Please be made aware of the following:

• The Main Site now connects to "BChat". What is BChat? It stands for Backup Chatroom, and yes, this was once its original purpose, a place to take discussions whenever the CBox gets wonky (and it's been doing that a lot recently, as you all know).
  
  However, due to the growing size of the member base, and thus the increasing number of random discussions on the CBox, making straight up discussion almost impossible, I found a new purpose for BChat.
  
  Starting today, BChat will serve as the main discussion room for any character creation issues. If you have any questions regarding a character you plan to make, move to BChat, and enter the Character Creation Room. Make sure to tell us on the CBox first, of course. If there are any mods online, they will be with you shortly.
  
  BChat's software requires registration, so choose your name carefully. Also, I increased the username length limit to 30 characters. Sorry for the hassle, didn't have time to fiddle with the controls until now.

• As you may know already, we recently had some scrapes with a certain former member, whose profile was, as an understatement, problematic. While the situation was resolved, it was an unfortunate case. As such, our very own Rin has made some additional guidelines to avoid the most common pitfalls of profile making.

  It has since been adapted for FAQ format and released as part of our new Technical FAQ, here, and is a MUST READ before you start work on your profiles.
  

An addendum will be posted within 24 hours concerning a third announcement I intended to make, but will wait until later.

Okay, since we were lucky enough to have the whole staff on-line at the same time, we were able to discuss the contents of the addendum (relatively) quickly and come to a conclusion. So! Here are the additional things we have discussed:

• We are now implementing what we call the "Drop Policy". As per the effort to keep threads running and prevent die-down, this Policy will cover how to deal with inactivity. It has been updated in the Posting Rules, but we will also explain them here:
  
  1) If the person whose turn it is to post in an RP Thread does not do so within three (3) days, s/he must provide an alibi for this. Else, if s/he does not provide an alibi within a week (7 days) of having his/her turn, s/he may be skipped for that posting cycle by the other participants.
  
  2) If point 1 occurs within two consecutive cycles (14 days), that participant may be dropped from the RP Thread in question. HOWEVER! S/he is free to rejoin the thread once it becomes possible again. This is a free RP, it's not like we're banning people for inactivity.
  
  3) This is just a reminder of our Extro Policy: If you will be away for more than 48 hours, it is a MUST to post in the Extro thread. No excuses (unless your PC exploded or your house burned down).
  
  No need for fancy farewell letters. Just input what the form is asking for: Estimated length of absence, concise reason for this absence, and the characters who will be affected. That's it. You can do that in less than five minutes.
  
  It would be really nice if you could inform us of any absences, after all. We won't bite you for going away so long as you say that you are.
  
  
• Along with that, in response to an earlier complaint, we will be implementing a little feature in our Profiles to make it a bit easier. We've observed that some people have difficulty working with the personality section as it is divided up into four traits. So...
  
  1.) People who have problems to split the personality into trait bullet points may write shorter personalities.
  
  2.) The minimum amount of words for this should be 175 words.
  
  3.) If you are interested in writing more complex personality sections, please use traits.
  
  4.) A suitable amount of words to note an increase of personality complexity would be 350 Words or more.

Dear Members,

Due to recent behind the scenes activities and hearsay, there have been some misconceptions regarding the status of a mini project known as Lucca Secundus, or more colloquially, Lucca 2. Lucca 2 is in no way operational yet, and will not be operational for a while, if it is indeed implemented.

Lucca 1 is in no danger of closing off Slots at the moment. If you have doubts about the status of a certain class, do not forget that Servants marked as Red are inactive, and thus, do not consume a slot.

The administration will announce whether Lucca 2 will pull through or not. But for the moment, please resume your usual activities and assume that it does not exist. *wiggles fingers as if trying to be spooky*

All members, please be advised that Character Creation is now suspended for anybody who has at least one Master and one Servant, WIP or otherwise.

This suspension will last until we've managed to cut all of these profiles down to a reasonable level.

Let me make this clear now. If you have one Master and one Servant, in the works, or already approved, DO NOT MAKE ANY MORE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

This is starting to get ridiculous, and I already told you all earlier that Lucca 2 won't be happening any time soon.

Nevertheless, in order to segregate what is to be prioritised and what is not to be prioritised in the approval queue, I will issue this now:

All members with Lucca 2 characters are to create accounts in Lucca 2 for those characters IMMEDIATELY and copy-paste their profiles in the appropriate forum.

The Servant Cap is 7 for each class. This is a First Come First Serve basis. If your Servant is not ready for approval, and there are already seven in one class, then your Servant MUST be ported to Lucca 2. No questions asked.

DO NOT CHECK THE CHARACTER LIST. IT IS OUTDATED. Instead, request a manual count from an administrator.

Due to a recent escalation of incidents in the Random Box, we have undertaken a new measure. It's in experimental stages, but we will see what happens. As you can see, there are now three boxes. In order to avoid the misconceptions that it has been causing all this time, the Random Box has been renamed the OOC Box. If you want to RP, go to the RP Box.

Nobody should be IC in the OOC Box.

It's been 9 days since I announced the Activity Check. And now, after much effort, the Character List has been updated to the latest extent made known by the Update the Character List Thread. That means if you posted in the UTCL Thread, you're likely on the list. It is by no means complete, and will be adjusted depending on the discussion.

If your name is not yet on the Character List, don't worry. I have a full list of how many slots are still available. Unfortunately, in my counting, I have indeed verified that there is a possibility that some profiles must be transferred to Lucca Secundus. So, without any further adieu, the statistics:

Dear Members,

Here are a few updates that I would like you to make note of.

1) We are now raising the number of new mods to 4, instead of just 2, because there's a looooot of work to be done.

2) Once the mod tests are done and the new mods inaugurated, approval requirements will increase by 1, for a total of 3 approvals per regular member, and 2 per staffer. Those who are already undergoing approval at that time are exempt from this.

3) Launching of Lucca Secundus has been postponed pending the completion of the mod tests and the selection of the new mods. However, it is ready for Beta Testing. We just need enough staffers right now in order to deal with the... significant number of profiles that are already under construction there. It'd be like opening floodgates, so to speak.

4) I've just launched Holy Grail Wiki. Yes, it's our own wiki, where we keep data about stuff like our characters, etc. That's what a wiki is for, right? An easy to use database? Anyway, it doesn't have a logo yet, and I'll have to get in touch with Selene for that, which will probably take a while. But rest assured, it is a fully functional battlestation wiki. I would encourage you, dear members, to try and at least learn the basics of putting an article together and then put your characters and other important data over there. If you have any questions, please ask the wiki chief supervisor, Firelotus (aka Tyonis), via PM.

Oh, and, you can find the link to the wiki either on the Site Navbar near the top of the sidebar, or by visiting the main page.

5) Our very own Rin has updated the Character List so that it now shows the most recent status of everything as of yesterday. So, it should give us an accurate reflection of how many slots are and aren't available.

Oh, and lastly, as stated earlier, all future profiles will now require 3 approvals for completion. Those who started undergoing approval before the end of the test may need only 2, but only if both are given by first batch mods.

Rules on Posting and Holding WiPs:

When you post a WiP, it is initially Green. This means that you have 2 weeks to finish it up. If these 2 weeks are over, you get a grace period of 1 week if you can show considerable progress and promise to work on it harder.

After that 3rd week, your character gets moved to Red. His slot will technically be there. The problem is that anyone can take it. So if you're working on Archer Arjuna as the 7th Archer on W2, and then you get moved to the red, someone can go ahead and post their completed Archer profile and get evaluated first. At that point, you'll have to hold onto Arjuna or scrap him due to a lack of spaces.

This rule is also explained in the Character list.

1) Starting from now, the OOC Box will be a well-maintained, pretty and clean place and as a place where discussions are none too offensive. This means it has to be WHOLESOME, NOT OFFENSIVE and OVERALL SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE. Any and all instances of UNWHOLESOME, UNCOMFORTABLE SUBJECTS and SUBJECTS NOT SUITED FOR EVERYONE will be deleted, and you will be sent one warning. THIS WARNING APPLIES WHETHER YOU’RE A MOD OR NOT.

1.1) If you want to be as RUDE and RANDOM and OFFENSIVE as possible, we have a place for you and it’s the Zalgo box. It’s not a good place, but you reap what you sow.

1.2) If you see a purple name on the Cbox, respect it. If you do not do so and decided to be random or even insulting, you will be susceptible to bans. There will be no exceptions. We don't care if you're genuinely interested in RPing here or not. TROLLS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

2) Evaluation requirement has been lowered to the original Two Strike Policy. The next generation of Staff has proven itself wholly worthy of dealing with things on their own.

2.1) Characters that have already been approved, under this new policy, will be susceptible to post-approval evaluation by a third mod, if they see anything wrong. If you are not approached by a third mod, then you're off the hook. This is to maintain the spirit of the former Three-Strike Policy without slowing down the approval process.

3) I will be retiring from evaluation entirely. I have discovered, over the months since we started, that I am no good at evaluating profiles, and am better off being a Bureaucrat, who calls meetings and asks for votes on forum policies. If you want someone to evaluate your profile, please go ask another mod.

4) We have realized that our approaches are a bit too lax and forgiving in the past few months. It seems that the warnings of our mods have been dismissed as jests and generally ignored. We have decided to rectify that approach, and things will be dealt much more swift and strict from now on.

All Rules were already written up in the Rules Sections or the Character Pointers, but some things were apparently still not stated clear enough, and thus making some points a matter to be defined better.

It might be quite likely that theThread will answer some questions and stop troubling approval dramas to occur.

The final part about Magi and elements is not a Rule but a request, to make it easier on us, by the way.

And to also take the opportunity here, albeit most probably not understanding the reason. We are again, or have already hit another problem with our slots. I might hereby request from everyone who has a profile on WIP or just reserved a slot to look inside you and ascertain for yourself if you really can handle another character and really can find the time to actually write yet another profile.

We have some profiles that lie around for months and have not really been touched so far. It is a bit unfair to those who have nothing yet and would need that slot. If you have reached a conclusion to this inner dilemma and decided for yourself that it is better to drop the character, please inform the staff.

As it has been pointed out multiple times the character list aka teams and reservations is extremely outdated and a hassle in various ways.

The culprit.

To clarify this the thread is being updated. While normally this is not enough to warrant an update announcement, the thing is this is really old. With a massive influx of new additions to be made. We won't catch all of them and your characters might not be added due to simply missing it. For those already there your face link might be broken or the char simply does not exist anymore.

"So what do you want us to do about it?"

Simple. Post your missing fc/character/status/what have you here in the thread. Update the Character List! To make this simple on everyone. We hope to have this completely up to date by Sunday.

The laws of reality have been altered, and the grail has awarded more command seals to (un)fortunate guests!

What this means for you: Primus is now expanding slots to match Secundus. What this means is that two of each Servant slot and fourteen total Master slots to accompany them, bringing it to 9 total of each class, and 63 Masters. However these slots have specific limits on them! If you have more than three slots taken already, you cannot take one of these slots, unless requested by a potential partner and allowed to do that by a mod.

What this means for the Grail: OM NOM NOM NOM!
