- Broken Sword and Shattered Shield
- He swore to serve as his sister's sword and shield, but failed in that role. In an attempt to save her soul from further corruption, Tyonis killed Alexandra, even as she begged for her life. He carries plenty of baggage from that night. The three most prevalent are hate, guilt, and sadness.
- Hypocritical Knight
- As a knight, he wishes to serve and eventually die in honorable combat. But since his failure, he has become a coward. Unable to take his own life, he drowns himself in battle, in blind hope that one day, someone will kill him. At the same time, he values his life enough that he will do everything in his power to hinder the enemy before the fight even starts. Tyonis describes himself as an "indecisive coward who can't even die properly."
- Stubborn Mule
- If nothing else, Tyonis knows how to focus his mind to perform a single task. While beneficial in many ways, it makes him close-minded and irritable. Especially when things aren't going his way.
- Consequence of Poverty
- Tyonis has an avid dislike for being poor. More so than most paupers, as he was born into wealth and power. Being disowned and thrust into the dregs of society has left him bitter - with a hatred for the upper class and nobles in general. Obviously, he doesn‘t get along with many Magi, especially those of more noble lineage.
LIKES: //
Honor - Something I've lost.
Swordsmanship - My first love.
Attractive Women - Specifically, those that can cook.
Delicious Food - Specifically, food prepared by Attractive Women.
People with Money - Kissing ass never felt so rewarding.
Alcohol - Drown your sorrows away or douse the fires of physical pain. Either way, booze works.
Money - Won’t make you happy, but it can get you damn close to it.
DISLIKES: //
Honor - It's a love-hate relationship.
Expensive Crap - It’s crap that’s expensive. Why, I ask. WHY?!
Loud People - Not to be confused with Funny Loud People. I like those. There’s a word for this… Narcassisticism. Yeah. That. Need to stop drinking right before these interviews...
Poverty - Being poor sucks. See Expensive Crap.
Cockroaches - Not only are they one of the most annoying pests in the universe, they also taste bad. Uh. Ignore that last part.
STRENGTHS: // Trained as an Anti-Magus from a very young age, Tyonis boasts exceptional fighting skills despite his persona. He has a high resistance to pain and is capable in most conventional forms of combat, equaling a well-trained soldier. As a swordsman and athlete, he stands at a level beyond most of his peers and can perform far above the Olympic-level. He has seen many forms of Magecraft and can deal with Designated Sealing Magi with pure physical prowess. For this reason, he is regarded as an Above-Average Enforcer. His repertoire as a Magus is minimal, but it allows him to specialize - he knows very little advanced Magecraft, but what he does know he is extremely efficient at. His Sorcery Trait and extreme prowess with a handful of spells makes self-hypnosis easy, enabling him to cast those spells with less lines than normal despite not having a Thaumaturgical Crest.
WEAKNESSES: // Tyonis’ training was left incomplete, so he has little high-level techniques. As a Magus, his skill is minimal, and he would be graded as a low Five under the Mage Association‘s standards. In combat, he relies heavily on Runes, Reinforcement, and One-Line Spells. Furthermore, his lack of applicable Magecraft makes his tactics predictable in extended battles and rematches. Probably the most detrimental weakness is his hesitation to fight women, a mental scar from his past. [/ul][/blockquote]
MY FAMILY LINE: // The Reybrant is a known name within the Mage Association, boasting almost 750 years of knowledge and 14 generations of respectable Magi, although they have no political power within the Association as they have been in decline for the last four centuries. The family has far deeper roots and have served as members of the Knights Templar before realizing their magical potential and changing the family name to "Reybrant."
After Pope Clement V disbanded the Order in 1312, the family turned away from the teaching of The Church, believing that despite all their sacrifices and unwavering faith, God had abandoned them. A few members banded together and sold their abilities to the Mage Association around the 1320s, working as highly trained guards, with the leader of the group known as the First Knight. Interrelations between the knights and the Mage Association, both mediated and not, gave birth to a new line of Magi who adopted and adapted their predecessor's traditions, eventually culminating into the family known as "Reybrant." Strictly speaking, they were officially indoctrinated into the Mage Association in 1395.
One of the most prominent of the Reybrant's traditions and the one that makes them stand out among many Magi Families is the raising of two children. One to inherit the family’s Thaumaturgical Crest and the other to act as the "First Knight," the one who would lead the family's martial power. Both go through different types of training, corresponding to their role. Whilst the heir of the Crest would become a first-class Magus by single-mindedly studying Magecraft and the politics of the Mage Association, the First Knight would become the family’s guardian, reaching the pinnacle of their bodies and studying fragments of Magecraft that would further enhance his combat capacity. The First Knight would also hone the leadership skills required to command the Reybrant Knights - a fighting force formed from the Reybrant's branch families who still act as personal guards for various Magi Families.
Normally, having two potential heirs would result in a blood feud between the children, but their heritage as knights make the Reybrant honor physical prowess just as much as magical affinity. Unlike other lineages of Magecraft, as long as you prove yourself worthy, you are honored and respected by the family. In many ways, the title of First Knight is just as revered as the Magic Crest. It is a name that symbolizes the perfection of the Reybrant's swordsmanship and battlecraft. But this reverence comes as a double-edged sword: failure is not an option for the First Knight. The Reybrant also have a Sorcery Trait called "Crystal Clear." It hastens and hones the change in mental state when casting spells - a modified form of self-hypnosis that augments the ability to realize a mystery through Magecraft.
Currently, the Reybrant are in a worse state of decline with the death of their latest heir, Alexandra Reybrant, Tyonis’ sister. As of 2025, Tyonis’ father is the current head, with his uncle as First Knight.
MY HISTORY: // Tyonis Reybrant was told to have high magical potential. So his little sister, Alexandra, was a god-send - the one who would restore the family to their rightful place among the Mage Association. As she was groomed to become the family’s finest, Tyonis was taken away to be trained in the martial tradition. The young man spent years honing his skills, guided by the previous First Knight. Like all Reybrant, Tyonis possessed a natural affinity for combat, but he was also blessed with extraordinary magical talent, allowing him to dive deeper into Magecraft than his predecessors. He was predicted to become the strongest First Knight in the Reybrant’s extensive history.
So, when Tyonis delivered his sister’s remains to his father’s feet, he accepted his banishment without question, taking only his sword and the clothes on his back.
At a time when Tyonis’ own successes were starting to parallel her own, Alexandra's childish vanity clouded her judgment. Over the course of his training, Tyonis was assigned to assist in an Enforcer group on the hunt for a Magus who desired to become a Dead Apostle. On the premise of securing the Magus’ research, Alexandra joined the routine, intending to show off her own magical prowess in the field where her brother excelled. Sometime during the ensuing chaos, Alexandra was bitten by the vampire. Rather than let her turn, Tyonis killed her himself, even as she begged him to spare her life. After his return and subsequent banishment, Tyonis became a nameless Freelancer.
He honed his battle talents during those years, becoming recognized and powerful enough for the Mage Association to hire him as an Enforcer. He was a cut above a generic member, but one or two ranks below a "Top-Class Agent."
Nine years later, Tyonis would learn of the Holy Grail War. Through careful planning, he became an assistant for a Magus intending to participate. After learning all he could from the man's research, Tyonis slew the Magus and took the Servant's summoning catalyst.
MY GOALS: // To revive my sister. If the whole world has to burn for it, fine.[/blockquote]
A Knight's Honor - A beautifully crafted longsword made up of rare Rhenium steel with a Rune of Hardening inscribed on the base of the blade that increases its attack power far beyond a Black Key. It does not function like a Conceptual Weapon, but a powerful Mystic Code that specializes in inflicting physical damage. As a sword, it is of a very high quality and is a potent catalyst during Magecraft, increasing a spell's effect by a small amount while held. It was forged specifically for Tyonis’ use - it is a symbol of his lost position and is his only real treasure.
Since it is made of one of the most durable metals in the world, it will not break under normal circumstances and cleaves through concrete while the Rune is activated. Because Rhenium steel is three times denser than iron, the sword embodies Tyonis' raw strength, speed, and skill as he has been trained to wield it without Reinforcement. If a spell manifests some kind of solid element Tyonis can literally "cut through it." Mere proficiency with a blade of this caliber allows one to match Above-Average Magi in direct combat.
Because of Tyonis' thaumaturgical talent, ashes from his umbilical cord were used during the sword's creation to give him the option of materializing it through sorcery. It is normally stored as a small vial of black sand, which Tyonis breaks open to "unsheathe" it; essentially, a Single-Action Spell. To replace it, Tyonis shatters the sword into dust, which gathers back into the vial or where he designates. Otherwise, it can be kept like a normal sword. This unique function allows the sword to be repaired simply through re-manifestation. One of Tyonis' surprise attacks involves swinging an empty hand and materializing the sword mid-strike.
Carving Talon - A two-inch fingernail knife used to inscribe runes onto various surfaces. In worse-case scenarios, it can be used as a concealed weapon.
RANK: // 5th - Graded as an Average Mature Magus with no extraordinary abilities.
ELEMENT: // Wind
EXPERTISE: //
Swordsmanship - Tyonis' swordcraft is of the highest grade. He is capable of absurd feats of physical ability and his prowess alone is enough to defeat a Sealing Designated Magus. When combined with his Runes and Reinforcement, it makes for an undeniable threat even to Tier 1 Magi.
Reinforcement - Tyonis is proficient enough to perform Bodily Reinforcement and Alteration. He can Reinforce non-living things without an Aria.
Wind Magecraft - As Wind is his natural Element, Tyonis is utilizes it to supplement his physical prowess. This normally takes the form of One-Line Spells, but he is capable of performing one spell of this Element above Rank C.
Short Repertoire - Through a combination of Crystal Clear and intense experience, Tyonis can reduce the Aria requirement of his two most-used high-level spells by Two or Three-Lines. While this over-specialization makes his general education third-rate, it also means Tyonis is tremendously skilled and efficient at what he knows.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // 13 Magic Circuits with 11.5 PrC, brings him to 150.
SPELLS: //
A Knight‘s Honor (Mystic Code - 2 Spell Slots)
Rank: C
Cost: 5 Pr; 2 Pr/min (Physical Manifestation/Rune Activation)
Range: 115cm (45in)
Effect The base damage of A Knight's Honor can be further augmented by the physical prowess of the user and Magecraft. Through sheer strength, Tyonis can cut through a concrete wall with slight difficulty. As it is a Mystic Code that focuses on amplifying and inflicting physical damage, its effects are reduced by 1/4th against spirits and Servants have a much higher Resistance. A Servant with any level of Magic Resistance will find the sword to be nothing more than an enchanted butter knife.
Additionally, the blade can cut through C Ranked Magecraft as long as the Spell generates some solid, physical phenomenon (Such as Spells related to Ice, Water, and Earth). Rather than "block" a spell, it is more akin to "deflection." Materialization through sorcery qualifies as a Single-Action Spell and takes 500 milliseconds.
Full-Body Reinforcement (Material Alteration)
Rank: B
Cost: 14 Pr; 3 Pr/minute
Range: Personal
Effect: A spell that increases the fundamental concept of combat. Increases Speed, Strength, Endurance, and Perception by 1.3 Ranks for every Spell Rank based on how long Prana support can be maintained. At Rank B, Tyonis shatters concrete walls with his barehands and swings his sword at 80km/h (53mph).
Considered a "vulgar" form of Combat Reinforcement. It is unrefined and unstable as applied Prana constantly "leaks" out from the body forcing the caster to expend more Prana to maintain the heightened physical state. Originally requiring an Eight-Line Aria, Tyonis' mastery of it has shortened it to Five-Lines.
"I am a Knight without a King,
Destined for glory, I only found ruin.
Effort for naught. The seeds were sown, but nothing came to reap.
Still, you ask me to lift my broken sword and shattered shield?
Fine. Let this body be sacrificed for what little good it is worth."
Wind Blade (Wind)
Rank: D
Cost: 18 Pr
Range: 18m
Effect: Prana is used to distort the atmosphere around an object to create a thin vacuum which is “thrown” as a ranged attack capable of cutting through wood and other “light” material. Tyonis uses this spell more as a distraction than an actual attack, forcing his opponent to block or evade it, while he closes in.
Can be performed as a One-Line Spell without a Crest. Considered to be at the intermediate-low difficulty.
"Arm of the Hurricane Gale, STRIKE!"
Tempest Sword (Wind)
Rank: B
Cost: 75 Pr; 35 Pr/30sec
Range: 10m from the augmented object.
Effect: Concentrated Prana creates an atmospheric distortion around an object and contains it to greatly enhance the object’s cutting power - a bat can be made to lacerate steel plates. When the object is swung, the distortion “stretches” increasing the attack’s range up to 10 meters. The further away from the source, the less damage is inflicted, however attacks that connect at maximum range are still able to cut through flesh and bone. Using Tempest Sword in this manner creates an effect similar to a wielding a whip. Tyonis can dictate the attack's direction with just a thought.
In broad daylight, the spell's effect is practically invisible, making it a lethal attack that cannot be perceived under normal circumstances. Can be used bare-handed, if necessary. But the effects are fully realized when a bladed weapon is used, making it suitable for Tyonis' fighting style. He uses this in conjunct with his sword, creating a deadly blend of Mage and Swordcraft that has preserved his life for the last nine years, but it is one of his last trump cards and his greatest mystery.
Originally a Seven-Line Spell without a Crest, Tyonis' proficiency-level cuts the Aria down by Two-Lines. Despite not having the raw destructive power of many other Rank B Magecraft, this spell is considered to be one of the highest types of Modern Wind Enchantment and Charms because it has the properties of a mobile Bounded-Field.
"I call upon Sky's Throne,
To those who sows silent destruction and go unseen.
Lend your hammer and anvil,
Through forging unknown, the light air is made to sunder the heavy earth.
What I seek is the arm of the Wind King! TEMPEST SWORD!"
PLAYER'S NAME: // Fire_Lotus
FACE CLAIM: // Ryner Lute (The Legend of Legendary Heroes)
OTHER CHARACTERS: // Saitō Hajime (Assassin)
MISC. INFORMATION: // Master of the Servant Archer (Marian Fitzrobert).
Shortening of Arias: Having hunted and fought Magi to the death for nine years and before, Tyonis has "learned" how to quickly induce self-hypnosis mid-combat and outside of it. Normal Magi eventually come to stabilize and reduce the Aria requirements of their spells through study and training (honing their self-hypnosis). With the help of his Sorcery Trait, "Crystal Clear," Tyonis unintentionally accelerated that process through extensive life-or-death battles. This allows him to cut the Arias of his two-most-commonly-used high-level techniques by Two or Three Lines even without a Crest. If he couldn't, a Magus of his level would have died a long time ago. It is a skill gained through extreme adversity and natural ability. On the other hand, this over-specialization means his repertoire of Magecraft is extremely small. He can barely establish his own Workshop.[/ul]
Combat Capacity: The profile might lead one to believe that Tyonis is weak and while that is partially true, it should be noted that he is an Enforcer - a man specifically trained to hunt down extraordinary Magi. His physical prowess alone is enough to match such a Magus (performs far above the Olympic-Level without Reinforcement) and has almost ten years of combat experience. Although not a "Top-Class" Enforcer, Tyonis is among the best in that field, making him a very real threat. If Tohsaka Rin is 100 (Grand); Emiya Shirou is 40 (Magus Killer); and Bazett Fraga McRemitz is 75 (Top-Class Enforcer); then Tyonis would be 65 (Above-Average Enforcer).
