[/ul] [/blockquote]
- Dull and faceless facade
- Miguel's attempt at drawing people away from him. He puts on a dull emotionless face which to others would make him either seem uninteresting and boring, or extremely creepy. Despite it not working against his best friend, Tetsuro Yochi, he has made several school students take no notice of him, which is exactly what he wants. He only does this during the daytime.
- Torturous Hate
- His night time face is something that reveals his true intentions. Even just seeing him leaning on a wall at night will make a person feel uneasy. Talking to him at this time would be extremely gutsy and would bring more bad vibes around the area. It gets worse if he's witnessed performing magecraft, as it'll probably be the last thing one would see, if Miguel catches them before they decided to run.
- Hard Worker
- The side that's seen from him by certain people. His job at Copenhagen's means he has to be lifting and sorting certain goods. Doing it at a steady pace, he won't stop until he gets the job done for the day. He'd even do other people's work just because it passes the time. He needs to have a decent income for living alone, after all.
- Chance for change
- This side of him is extremely rare to see. Beneath his dull exterior and his cruel layer, he is really just misguided due to a series of events and deep down, he is nice and caring inside, even though he doesn't show it or say so. He never wanted to turn out like this and there is still a chance he can change into a better person, rather than the person his father wanted him to be.
LIKES: // Fire, his brother Pedro, true kindness, hope.
DISLIKES: // The general consensus of humanity, his father Pablo and the family lineage from that side, water, cruel people.
STRENGTHS: //
Miguel's true strength is having little to no friends prior to the war, due to his dull attitude and general preference of location. Aside from Tetsuro, there's really no-one else to bother him while he's thinking of plans to kill certain people. Another advantage of having little to no friends is that it would be harder for someone to get on his nerves, as in, if one were to capture one of his friends hostage, it would probably be only Tetsuro, which could have an impact on Miguel. His other strength is that he has quite the determination, even though it looks as if he has none. He would stop at nothing to get what he wants, no matter how long it would take.
WEAKNESSES: //
The downside of this dull facade is that there's virtually no-one to talk to. His social skills are usually relied on Tetsuro to help him speak to people. The true downside to Miguel is his family, or rather, reacting to people talking about his family. If one were to talk good about his father or about his brother in a bad way, he wouldn't hesitate to come up to them and tell them to take their comments back, which they usually do. This also adds as to why he only has a few friends at the moment.

MY FAMILY LINE: //
The Luria-Nova family has lasted 300 years and 4 Generations. Originally they were two seperate families which have lasted a lot longer before merging into one, with the Luria family lasting 600 years and 8 generations and the Nova family lasting 550 years and 7 generations. The Nova family's descendants began to lose their prana quality overtime and had to think of a way to permanently fix the situation. Rather than just adopting someone from another family, they decided to merge completely with a family which specialised in strengthening their kind with the use of bugs, their close friends, the Luria family. Thanks to this merge, the current lineage is quite strong, but even then, it's not really heard of in recent years outside some people at the Mage's Association and even then, it's not quite clear to them what the Luria-Nova family does or strives for.
Both sides of the family have different specialities. The Luria family specialises in bugs, using them to make their descendants stronger and less susceptible to interferences from the outside world. The Nova family, however, speacialise in fire. The combination of both fire and the use of bugs to make one stronger gives the Luria-Nova family an incentive. To create Hell, or rather, a magus capable of unleashing hell on another magus or even more if they were stronger.
The Luria-Nova family have a Sorcery Trait, coming from the Nova side of the family. A set of Mystic Eyes, known formally as Mystic Eyes of Accelerated Combustion. In short, it allows the user to spread a fire with the use of one's eyes, turning a small matchstick fire into a giant inferno if the user was powerful enough.
The Luria-Nova bloodline as it stands now has a good quality of circuits and are trying to increase that with every generation. Even though they aren't even near as good as the big clans of Clock Tower, they are still quite formidable, with a quality of 9 PrC for on average, 35 magic circuits as it stands today.
MY HISTORY: //
The life of Miguel Luria-Nova is one that no human being wants to go through. While his mother cared for him deeply, she could only watch in horror and let his father create the ideal magus of this generation.
In his early years, he was a very nice and caring individual, just like his mother and Pedro, his older brother, who always stuck up for him whenever he needed it. As he grew older, however, his father, Pablo, decided that he was going to be the next true heir of the Luria-Nova family, as Pedro wasn't blessed with Mystic Eyes of Accelerated Combustion like Miguel had.. That was when Miguel was first introduced to the Luria-Nova's version of hell. Bugs, bugs which would help strengthen the body, but the way they were implemented was more painful than anyone can think of. While his father respected Pedro's decision to not go through with such a thing, Miguel was not allowed to do the same thing. Despite having to endure such a ritual, Miguel stood strong, thanks to the support of Pedro and his mother, who later died from disease, yet even then, Pedro was there to help him get through all of it.
Then one day Pedro went missing. That was the turning point.
It is unknown today how Pedro disappeared. Some believe he ran away, others think he was secretly murdered by his father and carefully disposed of. Whatever the case, Miguel had no one left to really depend on, no shoulder to cry on, as his father was very cruel and abusive, which got worse after his mother's passing. His father's behaviour and the continuous torture of bug implementation, warped his brain further than anyone could really imagine. He was no longer the ideal boy, no, he was filled with hatred for his father. He devised a plan to escape from home, not caring how he'd survive out there. Gathering all his belongings, he was caught by his dad before he could actually leave, but Miguel had enough of the man who pushed him off the edge, there was nothing left to do but use what he had inherited from the Luria-Nova bloodline. Using his Mystic Eyes, he set fire to his father before fleeing into the unknown.
Beforehand, however, Miguel had overheard about the Holy Grail War from a conversation involving his father, which was going to be held in a small Italian town called Lucca. Something about the winner being able to wish for anything they desired. He also heared that his father's prized switchblade knife would be used to help summon a being called a 'Servant'. Miguel took this into account, stealing the knife and taking it with him when he left.
He also took as much money as he could, using most of it to catch a flight to Italy and using the rest on buying a place to live in Lucca, as well as to go to a school. Despite the private Instituto having big discounts for exchange students, he went to Mariano del Rinascimento Scuola, a suburban school, to lie low, as he thought that there would be a higher chance of rich kids being magi than the poorer ones. He was the loner at his school until a Japanese boy named Yochi Tetsuro decided to approach him. Initially Miguel refused friendship, but later reconsidered, as he believed it would be suspicious to be the loner ALL the time. Despite that he still maintained a very dull facade when at school.
By this time, he was sure that humanity itself was a waste, that everybody cared only for themselves and would always push the smaller ones over. He thought everybody was a sinner who deserved nothing more than eternal damnation. That was his intention of entering the Holy Grail War, to make life for everybody as painful and dreadful as his experiences with bugs were. However, deep down inside he has been wanting something far more all this time, to see his brother again. Not all hope has been lost in him yet, but depending on which way this war goes, it could push him just that little bit extra to make him truly evil.
MY GOALS: //
His intentional goal is to destroy humanity in an extremely violent and painful way, but deep down inside, there is a voice that wishes to bring his brother, Pedro back. [/blockquote]
Fire-retardant clothing: Of course the Luria-Nova family would not be as it is today if they did not think of wearing clothes that don't ever catch fire. Miguel is no exception, as all of his clothes are fire-retardant. He even wears gloves to help him with his Shooting Star spell.
Switchblade: He carries a valuble switchblade, stolen from his father. The blade is made from the spear 'Rhongomiant' and was supposed to be used as the catalyst for summoning a servant.
RANK: // N/A Did not enroll in Clock Tower.
ELEMENT: // Fire
EXPERTISE: //
Dull Daytime Facade
A way of concealing his true intentions and an attempt to make as little friends as possible. This facade basically shows little to no real emotion to anything, as well as being blunt in any answer given. Rather than having people think he is a creepy, evil fellow, he wants people to see him as a boring guy who they shouldn't waste time talking to. That way he wouldn't be making much friends and in his perspective, less friends means less distractions in the war, as well as having not much things to be used against him if anyone plays dirty during this war.
Poker Face
In any battle whatsover, or a dire situation he never shows signs of weakness, always having a confident face, even when things go down badly. This can help in various situations, like for example, making a thug completely scared when Miguel isn't scared himself. No matter what anyone tries, even when they speak about his father or Pedro, he wouldn't show signs of anger, aggression, or even sadness, nontheless he would still ask them to take their comments back, in a creepy, scary kind of tone and expression.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // Miguel has 35 magic circuts and 9 PrC, equalling a total of 315 Pr.
SPELLS: //
Mystic Eyes of Accelerated Combustion. (Fire)
Rank: Silver
Cost: 20-40 Pr
Range: 17.5m
The Sorcery Trait of the Luria-Nova family. By combusting the air arond a flame or a fire, the eyes can turn a small fire into much bigger one. Obviously the fire has to be in visual range and clearly visible for it to be a target of the eyes and also one would have to be at a safe distance if they don't want to get hit by their own attack. The maximum range for the eyes to work is 17 and a half metres, which amounts to better than average eyesight, one of the affects of the bug modification he endured.
The prana cost affects the rate and intensity of the growth. 20 Pr is the minimum, which can turn a campfire into something almost half the size of the Great Fireball Technique from Naruto (Only a ground fire). The more Pr put in, the bigger the fire gets at a faster rate. With 40 Pr input, the fire will grow insantaneously to massive proportions, like turning a campfire into a fire slightly bigger than the aformentioned Naruto technique.
Size and magnitude of the fire depends on the target fire as well, so using it on a forest fire would create a significantly bigger fire than using it on a bonfire. The fire itself would only last a few seconds or so, as it is overconsuming too much to sustain itself, but can still set flammable items alight to create more fires.
Ignition Finger (Fire)
Rank: E
Cost: 5
Range: 5m
A Single Action spell. Whilst the Mystic Eyes are used for making fires grow, this spell actually starts a fire. The user is able to create a high temperature flare that only lasts for nearly a second, coming out of the index finger when pointed at the target one wishes to ignite. The spell's maximum range is 5 metres, which can allow one to be at a good distance when starting a fire, but it can also be hazardous around extremely explosive materials. This spell is normally used in conjunction with the Mystic Eyes to create large scale fires.
Shooting Star (Fire)
Rank: D
Cost: 10-15 Pr
Range: 15m
A stronger variant of the generic FireBall. Like it's weaker counterpart, the temperature in the oxygen molecules are heated up to ignition point to create a ball of fire. The size of the ball can vary from the size of a baseball to that of a basketball, but the ball can propel at a reasonable speed and has a maximum distance of 15 metres before disappearing. The ball can easily create 3rd degree burns.
The spell is a one-liner and is a standard spell of the Luria-Nova family.
Flumen Infernalis (Fire)
Rank: C
Cost: 18 Pr
Range: 20m
Latin for 'River of Hell', the spell is not so much a thaumaturgical version of Greek Fire as it is the thaumaturgical inspiration of Greek Fire. A variety of fire that not only is water resistant but in fact hydrophilic, attempting to counter this attack with water spells is complete idiocy, as wetting it will only make it burn harder. Causes 4th degree burns on targets, if not downright burning them to a crisp. It is a creeping fire that initially manifests as a fireball the size of a marble. Once it strikes a flammable surface, it will spread relentlessly, impervious to liquids and wind. It is best countered with smothering.
A two-verse spell that is taught at the more advanced levels, older families with this in their Crests have stabilized it to the level of Four-Liner. Affinity to Water is not a requirement for this spell, nor does it improve its capabilities.
River of Hell was developed in the Byzantine Empire in the 6th Century AD, by a group of magi in the heart of Constantinople. Various chemists at the time who unwittingly witnessed the event sought to replicate this magecraft and scientifically developed Greek Fire, which went on to be used by the Byzantine Navy. Greek Fire, however, is inferior to the spell, as it can be put out by liquids such as old vinegar or strong urine, aside from smothering.
PLAYER'S NAME: // Daniel H. (Alias Charlie Anderson)
FACE CLAIM: // Red, from the Pokemon Series
OTHER CHARACTERS: // Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar and Tetsuro Yochi
MISC. INFORMATION: // There is an idea that through Mordred's connection with Angra Mainyu, if she turns Alter, that Miguel would be darkened as well. This is going to be a cosmetic change as well as a mental change, but only at that. It will not affect the power of spells whatsoever, although I did have hopes to create a true 'Hell' atmosphere if there was ever a battle in a place similar to that chamber in Heaven's Feel, but I believe that creating the 'Hell' environment would be too much to approve.
