(Pretty much, yes, Percy and Jane skedaddles out of here, so it’s pretty much just us three now. Well…4, but Vicky went back to gaming or something.)
Erin looked up from examining the injury to face the man he’s treating, currently feeling quite confused about the whole situation he’s facing right now. With the amount of knowledge he possessed, it’s safe to say that he’s at least more informed than Archer’s ‘master’. Though it seems he doesn’t have any knowledge about the Grail War, which is just as she suspected earlier. It seems his understanding of the occult is somewhat lacking as well, but no matter, maybe it’s just that particular subject. Erin did perk up at the mention of monsters from the party boy, though she deduced that it might originate from the Caster in this war.
His servant, however, does a good job of explaining the situation they’re in, if a bit long winded. He even managed to pinpoint her role in the conflict at this current time. Well, with him explaining the true nature of the Grail saves her the time to explain the whole thing, its better if the master knows as much as possible of the true nature of the Holy Grail war after all, as to avoid unwanted accidents caused by lack of concerns about the secrecy of the war. After a straight minute of non-stop talking, the Lancer, or at least Erin think he’s a Lancer based on the halberd he carries around, stops the information dump. Well, presumably to allow Erin to speak to his master about the politics of the current Mage’s Association in this city and whatnot, she hoped that the party boy would keep this in mind and remember it. It’s for his own good after all.
“Right.” She glanced a bit towards the warrior clad in the ornate armor before continuing, “Lancer here,” she gestured towards the warrior, “had explained to you about the general picture of the war, but this current war is a bit more complicated. There are some things that can be explained right away though. One, defeated masters are not always killed; you only need to defeat their servants in order for them to be taken out of the game. They can still do whatever they want, including attacking you, so please keep this fact in mind. Two, the destruction of all the servants except one is necessary in order to start the miracle of the Holy Grail, it’s what the other masters realized too. I’m sure your servant will gladly inform you of this fact, if he didn’t already do so.”
Erin stops for a moment, realizing that this following is the most important bit of information that she needs to deliver, before continuing. “Three, as you can see, we’re quite close to the Vatican, and while the Church has supervised the Grail War since its inception, they decided to bring quite a force this time around. The Mage’s Association decided to send our own supervisor this time too, and that supervisor is yours truly.” Erin stops again for a moment in order to takes a sip on a coffee, but realized it’s empty and decided to just go with the explanation before making a new one. “The Church’s supervisors, meanwhile, resides on the St. Elena Cathedral, and you can go there or here in order to receive a protection after your servant’s been defeated. Though we don’t exactly get along well with each other, The Association and The Church both wanted to minimize the civilian casualty in this war. We do care about the blood spilled in this war, especially innocent ones, so we have taken the necessary precautions. I’m not sure about what you mean by monsters, though keep in mind that not all masters’ goals are as noble as yours, and some servants are capable of bringing ‘monsters’ into this war.”
After the long explanation, she can practically sense the uneasiness in the room. Though she can’t see them, she suspected Archer and her would-be master have left the premises, not a bad decision by any means if somewhat hasty. Erin wanted to keep an eye on the pair more, but it seems that have to wait. More importantly, the expression on the face of the young man in front of him changed, perhaps his servant informing him of the other pair. She decided to let him go, it’s not her job to interfere on the affairs of masters.
Except perhaps one of them.
“You’re free to go now, as long as you know what you’re getting into. You can always return here if you need anything else.” She briefly ponders about making a cup of coffee herself.
