This one had a tragic childhood. No man and no spear could protect him from the clutches of the evil demons lurking around. For these demons, called "women", had no "ill intent". Yet the damage they caused to this one's heart was unmeasurable. He was forced to become strong so he could defend himself. He wanted to become strong so that the demons would gain proper respect that a man deserves.

This one was never weak to begin with, and with his trusted partner, this Tonbo-Giri, they grew. They were feared. They were known. Yet, the demons' grasp has not weakened. This one was in the depth of despair. And he was fortunate enough to meet Tokugawa-sama at this point of his life. The man was... unlike any other. This one was quite confused as to what this feeling was. But now he knows. Fate guided him, showing him the reason, showing him what he was born to become. And this one served. To the best of his ability, and beyond that. Fortunately, that one time, the enemy was an honorable warrior in his own right, who could measure the worth of this one's loyalty, bravery and self-sacrifice.

Soon after he started serving, the demons faded away. They would always cling to his flesh no matter the words he spoke. But not anymore. As soon as this one mentioned Tokugawa-sama, they were seemingly pushed away. This one doesn't know what divine force protected him but he was grateful. And never regretted his choice. He followed Tokugawa-sama to his death and beyond, and even now he wishes to serve.

Having never sustained wounds in his lifetime, Honda is very hard to injure. Agility and Luck are improved by a rank as long as Honda is "in battle". The bonus doesn't apply against attacks that he cannot (or failed to) anticipate, meaning he's slightly more vulnerable against sneak attacks and long range shots.

According to Tonbo-giri's legend, a dragonfly that landed on its blade got sliced in half. Despite the fact that only its feet touched the cutting edge, the spear managed to cut its body, too.

Honda charges up his spear and strikes at a distant opponent. A sharp gust of wind released from the spear's blade will strike his foe as surely as the blade itself would. The attack can be repeated two more times without charging up anew if Honda holds back on the first one. In this case, all three attacks are degraded to rank D.

This NP can be used 4 times at rank C, or twice as a consecutive barrage of three NP attacks of rank D.

Anyhow, first of all, The Immortal NP looks like a active one when you mention that it have effects when Honda get into a battle, if so, it need activation and duration time to be added to it, if done passively, it need a trigger for that rather than just 'raise his stats in battle'.

Second, about Tonbo-Giri - The Blade That Cuts Gods' Flesh, surely we can imagine what happens to someone caught up into a spatial distortion but we can't expect everyone to know exactly what happens to those caught in it, I myself don't know and would like to read what happens if someone get caught in that attack, there is no need for a detailed scientific explanation but it's not acceptable to leave it as it is now.

Third is about Tonbo-Giri - The Spear That Pierces Heaven and Earth, mainly about it's range and re-use, canon stats on range are nice but they are more aesthetics rather than useful info so please a max range in meters as well. Also how fast can Honda use this NP again.

And on a side note, all active NPs names must be called when making use of them.

1) This one is a strong warrior that cannot fall to a feeble strike. That cannot be changed. However, even the greatest of heroes can lose to a trecherous blade. Indeed, this one's instincts are good but accidents may happen, that is why this one is more vulnurable if he cannot anticipate the attack.
The main effect of the NP is passive. However, the stat bonus only applies when Honda is "in battle". He cannot fight something he doesn't know about. In other words, his Endurance is C and Luck is B for the purpose of countering successful sneak attacks and extreme range shots (even Saber didn't notice Archer's attack in UBW), or, in summary, attacks that he cannot anticipate. For all other purposes, his Endurance is B and Luck is A.

2) Added details. Sorry about that. I took Caladbolg's firing sequence (UBW, Archer vs. Caster) as a basis, but reduced the AoE and range because that was a Broken Phantasm. Caster was reduced to half of her body with a grazing hit, but she has low Endurance and Strength, so I tried to take that into account.

3) Added details on range. The activation is quite similar to Gae Bolg's, meaning there's a slight delay before the strike can be carried out.
I intended for him to be able to use this attack consecutively, or, more appropriately, as soon as the spearhead returns to its place. If that's too much, I can add a cooldown but is it really necessary?

On a side note, Saber released Excalibur's sheath without exclaiming the name, and Caster used Rule Breaker without calling its name. No way is Rule Breaker a passive NP.

3) What you proposed is ok, just add the line that the spearhead have to return first to then be used a second time and you will be good to go.

All NPs need name calling, it's just convenience that they didn't shouted it every time because it would be kind of annoying, but is exactly because of this that a NP is mostly used when you are sure to kill your enemy, since otherwise you will reveal your identity to them.

Having never sustained wounds in his lifetime, Honda cannot suffer a "serious injury". The blow has to kill him instantly or it won't hinder him the slightest. Reduces all damage to the level of a shallow scratch unless the wound is fatal. Also improves his Endurance and Luck by a rank, but the bonus doesn't apply against attacks that he cannot (or failed to) anticipate, meaning he's slightly more vulnerable against sneak attacks and long range shots.

This doesn't work on NP attacks of rank above B (these will most likely prove fatal anyway but whatever). // <- This can be omitted as there's obviously no way for a B-rank NP to block divine mysteries of a higher level.

Never having sustained a wound is not really a reason to be invulnerable. ..... Considering the High Rank of defense, it would completely deny any damage given by normal attacks and only hurt him with NP attacks of A rank, which is in some sense better than God Hand. Either you just wrote it more powerful than intended or it needs some severe nerfing. I am fine with it giving the stat boni (because it is an NP) though and like the idea that it is less useful when surprised, although logically it has no connection with an enduring body.

Battle Continuation is to go on no matter how horrible wounded the character is and not that attacks deal no damage. That is also the reason for a balance between Battle Cont. and End (Defense).

Tonbo-Giri: One method (def or attack). You need to choose. NPs with different functions are an NP in itself. You also need to decide on one Rank and consider how strong and powerful one of the most powerful shields was "Rho" to Rank it accordingly. I am fine with adding some things to a servant, but Honda was certainly not a Greek Ultra Hero. The current Tonbo-Giri is a combination of at least 3 different Noble Phantasms. Also needs a definition of "few seconds". There were already similar attacks used by other servants with better limiters. The C Rank is well thought out and useful, the A Ranks are a copy of Gilgamesh' Ea suddenly altering into a greater effect despite keeping a lower Rank. While the C Rank is fine the others don't really seem to work in my eyes and you combined to much into one. (I know that I said that more than once.)

The next NP.... another Gae Bolg? And not that, it's development seems totally random. He was a general who already made use of guns, why by Nasu can he teleport spear tips around and into people's bodies!? Fully denied.

....Too many NPs in total. Fit the NPs to the legends.

0.1) I was aiming for a female descendant. Namely, Asuka. Honda would have terrible interesting dynamics with her. But her player disappeared. As there are no other Japanese Masters available, I'll probably have to change his goals and that part a bit (to something like "will be summoned without a catalyst if the summoner is a descendent of Tokugawa Ieyasu").

1) Some legends associated with Honda state that he "cannot be injured". These legends came to existence because he had never been wounded in his whole life. So in this case, "never having sustained a wound" is "a reason to be invulnerable". Also, it doesn't cancel out attacks based on rank. That's Herc's forte. If someone stabs him in the eye with even an E rank attack he'll die. If his heart is pierced he'll die. If he's decapitated he'll die. Any attack that kills him instantly will kill him. If you're unsatisfied with the rank, I can reduce it to C+ or something.
The part about higher rank NPs means that NPs of higher rank will wound him, even if he doesn't die as a result.
The part about Battle Continuation is basic comparison of their effect. What's a rank above being able to pretty much ignore wounds? Answer: "Wounds? What wounds?" The reason is different but the end effect is comparable. I can remove that sentence if it seems misleading, though.

2) On Tonbo Giri. The function is the same: creating a distortion. It's just that said distortion has both defensive and offensive characteristics which I divided into two seperate paragraphs. I tried to justify unifying the C-rank and A-rank as being the same effect, only activated with different amount of prana but if that doesn't work, I'm fine with dropping one of them. It depends on the third NP slot.

Now, I want to ask a question: HOW does this even resemble Ea?
I'm sorry if I didn't state this clearly enough: the NP doesn't "shoot" a beam that distorts everything in its wake. Range 1-2 is the same as Gae Bolg's; I thought that was a clear enough indicator but whatever... The distortion only spreads along the trail of the spear's blade. And I should probably add this to the description, too: the shield is created by swirling Tonbo-Giri in front of him in a loose spiral and the "all-around" shield is created by swirling Tonbo-Giri around himself in a descending spiral; the "attack" is a simple and straighforward slash.

3) I admit that this was completely random. I got the idea after reading something about Ryougi Shiki "killing" the distance between herself and Araya. Honda "cuts" the distance.

With Aela's help, I stumbled upon a different idea. It was after Touko's approval so I chose not to change anything.
Tonbo-Giri's legend states that a dragonfly that landed on its blade got sliced in two. If you think about it, the dragonfly's body wouldn't have touched the cutting edge. At most, its legs would be cut. So to slice it completely in half, the spear should have had cut beyong the blade's edge. That's the effect I thought of. If you've watched Shana, Blutsauger had pretty much the same ability. I hadn't thought about limits, though, so I want to consult you about this before I make any changes.

0.1.) I see. You might wish to put another request up and ask to add a little detail. Having some mild ties to the family of Tokugawa should be within the possible.

1.) I am quite familiar with Japanese Heroes, Myths and People and also Honda. He was never wounded significantly. Meaning that he certainly also escaped death despite the circumstances, but that can be due to skill, agility, great tactical leadership, or other skills and does not mean that he has a tough skin.

"Never having sustained a wound" is NOT a reason to be invulnerable.

The current sentence is very misleading as it on one hand explains NP attacks and that they would be ineffective below the Rank, meaning that he could take a B Class NP attack right now and also if I were to remove that phrase, and make it really an NP that only blocks attacks below B.

How do you intend to explain to me that his Rank is equal to Achilles?

2.) Originally a very sharp sword, quite close to the legends of swords like Muramasas. So I certainly think that a cutting wind attack is more than justified. Examples like Vergil's sword in DMC3/4, Wind Swords of Onimusha. They would both fit wonderfully (Especially Onimusha is really burning itself into my mind.) But a Vortex attack that rips the dimensions apart? It does not have a real magic or demonic alignment, nor could I accept a C to ever have such a function. You also compared it directly with Saber's C Rank NP, which works totally different from your first sentence explanation. The first and second part of the NP description don't match up. And like I previously mentioned, an NP means one Rank and one method. You can't decide that I want to put less prana into it and have another np...

Ea creates a strong wind to attack and also cuts off people from the surroundings, but considering that your description is once a wind and in another case suddenly a vortex that reads as if you would surround yourself with mini black holes, it is indeed difficult to make a comparison to anything.

3.) I feel like curb stomping Touko, if that gives a hint.

1) Changed the Immortal to just a stat bonus. Also, switched from a rank up in Endurence to a rank up in Agility.
2) Limited the second NP to rank C.
3) Changed the third NP as advised and lowered Mana to D to balance the number of uses.

And I'll still have to tweak the condition for his summoning.

Or a faster succession of weaker attacks thus creating a total of D.

I would have an option for you concerning your Tokugawa master.

I have planned to make an 'Other', but the history could contain circuits and some ties to Tokugawa. The character would just not feel ready and drop the right, the Church placing the seals on another master, which will become your characters partner.

This would allow some alternatives. If you like the idea, just pm me, I have no other ideas right now.

As a couple of mods were present during the discussion of the NPs, I won't ask Touko for a reapproval despite major changes.
