Welcome to Fate/Nuovo Guerra. While we would like all members to enjoy themselves and feel free, we do expect everyone to adhere by the rules of this site. If you happen to break a rule, we will not automatically ban you. As long as the mistake is corrected, there shouldn’t be any problem. However, if it becomes a problem and warnings aren’t followed, you may end up suspended or permanently removed depending on the situation.
Now before anything else, we would like to give you a friendly reminder, with our Zeroth Rule:
0) Read the rules. ALL of them. It will save us ALL the trouble. AND INCLUDE the character pointers. They are more than just pointers, but a set of rules. When in doubt, read the rules. When in further doubt, consult with the Administration. We'll be happy to answer your questions.

1) No advertisement outside of the Plug Board. Advertisements will not be tolerated in the cbox, to members to private messages, or on any other board. Anyone breaking this rule will be banned immediately, no excuse. The Plug Board exists for advertisements so please use it.
Also, if you don't have an ad board for us to post back in, your ad will be deleted. Equivalent exchange is the rule of the day.
2) No stalking, harassing, or bashing members. It's not nice. There will be warning but excessive harassment will not be tolerated. Please treat everyone with respect. This also applies to the OOC Box.
"Bashing" also extends to their characters. If you have a complaint about a character or member, that's what the "Report Member" button is for.
Even joking around has its limits and respect should be normal. This goes especially for mods, who have other things to do than indulge on Trolling.
3) We will not allow porngraphic pictures to be posted, anime or otherwise.
4) Do not steal or plagiarize. Do not copy something you did not write. Do not copy things from other sites or from other members. Anyone caught will automatically be banned.
5) Be active. If for some reason you cannot post, please let us know. And yes, this place is an RP Forum, you are supposed to RP. We have the RP Box to RP, we have the forum and while we are quite lenient to the point of some members really only showing up in the box, a certain RP is required. People who literally just show up to troll other members are for most obvious reasons not welcome here. All leniency has its limits.
6) The OOC Box is for civil, OOC discussions that relate to the forum. It is where newbies are directed to if they want their questions answered in real time, rather than via PM. If you wish to be a random, violent, shallow, and/or uncivil prat, take that to the Z̵à̵́l̸̡g̷͡҉o҉̢҉̴ Box and keep it there. Note that we do not recommend going to the Z̴͞a̵̢̕l͞҉gó̡͡ Box unless you want to vent an urge to be random that cannot be suppressed. We understand that this is the internet, and that randomness will continue to exist because of Z҉̛͝à̷̵̢͘l̡̧̛̛̀g̀͞o̶̸͠. As such, rather than outright ban anybody who starts spouting talk about playing with casting kitchen utensils as actors in a play, we will instead direct him to the Z̨͜͢͞͡a҉̵̶l̵̢g̀͘̕͜o̸̧̨̢͡ Box until he's done venting his randomness and is ready to return to the world of order.
The Z̴̢͏͝a̷͠l̷̸̴̢̕g̛͘͞͡o̶̷͡͡ Box is intentionally crappy. Why? We discourage randomness, and thus if you want to use it, you must put up with lack of aesthetic design, and auto-refresh, the latter of which is the main reason why we keep our CBoxes paid for in the first place. Nevertheless, even the Z̴҉͞a͏̷ĺ̵̡͟g̶̴̨͟͝ó͠ Box has limitations. If we see some kind of drama happening there, action will be taken. You have been warned.
Note: The Administration reserves the right to change these rules either by addition, subtraction, or modification, with or without warning. But we're nice guys, and will probably tell you of any changes anyway. Have fun. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

1) One character per account. Each character must have its own account.
2) Your character name should be your screen name: First Name and Last Name. Due to the alterations in the War system, this includes Servants.
3) Face claims must be anime/manga style characters. No CGI images or drawn art. Game characters are fine, but images need to be anime style instead of 3D. For a list of claimed faces, see HERE. The list also shows which Master is partnered with which Servant, as well as any Masters or Servants who don't have partners.
4) Avatars and signatures should be of your character. Avatars should be 100 x 100 and signatures should be no more than 300 x 600. Bigger signatures will be resized.
5) Because we don't want to have people spamming servant creations, you are only entitled to have a servant if you also have a master character. You need to make a new master for each additional servant. To allow a suitable RP Flow, the beginning limit will be 2 servants per RPer, but this can be extended if you show that you can handle more.
6) When employing canon characters, keep in mind that unless they're immortal, they'll be 23 years older. Additionally, canon approvals will be stricter and likely involve a few test RP posts. No masters from the 5th War. They all died. Lookalikes are only possible if they are close relatives and even then we expect a very good explanation. This applies to ALL Type-Moon Characters! For more information, read the plot synopsis here.
7) With the exception of Arturia Pendragon, Hercules, and Gilgamesh, canon Servants are open to summoning, so long as the personalities are compatible, or a properly-justified catalyst exists. But bear in mind that they have to be new copies, without knowledge of previous wars. In the case of Arturia, she got eaten by the Grail, and as such, cannot be summoned as another copy because she is not a complete heroic spirit yet. In the cases of Gilgamesh and Hercules, the guys are just plain broken. When making a canon Servant, ASK FOR PERMISSION FIRST! We'd also prefer to see more OCs. An important reminder. NO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS!!
7b). To be reiterated in the Character Pointers/Guide thread, you cannot use heroes who became famous after 1900. You especially cannot use Simo HäyhEaka the White Death aka that Finnish sniper with 700+ kills. This has been attempted three times already, and hopefully, this mention will prevent further attempts.
8) Fate Extra characters are partially allowed, but we reserve the right to not approve of characters who don't fit into the FSN Nasuverse. Such as a "certain Berserker". You don't know who is meant? Even better.
9) The grail is outside of the regular multiverses. It also allows that a character can have another gender in another dimension. This universe is based on the same universe as the one, you might know from FSN, but this only means that everything in the 5th war happened, with the exception of the tragic outcome, but the past remains unclear and does not need to be based on reality, nor 100% on FSN. Just because WE know that Achilles was a male demi-god, does not mean that he was not actually a female in THIS universe. Genderbending (or "Arturia Syndrome", as we call it around here) should be limited nonetheless. Bending Canon characters is not allowed, because they were obviously already seen with their gender in the 5th War.
10) There are people who only like to make masters and probably people who only wish to make servants. If you can partner up with one of them and have a master reservation PRIOR to the creation of your servant profile we'll make an exception to Rule 5. But they MUST, as stated before, have a master BEFORE their profile creation. We don't want to add servants to our list and end up having no masters for them. You might end up waiting a while before anyone really looks at your profile, if you break that rule.
11) Your character can be any class, but it must fit to the character. We hope to not see an overload of Sabers and will 'LOCK' a class once we have too many of said class. Presently, there is a limit of seven (7) Servants per class.
12) Assassins don't need to be Hassans. Choose freely.
13) No witches or sorcerors.
14) Read and follow the Character Guide. It is not just a Guide but also a rule. It is more than strange to have characters with traits that are actually mentioned as forbidden in the Character Pointers.
15) Only make as many characters as you can RP. There are times when your partner is stuck and you will have to wait. These are the times when it is nice to have another character to use, but you should not forget that your partner will also come back, while this does not automatically mean that the other partner will vanish. There are times when you might have to be ALL at once. Of course no one will pressure you into multiple posts a day, but it would be a bit unfair to let people wait for weeks.
16) For those who have issues filling in the Personality section of the, there is now a simpler template version. When attempting to create a more simpler character personality or having problems with the default template, the current sheet might be asking for more than the intended personality would have, it's up to each one own discretion to make use or not of the simpler template, however, keep in mind that the simpler version still follow rules and can have less than 175 words for it's description. In case that you be enlightened by God, Buddha or your own creativity and switch to a more complex personality, it's necessary to return to the use of the default template as to help both yourself and all others that will eventually read your profile.
17) We are supporters of the KISS (Keep it Simple, Sam) principle. If you're leaving, and would like to give your characters to somebody else, this will be our simple policy:
Please just change the passwords to your characters' accounts, and PM them to the respective people who will be adopting your characters. This can save us all a lot more effort than the adopter making a new account, us admins unlocking the profile for them to say, "I will be using this account from now on", and then locking again. And of course, there would be less clutter from a new account. It's just a lot easier to give the account, which represents the character in question, to a new person.
Let's keep this in mind.
18.) Church Personnel is an own class and reserved to the Supervisor Team. This is also mentioned elsewhere, but it makes no sense to explain some information and not put it up into the general Rule. Here it is. If you want to make a Church Character, you need to ask the staff. It will then be discussed, and the idea pre-approved. After this a profile can be written in the Church Control Post Thread and will undergo regular approval. Other characters that are not necessarily supervisors MAY be seen, but those are especially case-sensitive and very difficult to implement. It has to be considered that all Church Personnel is part of the Church and controlled. This War is close to Rome and not in some foreign country.
************
1) Know yourself, know your enemy. You need to know the stats in order to RP a battle out. Writing something like "I blocked easily" when the opponent is overpowering your STR by 3 levels is very unlikely.
2) Although YOU as the RPer should know such things, your master and/or servant are only allowed to know as much as they can know. Your knowledge/matrix over a character will raise the more often you fight them, but you cannot know their identity and noble phantasm just because you meet them. That's commonsense.
3) We decided to switch the possible battles into a mode where you can enjoy yourself against monsters and eventually masters or servants. Deaths are in general not reasonable in this mode, except a character wishes for this. You can also make your own monsters.
4) The Grail War unfortunately needs victims. You can either request them or the mods will have to do so in the later stages of the grail war. The War won't last forever. The DUELs are only Servant vs Servant and will be RPed as the mode in Rule 3.
5) If you have trouble to decide you can ask a mod to help you. We have prepared a decision mode and a longer, more complex battle mode. Decisions of the mods have to be accepted. The system is unbiased, fair and includes your character stats accordingly.

1) No posting until accepted. Posting anywhere in the roleplay before your application is accepted is bad. Such posts will be deleted.
2) Posts must be at least 250 words. This is a literate site that does not tolerate one-liners. If there is a problem with posting 250 words, then it is advised not to join this site. Be advised that to enforce this rule, the RPing boards contain a script that prevents you from submitting your post until its word count reaches the required minimum.
3) No godmodding, powerplaying, or auto hitting. You do not control anyone’s character besides your own, and no character is invincible.
4) No chatspeak. Please try to use correct grammar and spelling when posting. Things like chatspeak are not acceptable in a literate roleplay.
5) ChatboxBecause writing Rules twice is BETTER! All Rules apply to the c-box.
a.) RP Box: Although we have less strict rules about the Nasuverse and allow a lot of freedom, characters should still fit into it. No all powerful gods or super magicians when we all know how a magus, gods etc. are defined in the Nasuverse, to give an example. We would also hope to not see canon faces over and over again, as it counts as a character steal. If you want a character you can ask. For more information: Here It changes frequently, so not all information might be available at the time of reading. Ask questions. The c-box is useful.
We now have 2 cboxes, one random and for asking and another for RPing. As can be seen, we had rules before and a story, those rules still apply and we hope the cursing won't take overhand. Because the RP box is an RP Box, it should be treated a bit more seriously than the random box and the characters should stay to some degree IC and have a power level depending on their character. IC here does not mean that the Character has to be the same as in the actual War RP, it also does not mean that it has to be too seriously, rather than on be on a Ataraxia Niveau.
CM, some Rins, Touko, Ilya, Torako, Aoko, Arturia also take the role of a mediator, to some degree because of their high powerlevel and otherwise because they are owned by mods. Of course they are supposed to act 'IC' on the cbox, which makes it possible that you can lose your head if you piss them off. They are chosen as the most powerful individuals for a reason...
The Dojo System was established to counter permanent deaths and is of course managed by the 'dojo staff'. The 'ban' is only supposed to be either short lived IC, or a bit longer that a character (RPer) can cool their head off. Not complying to the first instance, which basically just tells you to calm down before something bad happens, all procedures of a board rule break can occur.
This means that if one of your character misbehaves it can be send out of the dojo and only those who are willing to be together with your troublesome chara might follow you to speak with you, leaving the rest alone. Nobody wants someone in their company who constantly annoys them, why should the dojo people? It is supposed to help you see that the character might not work like that or ask to have an extra setting where the 'bad guys' can hang out, or you just get another character and try again.
It might happen IC that a person steps over the rules, because it is their character, but it is still not fully accepted. If you complain or continue, you will get an OOC warning, but that's it. Everything after that is a rule break for most obvious reasons. It is NOT just IC after that...
b.) OOC Box, is meant for discussion, and OOC statements. It is quite common for people to drift off a bit into IC, but while this is no bigger problem, you should be aware that a character being a villain IS not a reason to act like an ass in it. This kind of IC-ness will not be tolerated. No Trolling, no bashing, no hating. A little teasing is fine, but especially there you could see people feeling extremely uncomfortable, while others just played around. OR even worse, it escalated because two parties began to push each other up with comments. Don't be shy and say when it is enough. Although not the best approach... Use: !text! and eventually color it to really state how much of a problem it is for you. It could help people to get out of bad situations without a ban. Many bad things can happen in the heat of battle. Although less serious in the OOC box than the RP box, please respect Face Claims there.
6) Register all new RP threads on the calendar. We like to keep our war organised. To prevent any confusion with the chronology, all new threads must be registered in the calendar here.
7) Warn us beforehand when not being able to post at the roleplay boards. No one likes to wait, even less when you don't know what you are waiting for. Whatever may be the reason for you to be absent and/or unable to reply to your active threads, leave a message at the Extros board announcing your leave, you do not need to get into details since we all will respect your privacy, if know, adding an estimate time of absence will also be of a great help to those waiting for you to adequate themselves accordingly.
Even if it is a 'slight' activity drop. Even if it's not even an 'absence'. If you're going to be inactive, please say so.
If this requirement can't be followed, all players involved in the thread(s) that include the missing person are allowed to skip said member if he/she does not post again in a time span of 3 days and if there is no contact of said member within the time span of a week, he/she can be dropped out from the thread(s) in question. When the missing member returns, he/she is allowed to re-entry the thread(s) with everyone agreement.

Article 1. On Disciplinary Measures
1.1. On Warnings and Their Merits
Once a report is sent, or if a blatant incidence is spotted, the following procedure will be put into action:
Notification of warning: The new Warning Pool will have an escalation point of five (5) warnings, as opposed to the original three (3).
The Warning Pool will also have a cooldown period of one (1) month. After one (1) month, one (1) warning will be deducted from a person's pool for good behaviour.
First (1st) Offence – The first offence will merit a verbal warning and one (1) addition to the Warning Pool.
For Moderators: At least two (2) mods must agree on the validity of offence prior to the issuance of a warning. Verbal warnings will be issued via PM from each of the mods in question in order to verify to the offender the validity of the warning. Addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool.
Second (2nd) Offence – The second time a member breaks the rules, a mod will issue a verbal warning, a citation of the rules violated, and one (1) additional warning to the Warning Pool.
For Moderators: At least three (3) mods must agree on the validity of offence prior to the issuance of a warning. Verbal warnings will be issued via PM from each of the mods in question in order to verify to the offender the validity of the warning, along with a reminder of Third (3rd) Offence penalty. Addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool.
Third (3rd) Offence – On the third offence the member will be temporarily banned for up to one (1) week or one hundred sixty-eight (168) hours, depending on the mod's discretion. This decision on the temporary ban's length must be checked and supported by at least one (1) other mod to ensure "fairness".
This will also include a citation of the violated rule or rules, and the addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool.
For Moderators: The majority of the Team must agree on the validity of offence prior to the issuance of a warning. Verbal warnings will be issued via PM from each of the majority mods in order to verify to the offender the validity of the warning. Addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool. Suspension of Moderation capabilities for up to one (1) week or one hundred sixty-eight (168) depending on the decision of the majority.
Fourth (4th) Offence – This will merit a temporary ban of between one (1) and two (2) weeks, or between one hundred sixty-eight (168) and three hundred thirty-six (336) hours. The decision on the ban's length must be checked and supported by at least one (1) other mod to ensure "fairness".
Once again it will also include a citation of rules violated, the addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool, and a reminder that the offender will have a fifth (5th) Offence if s/he does not behave for the duration of the cool down period, that is to say, one (1) month.
For Moderators: The majority of the Team must agree on the validity of offence prior to the issuance of a warning. Verbal warnings will be issued via PM from each of the majority mods in order to verify to the offender the validity of the warning. Addition of one (1) warning to the Warning Pool. Total revocation of Moderation capabilities. Offender is permanently barred from reapplying for a position.
Fifth (5th) Offence – This will merit Permanent IP Ban. This decision must be checked and supported by at least two (2) other mods to ensure "fairness".
For Moderators: Same as for regular members.
1.2. On Reconsiderations of Banned Members
There will be NO reconsiderations. The new system is generous enough itself, and will work to keep a person in line. If you break it, once again there are no reconsiderations.
If it is obvious that a person is just taking advantage of the system and its technicalities, s/he will be taken to trial by the Team, which will discuss and vote on whether or not to expel him/her.
The final decision will be treated as having the weight of a Fifth (5th) Offence penalty.
1.3. On Multiple Parties With Unclear Offenders
Escalating "discussions" may be exterminated by temporarily banning all parties involved from the CBox(es) for up to forty-eight (48) hours, depending on the mod's discretion. PMs will be deployed separately to each party to begin an investigation.
Once the investigation has been completed, warnings are to be distributed accordingly.
1.4. On Determining the Necessity for Warnings
Considerations will be made in the case of "accidental" incidents. The system is designed to root out bad weeds. It is thus necessary to ensure the safety of respectable members.
Nevertheless, any such considerations should be double-checked by at least two (2) other mods, to ensure that no favouritism is being dispensed. If it is considered by the parties concerned to be an actual "accident", a simple reminder of forum policies will suffice.
1.5. The Rules exist to protect the Board and its members not troublesome Individuals
Warnings do not run out when a member is simply not showing up on the board. A Warning Period is meant to show a member that they have a need to change something about their behavior. Simply waiting for it to run out, judging from the normal time period and then repeating the same mistakes is not an Option.

Supplementary Absence Rules 1.0
At times, it may be that an RPer cannot post in threads that they are participating in. Sometimes, that RPer can be quietly dropped out of the thread with no fuss (See our Drop Rule for more details on this). Quite often, however, this is not the case. This is hardly fair for the other people in your threads. We will NOT stand by while threads are held up by weeks or months because of one person.
In such cases, if an RPer cannot post in a thread for one (1) week (7 days / 192 hours), then the other RPers sharing his or her thread may bring this to a mod's attention. If this happens, then the RPer in question will be given three (3) extra days to write a post. If this deadline is missed, then he or she will receive another reminder, to write a post within the next thirty-six (36) hours or to assign another RPer to write the post by proxy. if the RPer is unable to do either, then the character will be temporarily reassigned to another willing player until the character's owner feels that he or she is able to retake the reins.
Members who wish to be assigned characters by proxy will have to contact the mod team.
The only exceptions to this will be people on extro, but only to an extent. If the length of your extro can be measured in months and not days, then it is only fair that you should pass your character off onto someone of your own choice, or at least finish off the threads that you are currently in. Cases involving extros will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Because of a massive swathe of inactivity we are rolling out new activity rules, a lot stricter than previously, but will require your help as members for proper use. The activity check is considered a blank slate, so this will only come into effect two weeks after this is posted.
It is the THREATENED system.
To become THREATENED:
1) The player does not respond to the activity check SPECIFICALLY LISTING YOUR CHARACTERS. If you do not list every character they may fall on THREATENED and that will be your own fault.
2) The specific character has been warned about posting speed in a thread (This warning period is 2 weeks without posting), and then failed to post again within 2 weeks, gathering a second warning for that same thread. (Of course this has discussions, if a player considers a thread ended, and it appears reasonable that their participation has ended the player will not be warned.) If this happens that character will become listed as THREATENED.
Players will not be warned for posting speed if they are on extro.
3) The player wishes to voluntarily list their character as THREATENED.
Characters listed as THREATENED will have three possible solutions to them, in order.
1) Someone with good activity (as judged by the mods) is willing to pick up the character in adoption. If the character is voluntarily listed as THREATENED they must agree with this. If no one does this, it moves it into the death case.
2) They die in their furthest (Datewise) active thread. This can be done by any reasonable participant. If they don’t wish to go into detail, the thread can be ended and the character considered dead. If someone offers to RP it in detail, they get preference in the thread, and the ability to fully control the THREATENED character.
3) If 1 is reasonably impossible (Such as it is a Master/Servant Thread) the character can be killed offhanded (By a sentence past the time of their last thread) by any previous plot partners/outstanding requests. Once again, if someone offers to RP it in detail, with its own thread they get priority, provided they are an active member.
4) If neither 1 nor 2 are chosen the character will be able to be freely killed. If no one does this, or perhaps they are too late or otherwise busy with other characters, a Mod will kill it off with one of their characters, or other mod tools. Once again the preference goes to the active person willing to RP it in detail, otherwise it will just be referred to offhand in a future thread.
A character in THREATENED state has 2 weeks to be claimed before a mod is the one chosen to kill them IC. How the mod wishes to do so is up to them, but preference will go to a mod if they wish to RP the death. Intentional mocking of a character from an OoC perspective or purposefully making them look particularly bad will be considered an offense worth a permanent warning. Mods have the right to deny RP requests if they believe the person will portray the character as such, but then that Mod will be responsible for the Character’s Death.
In the event that a character gains something from killing (Such as Sargon, or a Servant with the ability to steal Phantasms), the request to kill must detail that the character will gain from it.
Since this is two weeks away, a board for this rule change is currently under construction. Please contribute, as the mods cannot monitor all the posting orders on every possible thread themselves.
Post by Kotomine Kirei on May 21, 2014 21:16:09 GMT -5
The THREATENED system has been adapted to fit the needs of the forum. To this end, please review the revisions to the above rules. These rules come into effect after a period of ONE WEEK. Upon the posting of this, the THREATENED system resumes its functions. All date requirements on threads are therefore set to start from today – that is to say, I will perform the next Warning wave in approximately 2 weeks, and posts that are already overdue will not be penalized should they be posted in on time to make it to the check. The Adapted Rules are as follows, with changes in red. An email will go out shortly notifying members of the change.
- NEW: Every time someone is warned about their posting speed, an email as well as a PM will be generated along with the usual post in the Warnings thread.
- NEW: A clarification: Your Extro needs to be refreshed MONTHLY to remain effective. ‘Refresh’ means you either must make a post with your character, or at least another post in the Extro thread, stating your intent to return a bit later. Failure to do this will result in any character of the offending party being controlled (for a limited time) should they be in the way of progress of the thread. Should this happen again, a warning is issued, and standard rules apply.
- NEW: An additional rule: Should the thread where the post is owed be a death thread, in other words, if it is the very thread where a character death is about to take place/is taking place at the moment, the offending party will be given a bit more of a leeway due to the nature of the thread – 3 weeks per warning instead of 2 weeks per warning. - NEW: An additional rule: Should someone post a thread, and their partner, or anyone else who is supposed to be involved, fails to respond, the party which fails to respond cannot be warned for it so long as they have not replied to the thread even once.
- NEW: MOST IMPORTANT: From now on, the 2-warning = THREATENED rule is modified to trigger only should the warnings be issued to you in a row (without you posting between them). Should you post after the warning, then again not post for 2 weeks, you will receive a second warning which will NOT trigger THREATENED as it has not been presented in a row. The cap on these is THREE. Should you obtain THREE warnings for ONE thread, you will be listed as THREATENED. Alternatively, you could obtain 2 warnings in a row, which also gives you THREATENED status. The rest of rule 2 applies as normal.
- NEW: People who possess inactive partners or whom have partnerships where BOTH sides are equally inactive will be inquired into by Mods before any action is taken.
