Two words for this noon: LUNCHTIME!!!!!!!!!
FUCK YEAH!
Finally! A time to get away from class for awhile … but lunch will be over around an hour, dammit. But oh well, who’s complaining, this is the time for Tomokazu and his roommates to enjoy his homemade bento.
As he carefully puts away his textbooks from last period in his locker and replaces them with the others for next period after lunch, he takes out his bento boxes he made for his friends, wrapped in a black-and-white furoshiki. Sure, the cafeteria foods are fine, but he felt like cooking. Thanks to his late adopted father Choushirou, he learned how to cook and make lunch on his own.
As he walks out to the courtyard, he went to the usual spot that he and his roommates hang out often, which was under one of the big trees at the farthest part of the courtyard. He likes that place because it helps him relax a bit, get away from other idiots of the school, and hopefully that no one with the exception of his 2 friends can notice his “kindness”.
“Aniki!”
As he sat down by the tree and laid his bento boxes on the grass, he turned to see who’s calling him and gave out a small smile.
“Yo.” he greeted his roommates, Asaban Yuugure, and his sister, Yoake, as the rushed to him, carrying bottled drinks.
“Hey! Here’s your green tea, Senpai.” Yoake sat down with her brother as she handed Tomokazu the bottle.
“Thanks, Yoake.” he puts the bottle by his fit and brought the wrapped bento boxes in front of him and unwraps it, then removes the top cap and unstuck the boxes.
“Wah! Sugoi!”
“A-Aniki, this is amazing!”
Onigiri. Fried Rice. Yakisoba. Sushi. Shrimp Tempura. Pork Cutlet. Tandori Chicken. Fried Eggs. Mochi. Spring Rolls. Veggies. You name them. His roommates enjoy his cooking that they hardly buy any lunches from the cafeteria.
“ITADAKIMASU!” the three friends exclaimed before beginning to eat their lunches.
As Yoake took a bit of her onigiri, she did a muffled squeal. “Oishii~!” she exclaimed after she swallowed it.
Tomokazu, who was eating his fried rice, let out a chuckle. “Glad you like it.”
“Seriously! This is awesome!” and it seems Yuugure is enjoying his yakisoba, Tomokazu hopes he won’t do it too much, otherwise he’ll choke.
Tomokazu let out another chuckle. “Slow down, dude. Don’t get yourself choke for eating to quickly.”
Yuugure slowed down a bit, let out a nervous chuckle as he scratches the back of his head. “G-Gomen. I’m mean, this is good stuff. I even like it how you mix curry in yakisoba, that I really enjoy the spiciness.” then, he continues eating the fried noodles.
Tomokazu let out a sigh and shook his head with a small smile, before he continues eating.
“So, how’s your new class. Senpai?” Yoake asked as she took one of the sushi to her mouth.
“Bullshit.”
“Anno, Aniki… did you cause any trouble… again?” Yuugure raised an eyebrow.
“…”
Yoake sighs, “Senpai, I told you not to get too violent.”
“Tch. Not my fault.” … well, technically it’s kind of his fault, but still. At least he said sorry to that idiot... well, he kinda said sorry. Mostly he did was "say sorry and quickly walk awaay before that idiot had a chance."
“Senpai… we’re just worried for you…you know what the principal told you… and we don’t want you get expelled… and we’re trying to help…”
Tomokazu looks away and wave his hand “Yeah, yeah. Whatever.” he unscrews the bottle cap and drinks his green tea.
Awkward silence, until Yuugure cleared his throat, hoping the change the subject to end the silence “A-Anyway, our new roommate is coming tonight.”
Yoake finally brightens up “Oh yeah! She’s coming! I can’t wait to meet her!” she turns to Tomokazu. “And you do remember that we throwing a party for her, Senpai!”
Tomokazu sighs after he finished his fried rice, “Do we have to?” he complained.
“C’mon! You promised!”
“Because you begged me to!” It’s true, Yoake is like the “Queen of Begging,” that she’ll have look of a lost puppy that many people will fall for. If not, then she proceeds to her next plan: beg constantly to annoy the Hell out of them until they finally give in.
She puffed her cheeks out, pouting “Senpai~!”
He sighs “Fine.”
Yoake giggles and claps her hands “Yay~! We’ll buy more party decoration~! While YOU buy more ingredients, maybe for Oden… or Teppanyaki… or both … or any other cuisines for tonight!”
Tomokazu stares blankly at his female Kohai, who continues bickering about decoration this and cooking that, he slowly turns to Yuugure “Watch her. Make sure she doesn’t buy too much and waste all the money.”
Yuugure smiles as he salutes to him “Aye aye, Sir!”
Tomokazu stares at Yuugure’s “salute,” then to Yoake’s constant bickering about the party setup. He then smiled, let out a chuckle as he shook his head. Lot of people think of him as a Jerkass; but not his friends, they know the true side of him. He’s like an older brother to them, and they’re like siblings he ever wanted. He crossed his arms behind his head and leaned against the tree, while the Asaban siblings talks about setting up the party. Tomokazu wonder what their new roommate will be like. Wonder if they get along, just like his roommate? He just wonders…
