PERSONALITY: // "She just can't accept anyone telling her what to do. A nightmare for her instructors"
o Lacks a Killing Hand
+ When she was six she murdered her twelve year old brother while he slept because he was getting the attention of her parent, grooming him for magecraft. Her mind then was unformed and unknowing, so she did not truly know what she was doing. Because of this she is prone to bouts of remorse and contains an inability to finish an opponent off.
o Analyzer
+ Can see situations for traps, and problems with any plan easily. This leads her to analyze people however, making her describable as “nitpicky”
o Tauntable
+ Even good natured ribbing invokes her cold wrath. She makes terrible decisions in this state and is particularly impulsive like this. Probably the only way she could be drawn into a trap.
o Defiant
+ Hates people restricting her in any way. This gets to the point where if someone tells her something is a bad idea and actively tries to prevent her from doing it she will try even harder to do it. To convince her a restriction of a good one she has to be led to believe she placed it on herself.
o Prana Frugal
+ She carries around numerous pieces of equipment to prevent her from having to waste prana to do things such as pull water out of the air, or create the salts she uses with her tiny skill in earth.

MY FAMILY LINE: //The Corrain Family was 220 years old, extending back 5 generations (Aela as the sixth). Their blood carried a bloodline effect (Hardwired) of ridiculous number of magic circuits, but only barely above average prana per circuit at an average of 50 circuits per magi, but averaging 3.6 prana per circuit. Aela herself has 49 circuits for 3.6 prana each, capping her at 175.. Her brother had 53 circuits at 4.3 each.
Attempts to intermarry with this line to produce heirs with massive amounts of circuits and prana has proven ineffective as any child not of the main line itself only has average circuit numbers, and will not inherit this bloodline code, as if it were a recessive genetic gene. The Corrain family and its genetic trait is now for all purposes dead. They specialized in water, a trait Aela carries, but her brother had specialties in wind, air, and water.
Hardwired is a double edged trait as each magic circuit generates far more heat than normal, as well as increasing the numbness effect on the body. In fact Aela activating all her magic circuits is almost completely numb and is barely able to stand. The increase of body temperature from the additional circuits also killed the second generation successor, luckily after he had just passed on the crest. After this the family started carrying around large quantities of water that they could easily manipulate to a frost coating their body to prevent them from killing themselves from raising their body temperature too high. Aela’s own father remarked that they were rather like computers. Of course Aela had no idea what a computer was till she was almost 19.
Her second family, whom she was promised to by a mage contract, received her at the age of seven. However the Corrain family would not let her go, as without her they had no heir so the Atheling family invoked the mage's contract, stripping what magecraft the family had left, dooming it with Aela’s father.
The Atheling Family was a failing bloodline of 512 years, 11 generations, and the current heir was barren so they needed outside blood. The only one to take them up on their response was The Corrain, who agreed for access to all the old knowledge and the ability to study their thaumaturgical crest. It was a great sacrifice but what choice did the family have? Others demanded the crest outright, and the heirs blended with their families, while the older ones wouldn’t even look at them. Their bloodline was Guiding Hand, which allowed users with the crest from the house to use the circuits of others of his own blood if they touched. It is now defunct.
The Thaumaturgical crest focuses on the strength of the Atheling family, in earth. A decent amount of it is efficient and practical reinforcement, while not the best strengthening magecraft it is one of the least prana intensive. The rest of it is dedicated to earth magecraft specifically, which is unusable by their current heir.
MY HISTORY: //Aela Atheling was first born to the Corrain Family and was promised by a mage's contract to the failing bloodline of the Normandy Atheling Family, the current heir being a barren women then in her mid thirties. She was never given even a second look as a child and basically grew up under the servants in the house, who ignored her for her brother. Angered at the age of six with this, and placing the blame on her brother in her unformed mind she slit his throat with a kitchen knife in the middle of the night. Her parents lamented not the fact of his death, but the loss of an heir. So they decided to go back on the contract with the Atheling family, which destroyed their magecraft because the Athelings invoked the mage's contract. They then claimed Aela, seven at the time.
Aela received the thaumaturgy at ten, after being inducted to the house, its rules and its differences from her old family. The Corrains had not exactly shunned technology but were more a decade behind, but the Atheling’s newest technology was a phone. From them she inherited a slight dislike of technology, not as much as the rest of the mages in the family but decent enough that she shudders at the thought of owning a computer.
She has an incapability to wield so much as a butterknife without managing to draw her own blood unless she seriously concentrates. She became the butt of many jokes when she sat in a dining hall in the Clock Tower staring with concentration, almost sweating, as she buttered a slice of bread.
At sixteen she began studying in the clock tower, often criticizing younger families, despite the fact that her actual blood only stretched back 200 years. She made it to grade five, but barely, and that will probably be her limit. She knows and doesn't particularly care, but people that do bother her about it.
Aela received the nickname Frosty while in the Clock Tower and absolutely hates it. In fact she was disciplined for unprovoked assault twice because of it. Her name kept it from getting worse.
She couldn't take criticism in her stay at clock tower, making a few of her professors refuse to teach her until she learned to barely take it, but it still makes her blood boil to be criticized.
She never cooked until she was nineteen, when she criticized a servant on the taste of her food, so the servant quit right there and told her to finish the rest of the food. Aela promptly set fire to the house. Water was always close to her so thankfully it was easily doused after a minute of shock.
She had completely forgotten about never being an Atheling until, at age 20, the house was formally passed to her and she read about what had happened in her own past. She had blocked out all memories of her past below the age of six and was horrified at her actions. But there was nothing she could do. Her old family had died soon after she left, losing the will to live apparently and she visited their graves.
She gathered all she could of the history of her old house, as well as taking any curious relics or books she could find in the abandoned manor house. One of the things she took was an ancient seven link flail, older than her true family lineage. It seamed to resonate with prana, and in the pouring over of the books she had aquired she found that her family had. more or less, stolen the ancient mace from a museum, when they had found records that indicated it had been a magus's last resort weapon, and then had been kept as an heirloom in that magus family, until they perished and, by some chance, it ended up in a museum.
She began carefully crafting it into her Mystic Code, drawing on the resources available from her new family. It soon mirrored her but sadly, was not entirely reliable of a weapon. If she let her prana touch it, the mace would lose form, and become as water, allowing one to pass through objects raised to parry or deflect it, and upon removing the touch of prana, it becomes a normal mace again.
What Aela did not realize while creating it was her own failure of abilty to swing the actual mace around. For her to swing it, it had to be in water form, meaning she would not be able to block oponents weapon's with it either. To actually strike with it she has to swing it above the opponent, then revert it, and aid gravity in pushing the ball down. Needless to say this is not particularly damaging, but it is a decent weapon to surprise an opponent with.
She began to study a way to revive souls, and her research eventually brought her to learn of Heaven's Feel at twenty one, and by careful spying and observance learned about where it would take place, as well as how the system worked. Surely with the power of Akasha she could fix her own past.
MY GOALS: //To undo her own killing of her brother, so her old family would survive. Despite not remembering them she feels extreme guilt about their deaths.
EQUIPMENT: // Books, stories, poems. Very much enjoys literature. The most recent piece of technology she found fascinating after leaving the clock tower: A fist sized electrical device that pulled water out from the air at rapid rates. She carries an absurd amount of batteries to power the thing, not quite understanding how they work and thinking more is better. In addition a large collection of water soluble salts as well as her mystic code.
On the battlefield she brings the water generator, a large cask of water, a small flask of water, and a bunch of small flasks filled with the soluble salts. She also carries ear warmers that look strangely like headphones to avoid notice because, for some reason, the heat from her circuits being on does not go to her ears. She only carries her mystic code if there is a large chance she will be fighting that day, as it is particularly difficult to carry for her as strapping it to her side like she does the flasks makes her weighed down as well as unbalanced.
RANK: // Just barely 5th.
ELEMENT: // Water, Strengthening
EXPERTISE: //
Numbing Of Pain:
Because of the numbness created when circuits are full of prana is over amplified because of the number of circuits Aela has, Aela barely feels the most severe pain while her circuits have prana in them. This only lasts until she stops letting prana flow through the circuits. It can be dangerous because, when releasing prana, all the pain will come at once, with the body not being used to any of it.
Sixth Sense:
As long as she can see the user she has near instantaneous reaction speed, allowing her to block even bullets if she has something capable of blocking them. Because her body’s speed and strength lags behind this, however, the most she can do without a shield is move enough distance to make them strike a non-fatal area.
Battlefield Control:
Aela can easily see any advantage a battlefield will give her. She also is decent at preparing a battlefield so that it will benefit her, or make her opponent have a disadvantage.
MAGIC CIRCUITS: // 49 circuits for 3.6 prana each, capping her at 175.
SPELLS: // You may have up to five. These must be consistent with everything mentioned in the family section and/or history.
Salt Shield (Water, Fortification)
Rank(C)
Cost: 10(15)
Range: 1 Meter Diameter Shield
Effect: : Creates a circular I meter diameter shield out of a mixture of metallic salts and water, then freezing it and using fortification on the subsequent piece. This is more than just ice, it becomes harder even than steel and can be used to block low ranking magecraft, but would fall apart under repeated servant attacks. It is actually fairly light, suitable for someone whose physical strength is not exactly very high. She wields this as an actual shield. Easily repaired so Aela can reform the shield if a piece is left for less prana. However if it is repeatedly damaged it may wear out when the mixing density of the water makes it dangerously unreliable (7-8 breaks). As a measure of strength C rank can block high calibur bullets, D rank can only block sidearm level bullets (.22 calibur).
Cooling (Water)
Rank:E
Cost: 2
Range: Self or Touch
Effect: Covers the person in a morning frost. Used mainly to deal with the overheating caused by the massive amount of magic circuits Aela has. Carefully controlled to avoid doing damage.
Lady of the Lake (Water) (Water)
Rank
Cost: 7
Range: Touched Pool of Water, Magus must remain within 150 meters of the spell for it to remain active.
Effect: Basically it is a deceptively large puddle of water that, if stepped in by someone with prana flowing through their circuits, becomes like an icy hand that reaches up two feet and grasps the opponents leg, or other body part that touches the piece. Named for the fact that it looks like a slim hand of water reaches up to grab the opponent, before instantly freezing. A curiosity of this spell is that this water cannot be naturally frozen until the magus leaves the effective range, or it actually activates.
Breakable by an even rank E offensive spell it is meant to slow the opponent down. Be careful about targetting oneself with a spell when removing, as hurling a fireball at one's own leg is not always the best idea.
World's Mantle (Water)
Rank:A
Cost: 3 prana per 1 by 1 by 3 meter pillar
Range: Limited by Prana
Effect: Instantly freezes every particle of water in the range. While this does not do direct damage itself, it lowers the temperature in the area to close to -45 degrees Celsius. In this temperature all sources of water freeze and fire is difficult at best to start. Because of the overheating and numbing problems with Hardwired, Aela is only minorly uncomfortable in this weather.
Morning Plea (Water, Fortification)
Rank: A
Cost: 70 Prana
Range: Self
Effect: : Using a large source of water(the cask or drawing it from the air if need be) and all the remaining salt the Magus freezes herself in a solid block of ice that can stand even attacks from servants (Attacks, not noble phantasm usage). This densifies the ice and strengthens it repeatedly till it is almost impossible to strengthen more using conventional means. This would kill the user from extreme cold except that Hardwired allows the generation of large amounts of body heat as long as prana runs in the circuits. Aela can see, but all other sensory abilities are unavailable. This is a last ditch effort for help, as it wears out after twenty minutes. If strong enough one could actually move this block, but it weighs near 200kg. The ice is half a foot thick.
This will even stand up to equivalent rank magic, but fall to any noble phantasm itself. It also has a vunerability to Gae Bolg like effects as the hit is determined before the armour is factored in.
Stats:
A rank STR: Morning Plea is innefective
B rank STR: Morning Plea takes two and a half minutes to breach
C rank STR: Morning Plea takes five minutes to breach
D rank STR: Morning Plea takes ten minutes to breach
E rank STR: Morning Plea takes twenty minutes to breach
For MAG:
A rank MAG: Takes 2 to destroy the shielding, if they are offensive spells.
B rank MAG: Takes 8 to destroy the shielding, if they are offensive spells.
C rank MAG: Effectively impenetrable to C rank MAG.
In addition if a servant has B or Higher AGI the time to breach Morning Plea is decreased by half. Multiple Servants, or combinations of attacks will breach this spell faster.
