problems with CBOX

I don't know if it's just me, but I can't seem to get the CBOX to load. In every time I access this site, even on different PC and different connection, it always failed to load up and show only "The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments." error message. Always.

I think this maybe a country restriction or something. With that said, do you know how I could fix this and use the CBOX like everybody else?

<sup>Well, it's nothing to do with me, or restricted access. Usually, it's a cookies problem. I don't know it does it from time to time, but I can't load certain cboxs during certain days. I doubt that the serve is busy since I can pull it up if I go into the controls. I know some places restrict cboxes depending on firewalls (my job does that). All I can suggest is using the website and seeing if that works. If not, clear all everything from history (cookies, caches, forms, sites, authenticated users, etc).

I'm not exactly sure I get the new C-Box RP post. Are those all taken characters and people are allowed to make new cannons? Do we like request them in a PM to a admin?

As most people might end up getting confused and wonder what is already there, what happened, how can I take a step inside without stepping on a landmine, this thread is meant to give an explanation.

Characters who already appeared are usually taken, but most can see for themselves how often they see a character and how often not. As it would be useless and a bit unfair for one person to take hundreds of characters while not able to keep up with their presence, a 'change of ownership' is not too difficult. The rules, if one may call them as such are also not too strict.

Out of fairness, it is still better to at least ask if the character X is currently in use or if you could just take it, that no problems occur. It would not be too much of a problem to have multiple chars either, as long as the numbers are not too great. Having dozens of Rins... Is annoying is fine, but the rest should be just one.

It is of course less likely that characters who are also controlled on the RP by someone or have already managed to become a very important character for the 'cbox' world would be available and the RPer most likely very disturbed and angry. Characters one might stay away from are as such most likely: Any kind of Rin, Crimson Moon, Ryougi Shiki, Aoko, Touko, Saber - Arturia, Rider - Drake, Rider - Medusa, Sakura, Lancer - Chu, Lancer - Achilles, Caster - Tamamo, Rider - Odysseus, Emiya (2 now), Luvia (lookalikes), Lorelei, Sion, Iskander, Illyasviel, Irisviel.

But even that is not entirely fix. Just asking is always the best option, especially as the list also contains people who just popped up once and then never again.

This probably belongs here. I was wondering it might be a good idea to have 2 separate c-box's or maybe a link to a different box just for Rping? I say this because it seems lately that the box is really getting cluttered. It might be just because we have so many new member that have a lot of questions though. Anyway just wanted to know the higher up's opinion on the matter.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever put up an "in character" post in the c-box. Maybe it's cause this site doesn't have a dedicated Off Topic Discussion section but I (and from the looks of it most other people too) just see the c-box as a sort of OOC hangout.

The cboxes and its people define the style a lot. Many OOC conversations are in fact held quite IC. A combination of both is possible. Many have adapted the bracket style to use OOC speech, which is a bit funny to watch when the current convo is obviously only OOC.

Mister Walker's comment about most others is not true though, or was not true. Before the appearance of so many new characters the cbox was more of an RP than an OOC cbox in fact. Big enough to actually house storylines and arcs, although most have gotten slow nowadays.

We have a second c-box, but it is not nearly as great as the currently site-installed c-box and more as an emergency tool than a splitting.

If people are interested in Off Topic Threads, throw them into the Mini Games Board. That is the Off Topic Board and can be used for just anything.
