop me. I'm just that awesome.
Hatakeyama then lost their shit and kidnapped him to force me to stop. I was nearby hunting with Kojūrō, another of my most loyal retainers Hasekura Tsunenaga, and my cousin Date Shizegane (and a few others of course). When we got word of the kidnapping, we gave chase and cornered them near a river. We were at a standoff when my old man roared at me to open fire at them all. He ordered us to kill all the enemy, even at the cost of his own life. We did just that. As I held my dying father, he told me to make my mark on history and bring the Date Clan to eternal glory.
We returned home and I threw everything I had to finish the Ashina. Along the way, I captured the rest of the Hatakeyama family and...well....I made sure that they suffered for what they did.
Meanwhile...mummy dearest was getting more annoying. When dad's died she insulted me in front of the elders and demanded that I surrender my post as head to Kojiro, my little brother. After I politely told her to stick her demands where the sun does not shine, the hag tried to poison me!
I would have bit the dust if not for Shizegane's help. As I was recovering, Kojūrō, Tsunaga and Shizegane had a meeting and decided to stop this once and for all. Without telling me, the three of them attacked and...they killed Kojiro. When I regained my strength and learned of what they did, I nearly had them flogged. Eventually, they calmed me down knowing that I realized what they did was for my good. We publicly announced that I had poisoned Kojiro and now disinherited his heirs for 7 generations so that any heirs I would have would no longer be threatened by this. Mom under threat of death left and returned to her family and my uncle's home, the Mogami clan.
I decided to leave her be. As the year went on, I managed to unify the entire northern region of japan while giving the middle finger to Nobunaga Oda himself. Then everything went to pot. That asshole Akechi Mitsuhide managed to take out the 6th Devil Lord of Heaven himself leading his No.2, Toyotomi Hideyoshi to pick up the pieces. By the time I conquered the North, it was too late as Hideyoshi had more or less conquered all of Japan.
When he seized Odawara Castle, he compelled the Tōhoku region daimyos to participate in the campaign including me. As much as I hated it, I could not refuse him. I delayed, delayed and delayed some more pissing him off. When the summon came, I prepared everything as I was sure I was going to die. I wore my finest funureal kimono and showed no fear towards him. Not wanting further trouble, Hideyoshi spared my life, saying that "She could be of some use"
As the year dragged and I had to work under him, he rewarded me by giving me Iwatesawa castle and the surrounding lands as my home domain. The Date clan packed up show, moved there in 1591, rebuilt the castle, renamed it Iwadeyama, and encouraged the growth of a town at its base. We stayed at Iwadeyama for 13 years and turned the region into a major political and economic center as well as a collection of some of the finest female beauties I had ever seen. Sorry for drooling, some memories were just too good~
Then Hideyoshi went nuts and tried to conquer freaking Korea! When he summoned us we were wondering what the hell was going on and then he dropped his bomb on us. Kenshin put it mildly when he asked if Hideyoshi had lost all of his marbles. When he summoned Date's army to join him, I decided to mess with him. Together with my Three Amigos (sounds more catchy then Three Great Men of the Date Clan eh?) we provided one of the GREATEST '"screw you's" of the time. We decked the entire Date army of 3000 men with various golden attire and I myself got a new golden helmet and rode all the way from the north to Kyoto. Cause of that, me and my boys became affiliated with the nickname "Dateotoko" or "Datemono". It came from my army's flamboyant appearance as they marched in formation during the Korean Campaign. The "Pimp My Army" plan worked spectacularly as onlookers were awed by the sight and were said to have uttered, "That's Masamune, all right. She's truly a Date." Datemono from the line is a pun of Masamune's family name and a definition of the word date, "to stick out".
The look on Hideyoshi's face alone made me orgasm that night. Me and my boys served with distinction in the Korean invasions under Hideyoshi even if said invasion failed. As Hideyoshi begun to get old and sick, Kojūrō advised me to ally myself with Ieyasu Tokugawa realizing that he would be the next ruler. I decided to assist the pursuit at Hasedo before Kanetsugu can regroup. Slaying Kanetsugu and Maeda Keiji, I won a victory for Ieyasu and was promoted to a Senior Daimyo.
Ieyasu awarded me the lordship of the huge and profitable Sendai Domain, which made me one of Japan’s most powerful daimyo in the country. He promised me a one million koku domain, but, even after substantial improvements were made, the land only produced 640,000 koku, most of which was used to feed the Edo region. During my conquests, I had adopted several kids as my own.
In 1604, I was accompanied by 52,000 vassals and their families, as we moved to what was then the small fishing village of Sendai. I left my fourth son, Date Muneyasu, to rule Iwadeyama. My rule would turn Sendai into a large and prosperous city. I built many palaces and worked on many projects to beautify the region. I also encouraged foreigners to come to my land to trade and stay. Some daimyo's tried to still up trouble sayin that I had converted to Christianity but it was all bullshit.
I did fund and promote Tsunenaga to establish relations with the Pope in Rome, not for religion but for foreign technology. Soon Ieyasu lost his shit and outlawed Christianity pain of death. I was forced to revers my position, and though hated it, let Ieyasu persecute Christians in my domain. I i did what I could for the Christian missionaries and traders in Japan. I allowed them to come and preach in my province, and also released the prisoner and missionary Padre Sotelo from the hands of Ieyasu. That had the added bonus of pissing him off.
I let Sotelo preach and win converts in my regions as long as they remained loyal to me. My greatest achievement was funding and backing one of Japan's few journeys of far-flung diplomacy and exploration in this period. I ordered the building of the exploration ship Date Maru or San Juan Bautista, using foreign (European) ship-building techniques. I then sent Tsunenaga, Sotelo and an embassy numbering 180 on a successful voyage to establish relations with the Pope in Rome. This expedition visited such places as the Philippines, Mexico, Spain and Rome, making it the first Japanese voyage to sail around the world. Previously, Japanese lords had never funded this sort of venture, so it was probably the first successful voyage and it was by ME! HELL YEAH!
At least five members of the expedition stayed in Coria (Seville) of Spain to avoid the persecution of Christians in Japan. Tsunenaga returned home with a pair of flintlock pistols as a gift from the pope that he named after his fellow comrades. I took them and used them splendidly.
Ieyasu increased the size of my lands again, but was constantly suspicious of me and his policies. He was particularly suspicious of foreign missionaries, whom he perceived as a threat to his power. The moron. Althrough Ieyasu and other Date allies were always suspicious of me, I for the most part served loyally. Once I faked illness to avoid meeting the shogun, Tokugawa Hidetada - in reality I was nursing a hangover from hell.
Though my embassy had come to naught that to ieyasu executiong poor Sotelo, I maintained my status as a first rate general, serving in the Osaka Campaigns. My somewhat unusual and at times controversial manner of doing things was best demonstrated by an incident that occurred during the 1615 siege. Evidently, I became frustrated at the lack of aggression on the part of friendly troops under Jinbo Sukemochi, and ordered my own men to let off a few rifle volleys in their direction to goad them into action. Needless to say, this was not an act well looked upon by my fellow generals, the pussies.
When I finally died in 1636, I was succeeded by my son Tadamune. my daughter, Iroha became a Christian with my blessings as I did not give a damm really. In the end, I kinda died a boring death after a life of glory at 70 years surrounded by my kids and their kids. So I guess It was a hell of a run while it lasted!
