- Twisted Perception
- Cirillo doesn't see the world in the same way that normal humans do. His perception of reality is much more nightmarish, much more freakish, than anything the average person would like to see on a daily basis. While certainly evil by the standards of society, in his opinion, his desire to bring everything to the way he sees it is perfectly natural. It is pointless to discuss ethics or morality with him as his base is entirely different than yours.
- Hides Behind the Mask
- While his own viewpoint is in contrast with normal people's Cirillo is able to maintain the illusion of sameness when in social situations, at least for a little bit. He can be funny, charming, sociable...but its not what he's really thinking and not how he's really feeling. He does better in groups than in one on one conversations, where his true personality will surface.
- Remorseless
- Goes with the traits above. Cirillo doesn't show remorse for any of his actions, no matter what the consequences are. People dead? Irrelevant. Property destroyed? Part of life. Psyche shattered? Closer to perfection. An object...or a person...twisted to his desires, wonderful. No matter what, once the action is done there will be no apologies, no regrets. What's done is done and the only question is where to go from there.
- Manipulative Sadist
- Borderline compulsive in his use of lies and compliments, Cirillo will say whatever he needs to get you to do what he wants. Overtime, he'll start forcing you to change your personality to match his own demands, slowly and subtly. Soon you'll become dependent on him and then he'll increase his demands, bending you to match what he needs. Then when he has no further use for you, there are two options. If he likes you, he'll keep you around to sculpt your mind even further. If he doesn't, he'll cut you loose, depriving you of his presence, leaving you unable to fulfill the need he cultivated within you.
- Complete Lack of Empathy
- Similar to remorselessness. To Cirillo, people and animals are just tools and toys, to be used and played with until he's done with them and then discarded for the next. If he shows any emotion to another human being, its selfish amusement. Not even those in his own family are safe from his selfish manipulation. While still young, he broke his sister's mind to the point where she worships and fears him.
- Intelligent/Perceptive
- Even when just a child, Cirillo displayed immense intelligence. He was quick to understand even if he was always rebellious. Between his sister and himself, he was the sharper child and quickly learned to understand the feelings of others. While his intelligence was undeniable, the family were fearful that they could not control him. In return, he learned how to take control without them even realizing he was doing so. Until it was too late.
- Complete Monster
- Though not necessarily violent, Cirillo is an irredeemable monster. He uses normal relationships to his twisted ends, digging his claws into his victims minds until they are so reliant on him for whatever shred of interest their minds construe as affection that they would literally do anything for him. He holds nothing sacred in his ambitions, will do anything if he thinks it will help further his goals.
LIKES: //
- Control
- Controlling people
- Efficiency
- Being idolized
- Corrupting the world to what he sees
- Malleable people
- His pet/sister
DISLIKES: //
- Resistance
- Incompetence
- Other people (Unless they're subservient to him)
- Authority
- Reality
- Society
- His extended family
STRENGTHS: //
Cirillo has always had high intelligence, even as a kid. His total lack of concern for others allows him to use people as he needs them without any hesitation. This lack of hesitation also applies to quick decisions in general. Whereas others might get bogged down in the planning, Cirillo will make fast decisions and deal with the consequences later. His perception allows him to easily manipulate those around him to do what he needs them to do.
WEAKNESSES: // Being rash also comes with its down sides. While he won't waste time with a decision, that doesn't necessarily mean it is the best decision. While patient when dealing with his victims and marks, Cirillo can become incredibly irritated and aggressive when something prevents him from doing what he desires, which causes him to become even more careless with his decisions. He's also a sociopath, which means that even though he might act normal, he isn't, and people who observe him long enough might notice he's acting strangely.

MY FAMILY LINE: // The Renzi family line dates back to the Lombard Kingdom of Italy, though they claim even further to the time of the Late Roman Empire. The founder of the house, Aldo Renzi, established the modern line of magi in the year 627 CE, when Arioald came to the Lombard throne. Arioald had deposed his brother-in-law, who had been a Catholic and a friend to the Holy Church. Arioald himself was not, preferring the counsel of his nobles than any representative of God. He granted Aldo Renzi land in the province of Siena to govern, and Aldo quickly established his workshop in the countryside, given the privacy to research and study without the eyes of the Church peering in questioningly.
The family is old, just reaching its 1400 year, but their prana levels are not as high as one would expect from a family with their age. The average circuit count of the family is twenty five circuits at 7 PnC, or around 175 prana total. The crest contains 30 circuits at 7 PnC for an additional 210 prana, naturally only granted to the head of the family. Since Aldo, there have been twenty three heads of the family, with Cirillo being the twenty-fourth, though his claim is disputed. Though he holds the crest, his sister was designated heir and many in the family...disapprove of how he came to be head, to the point where most of the family refuse to acknowledge him as such.
The family believed the best way to reach the Spiral of Origin was to be able to control every little aspect of their surroundings and lives. To understand everything, one must be able to control it as well. Aldo believed that if he could achieve absolute control over a small isolated microcosm, he would be able to see where it started from, and from there extrapolate on how to reach the source of everything. His successors took this idea even further, attempting to control not just everything physical, but abstract and emotional as well.
All members of the family have a set of mystic eyes, though the strength of these eyes vary between individual family members. The family's eyes grant them the power of hypnosis, keeping with their desire for control. Unlike Mystic Eyes of Enchantment, which takes mental domination of its target, the Renzi family eyes are more subtle in their use. The eyes allow the Renzi family to control the emotions of their target. If they want you to do something, they simply use their eyes to make you agreeable rather than directly force you to perform the task.
MY HISTORY: // Cirillo was born as the younger of a pair of twins. His older sister, Alessia, was born two minutes and thirty seven seconds before he was. Alessia showed far greater potential as a magus while they were growing up and it was clear to all that she was going to succeed their father as the Head. Cirillo, on the other hand, was seen as a freak. While his sister had inherited a strong set of Mystic Eyes, his was different from the rest of the family. They saw it as weaker and dismissed Cirillo quickly as unworthy of succeeding their father.
Cirillo spent most of his early years ignored, living in the shadow of his sister. As such, none of the family paid much mind when he would act...oddly. They would punish him if he broke their, in his eyes, arbitrary rules, but at all other times, he was left alone.
He was different from the rest of his family, though the differences went farther than just his abnormal eyes. Cirillo had never been a stupid child, no matter what his family thought. He had inherited their desire to control everything that he could, but not to reach the same end. Cirillo was a destructive child. He would break anything given to him, before rebuilding it into something else...a twisted mockery of what it had been before. His family had desired to control what was already there, but Cirillo understood that the only way to truly control something was to destroy it...and then rebuild it as you see it.
He grew tired of breaking and reshaping inanimate objects, and physically breaking living things never brought about his desired result. This irritated Cirillo. How could he control everything if he could not rebuild a broken living thing?
It came to him early in his experiments to learn how to rebuild a dead bird. If he couldn't physically change the outward appearance of a living being, what if he could change their 'life'. He would reshape their minds and feelings to suit his needs and whims. Had that not been what his family had been doing for generations? His eyes might not have allowed him to do it as easily as his sister, but there were other ways to dig his fingers into a person's very being. He would simply need to find the proper incentives and punishments to mold them as he saw fit.
His sister was his guinea pig. She had always been an obedient girl, as the elders had preferred. She had been the only one to pay much attention to him. But he didn't care about that. He needed to learn how to control people...and she'd be the one to teach him. His family never even suspected as the twins continued to grow up that Cirillo was tying the puppet strings around his sister tighter with every passing day.
When they were fourteen, Alessia had become completely and utterly dependent on her twin brother. Cirillo considered all his efforts a success. He had broken a person and rebuilt them completely. Despite being the better magus, Alessia was Cirillo's thrall. Even if she became head, he would be in effect the ruler of the family, but could he say he had full control over another person's life if she held the title? She was no longer suitable to be the successor. Cirillo began to prepare for the moment his father died.
It went surprisingly easy. Using his sister's natural ability, he forced his father to name Cirillo as the successor to the Renzi line. Within the month, their father died of a heart attack from stress. It was odd, the family said, he had been such a confident man, but this past month, he had really started to slip. It was odder still, they continued, that that boy was given his title. He had spent so much time training Alessia, after all.
Paranoia and suspicion descended on the Renzi estate. The family knew that something was odd about their new head and his rise to power. Cirillo maintained his masquerade of true successor, watching patiently as the family members left one after another, for reasons they could not put into words. When those who would be likely to oppose him had fled, he dropped all pretense of innocence. Alessia was reduced from appearing as an independent, if strangely obedient, lady to being the maid of the Renzi estate, her brother's personal servant.
It was too late for the family to stop Cirillo. He had already dug his claws into all those who remained, and those who had 'fled' had been driven out by feelings he had cultivated within them. Cirillo was the master of the Renzi Estate, and there was nothing anyone could do to change that. He seized control, just as his family had always preached.
In the outside world, Cirillo works as an adviser to various people in various fields. His advice might be good, it might be bad, but that doesn't matter. You will end up doing as he suggests in the end. No one from outside the estate knows just how twisted Cirillo really is and he covers his tracks well.
He learned of the Holy Grail Wars from various contacts of his, and learned of the one that was taking place in Lucca. The idea of winning a miracle interested him greatly. With that power, could he 'destroy' the entire world, freeing it from its normality and turning it into the world he had always seen? He and his sister came to the city, renting an upscale townhouse; his intent to win the war and make usurp the current reality with his own.
MY GOALS: // To break the world and rebuild it.
[/blockquote]
Fine Italian Suit: Cirillo knows the most important part of blending in and taking control is to look the part. He dresses in an expensive suit and keeps himself presentable at all times when in public. Composure is key, and dressing the part always helps maintain an illusion of respectability.
Business Cards: Any respectable gentleman must have a card to give potential clients. Cirillo carries around a stack to hand to people. After all, no harm calling a man for advise every now and then...right?
Silver Rolex: Because it's always important to make an impression. An expensive watch is a statement after all.
RANK: // Unranked
ELEMENT: // Water
EXPERTISE: //
Silver Tongued: Cirillo is good at making what he says sound wonderful to the listener, even if it is something they would not normally do. He has perfected his talent of appearing to connect with people to the point where, given enough time and exposure to the target, he can know exactly the right words to say to that person.
Emotional Sculpting: Even without the normal eyes his family possesses, Cirillo is skilled at bringing out exactly the emotional response he is looking for. The longer he works on one art piece, the easier it becomes to control that person's emotions.
Demolition: Not in the construction sense of knocking down buildings, but just a knack for breaking things. Cirillo has always had a destructive personality when it comes to other things in this world. Over the years, he's become quite skilled at breaking anything if he puts his mind to it.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // 25 circuits at 6 PnC for 150 Prana, plus 210 from his crest for a total of 360 prana.
SPELLS: //
Oculi Dementiae (Mystic Eyes)
Rank:
Cost: 40 prana
Range: 10 meters
Effect:
Mystic Eyes of Sensory Perversion. When activated, Oculi Dementiae is a high-level hypnosis spell, though not one that affects how the target thinks. Instead, it uses hypnosis to affect how the world is perceived by the victim. Oculi Dementiae changes how the brain interprets the stimuli it receives from the eye. When affected, the victim will perceive what he sees as a nightmarish world, where even the most innocent object turns into a terror to behold.
Eye contact must be established between Cirillo and his target for the eyes to take effect. Sunglasses or other protective eyewear that conceal the pupils will diminish the effectiveness of the mystic eyes. If he can't make full eye contact, the only sense that might be suffered on the part of the victim would be sight, as opposed to all five.
From the exact moment Cirillo flashes his eyes at a victim, there is a delay of a second for the hypnosis to start taking effect. After that first second, the effect gets stronger and the nightmare becomes more intense...until the hypnosis runs out or the magical effect is washed out. The effect increases dramatically until it reaches its peak of horror, which it maintains before dropping dramatically as the effect wears off.
Because a magus is able to know if there is foreign magic in his system and attempt to eradicate it, Oculi Dementiae will not always work when used on magi. Especially if that magus is trained in magic that affects the mind. However, eradicating its effect requires an active effort, not just a passive resistance.
Because of the gradual and continuous warping of perception, it is almost impossible to realize you are under hypnosis if you did not realize it instantaneously. The rational part of the mind is silenced by the fear-induced insanity. After all, when faced with their darkest and most irrational fears, people are not known to be very astute or perceptive. If a person has not realized they are hypnotized five seconds after the eyes take effect, they will not be able to focus enough to actively resist the eyes.
If they expect the effect of the eyes, they can prepare themselves for the initial fear to activate their prana to flush out their system.
Should the initial contact and enchantment be successful, the length of time that a person is hypnotized is ten minutes. At 1 second, the world begins to distort to whatever world the victim finds scary. At 3 seconds they begin to see things that aren't there. At 5 seconds, they begin to hear voices, usually of someone they fear the most. At 30 seconds, their minds simulate physical sensations so that they feel as though they are being burned, buried, cut, maggots crawling on them, suffocated...whatever their phobias are. At 1 minute into the effect, all five senses are twisted to create a nightmare world.
Servants without magic resistance will be affected by the eyes. While their senses will be distorted as a humans, their bodies will not suffer from the stress of being afflicted with a nightmare (So while they might feel creatures crawling on them, it won't raise their heart beat, cause them to faint from terror, etc.) However, as the effect of the eyes is hypnotic in nature, servants with skills such as Bravery or Vitrification (Any skills that nullify mental effects) will render the eyes useless.
The effectiveness of Oculi Dementiae fluctuates the more it is used. A person can only maintain abject terror for so long before they become exhausted. If used in rapid succession, the eyes will have less and less of an impact as they wear the victim down. Every use also allows for the victim to realize that they are being hypnotized.
For those who are able to grasp its nature as hypnosis, the scare factor of what they see is partially mitigated by the knowledge that it is, in the end, all in their head. For those unable to realize this, the nightmarish vision becomes worse and worse as their mind creates scarier images.
Vox Vis (Water)
Rank: D
Cost: 5
Range: 10 meters
Effect: A light suggestion spell, tied to his voice. Every sentence said while this spell is activated costs 5 prana. It cannot force someone to do something they do not want to do, but it can remove hesitation on the listener's part. Will have almost no effect on any decent magus.
PLAYER'S NAME: // Thor

MISC. INFORMATION: // Well, let's see...First things first, thanks Ilya, for letting me use Drucilla as a template for Oculi Dementiae. Give credit where it's due, I liked the presentation and decided to use it for Cirillo's own eyes. Since Nahash says he's done, Koschei would need a master and I'm doing this as a favor for Rus.
