- Determination/ Focused
- Houyi has a set goal. To fulfill a single wish of hers at all costs. It doesn't matter if she's stabbed, if her flesh is torn, if her mana is dangerously low, she will press forward. She will fight to the last breath if it means accomplishing her dream to be reunited with her loved one. and nothing will stand in her way.
- Compassionate
- She wasn't considered the hero of humanity for nothing. Her love for humans, in all forms, has caused her to go to great lengths to defend innocents. To the point where she can briefly forget about her own goals in favor dashing off to save the helpless. Could also be considered a character flaw. Due note, however, that she is a firm believer in "mercy killing" Make of that what you will.
- Soft spoken
- You wouldn't know it by watching her in action or by how focused she is, but her basic form is that of a soft spoken individual. She keeps to herself and rarely speaks, and when she does, it's usually in the form of a whisper. The girl has to practically scream just so that others can hear her speak.
- Self-conscious.
- Let's face it, your not going to walk around with both genders and not feel at least a little different from everyone else. Houyi's case is even worse given the size of her...gender and thus has developed a need for personal space to keep others from discovering her extra
limbgender. Her bubble, if you will. When people she's unfamiliar with, or even some people she is familiar with, get too close it causes her to become a tad edgy. It's not uncommon to find her sitting by herself in group meetings or eating at the other side of the table just to avoid contact with people. Naturally this personality trait works well with an archer, someone who really should be avoiding physical contact in battle in the first place, like her.
- Let's face it, your not going to walk around with both genders and not feel at least a little different from everyone else. Houyi's case is even worse given the size of her...gender and thus has developed a need for personal space to keep others from discovering her extra
LIKES: //
[li] Being an Archer
[/li][li] Practicing with the bow
[/li][li] Trick shooting.
[/li][li] Her wife
[/li][li] The moon
[/li][li] Rabbits
[/li][li] Humanity in general
DISLIKES: //
[/li][li] Melee combat
[/li][li] Monsters that harm Humans
[/li][li] Not being with her wife
[/li][li] Her lack of immortality
[/li][li] Dieing
STRENGTHS: //
[/li][li] Her skill at archery: Few could hope to reach her skill, dedication, and discipline when it comes to wielding the bow.
[/li][li] Her determination: Nothing will stand between her and her dream. Nothing. This determination also apparent in her high ranking Independent Action score. Not even the death of her master will stop her.
[/li][li] Her acrobatics: being able to dodge and avoid head on confrontations is a big must for someone so lacking in hand-to-hand combat skills. Also needed to avoid dragon tail swings and reach higher places.
WEAKNESSES: //
[/li][li] Her lack of skills at melee combat: comes with being specialized so heavily in archery. She can't fight in any sort of melee combat outside of trying to shoot an arrow point blank range (which usually goes horribly wrong if done). Even blocking efficiently is hard for her. She can, however, dodge and evade, having mastered acrobats as a form of filling in for this gap of ability.
[/li][li] Paranoia: Most will never get so see this side of her, and if she has it her way, none will. She can't stand the thought of not having a bow and arrow within her reach. She feels powerless if she's without her weapon of choice. Without it, her mindset will degrade into paranoia with just about everything around her being considered an enemy. Even her master is not safe from this. This personality shift was caused by Feng, who was considered at the time to be one of her greatest and most trustworthy pupils, murdering her.
[/li][li] Too focused: What is one of her greatest strengths is also one of her greatest weaknesses. Sometime Houyi is so focused on the thought of being with her wife that she sometimes loses sight of the big picture and has to constantly remind herself that she needs to be focused on the 'now' rather then on her potential future. And this behavior could lead to disastrous, if not deadly results.
[/li][li] Rabbits: for someone so focused on her goal, so quiet and soft spoken as a person, so determined and disciplined as an archer, to suddenly see her drop everything to cuddle a rabbit in glee can be quiet...disturbing. (though she tried to hold back with others present, with varying results. )

MY LEGEND en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houyi
MY HISTORY: //
Houyi's life began as a child born to the chieftain of the Dongyi tribe. Her life had been strange from the get go, being a child born with both male and female parts. Her father was unsure how to handle this situation. On one side, she could be raised as a boy who would one day succeed him as Chieftain of the tribe. On the other hand, she could be raised as his daughter and possibly be married off in hopes forging an alliance with neighboring tribes. In the end she was to be raised as a boy due to being an only child and thus the only heir her father had.
She then spent the next twenty years being raised as the next chieftain of the tribe. Horseback riding, hunting, gather, leading; all things were taught to her. But what really stood out was her archery. No man, nor god could hope to match her skill at the bow. It's said that her ability was so great that she even gained the attention of a few gods, who had given her a blessing of divinity in recognition of her talent. In the realm of mortals, she was acknowledged as the worlds greatest master at the bow and few dared to attack her or her tribe.
Her mythology begins with the tale of the Sun-birds, the offspring of Dijun, decided they were tired of the routine their father had set before them and all ten of the sun-birds rose from the mulberry tree they resigned in at once. The heat from their bodies was intense. Fields shriveled up, lakes dried up, and humanity cowered under their gaze. When the suffering had reached the breaking point, Yao, Emperor of China, pleaded to the heavens for divine intervention.
Dijun, aware of what his sons had done and the trouble they had brought humanity, called forth someone who could punish his children for their crimes. He then sent for Houyi, who's skill had been recognized by even the heavens, to deal with the Sun-birds. Originally, Houyi wanted to solve this problem peacefully and merely shot at the birds until they fled for their home. But as time grew on, she became more and more convinced that desperate measures were needed. She rose her bow and shot to kill, striking down nine of the ten Sun-birds in 9 single, well placed shots. She had planned on killing the tenth, and thus would have sent the world into eternal darkness, if Yao had not stopped her before she fired her arrow. Houyi stopped and was hailed as the hero of humanity. However, Her actions had caused her to make enemies in heaven and her limited divinity had been stripped from her by Dijun.
After shooting down the Sun-birds, and having her divinity striped from her, Houyi took notice of the monsters that had haunted humans and the chaos that had plagued the land. She left her tribe in hopes of ending these threats to humanity. It is here that her myth splits into multiple, smaller stories about her heroics.
First, how she dealt with Fei Lian, Count of the Winds. Fei was a spirit that took the form of a one-eyed bull with a snake for a tail. He had used his power over the winds to create storms that swept across the Middle Kingdom, destroying property and up rooting crops. When Houyi had discovered this, she immediately sent out to tame the beast. Fei, who was well aware of Houyi's skill at the bow, fled to his cave deep in the mountains and hid in a sack. She tracked the spirit back to it's cave and saw through the demons attempts to hide. She shot a single arrow at the sack, causing it to burst open and Fei to fly out. Fei took flight immediately in hopes of escaping the archers grasp, but Houyi shot it in the knee and the pain caused him to tumble to the earth. Fei surrendered to Houyi and promised not to cause anymore damage in exchange of keeping it's life. Houyi agreed.
Next, as Houyi was traveling the country she came across a river that had flooded into a nearby village. Realizing this was the work of a god, Houyi shot an arrow into the water. Soon the flood had receded and out from the waters sprung a minor god riding upon a white stallion, accompanied by several servants. Houyi managed to attack and wound the eye of the God before it managed to escape her aim. With the god out of her sight, Houyi moved on to the next target. Just before she fired the arrow, Houyi realized that the figure was just a harmless girl. This girl was Chang'e, the daughter of the water god that had fled. Enchanted by her beauty, houyi asked Chang to marry her on the spot. Chang'e agreed.
Next, Houyi dealt with a surge of monsters that had been destroying China. There was Chilsetooth, a giant that had been devouring innocents. Bashe, a water serpent that was disrupting the lakes. And the giant Woodbird, a monstrous creature that caused storms by merely flapping it's wings. One by one, Houyi fended off these beasts and for her efforts was awarded the title of Marquis Pacifier of the Country by the Emperor himself. It was at this time that she also unofficially gained the title of God of Archers.
Though she had accomplished much in her life and few things could strike fear into her heart, there was one subject that always made her nervous: Dieing. It was just something she couldn't accept, not reaching the level of skill and recognition she had over her life time. Houyi just didn't want to let that go. And there was the fear of what the gods would do to her if they got a hold of her weakened spirit. It was due to this constant fear of dieing as she grew older that she decided to go on a journey to obtain immortality.
She traveled to the palace of Xi Wang Mu, the Queen Mother of the West, her palace being located in the Kunlun mountains. Houyi was seeking the elixir of immortality that Xi possessed and begged the Queen Mother to give it to her. Xi, who took pity on Houyi, agreed to give Houyi the elixirs in exchange for building her a new palace. Houyi, who was a skilled architect, agreed. It took her a year of work, but she finally managed to construct the Queen Mother a palace to her liking. Xi awarded Houyi the elixirs as per their deal, but warned Houyi that they were the only two remaining elixirs in the world. Houyi planned to use them on herself and her wife.
After returning home, Houyi was given an urgent request by the Emperor to defend the land from monsters and she moved out in haste to answer Yoa's plead. In this haste, however, she made the mistake of not taking her elixir and even left them unguarded. Houyi had left for months on a crusade to kill demonic boars and dragons running rampage through the lands. And left her wife at home all lone without news of what happened to her.
In boredom, Chang'e had found and drank both of the elixirs that Houyi had brought home. It was at that moment that Houyi arrived home only to see that her wife was ascending to the moon. She tried to save Chang'e but naught. Chang'e was doomed to live forever as an immortal on the moon with only rabbits to keep her company.
Having lost her wife, Houyi's attitude took a complete 180 flip. Her once loving and compassionate attitude turned cold and distant. She became bitter, angry and hateful in general. She had transformed into a tyrant nearly overnight. Now, Houyi had taught her archery skills to an unparalleled number of students over time, with one student standing out among the rest: Feng Meng. Feng had been a boy that descended from the very same tribe Houyi herself had come from. And like her, Feng showed remarkable skill at the bow and had eventually come to see himself as her equal. He changed his master to a competition of the bow and Houyi easily beat him. Houyi mocked her student afterward, claiming that he would never match her talent.
It was due to this humiliation that Feng Meng decided to murder his master. He justified this betrayal with Houyi's current tyranny. One day, during a routine hunting trip, Feng struck down Houyi with a club. He then proceeded to beat her to death. After her death, it's said that she ascended to the sun and built a palace there. In death, Houyi came to represent (along with her wife) both yin and yang.
MY GOALS: // To be reunited with her wife.

[/blockquote]
Nameless bow: A bow that was crafted by Houyi at a young age. There's nothing particularly special about it, save for the sentimental value.
Emperor Yao (pictured above): A nameless bow given to her by Dijun in order to shoot his sons. Houyi named it after the Emperor at the time. Originally, this bow had the ability to not only produce an infinite amount of arrows, but also allowed Houyi to shoot an arrow at anything she could see without the arrows being effect by the distance (aka, range no longer applied to her arrows). Because even if she was the best archer in the world, without a bow capable of hitting the targets her skill would be useless.
Being summoned as a spirit for the war has downgraded the bow. She still retains the infinite arrow perk of wielding this bow but has lost the ability to disregard range. She can now only shoot about as far as her eyes can see (With clairvoyance, it's around 4kms)
NOBLE PHANTASM: //
It should be noted that only Emperor Yao has the strength to handle these techniques, while Houyi's personally crafted bow can not.
Enhanced shooting: Archery at it's finest
Rank: B
Type: Support.
Max target: 1
This is a simple Noble phantasm developed by Houyi as a way to give her arrows the needed strength to pierce demon/dragon hide. Upon activation, Houyi has to wait exactly one turn for the Noble phantasm to take effect (and during this turn she can not fire arrows from the bow being charged). After that turn has past, every shot she's made from her bow will count as a B rank noble phantasm, as well as cost as much. While it takes a turn for the NP to take effect, she can easily cancel it and fire a normal shot within the same turn. After canceling, there is a required turn cool down before the NP can be used once more (so including the charge up time, two turns in between cancellation and reactivating). This skill is immediately canceled when activating Marquis Pacifier.
Marquis Pacifier: 9 Shots that calmed the Heavens.
Rank: A/A+++
Type: Support/Anti-
Max target: 9
This skill stems from Houyi's legend, her greatest legend, centered around the nine shoots that killed the Sun-birds. Her skill and dedication with the bow made apparent if only through this technique alone. This ability manifests into a supped up version of Enforced shooting, which gives all arrows shot from the bow A in rank. The A+++ comes from shooting all 9 arrows at one target consecutively, at a speed so blindingly fast that all 9 arrows would narrowly hit at the same time. Like Enhanced shooting, this skill requires a charge up time of a single turn to use before she can begin firing off her arrows. However, unlike Enhanced Shooting, this only lasts for a single turn with a two turn cool down time. Also, when activated the range limitation placed on Houyi is removed during the duration of this Noble Phantasm.
Every individual arrow shot is worth in cost to a A noble phantasm save for when shooting all 9 arrows at once. In which case the entire attack only costs as much as 1 A+++ rank NP. The reason for this is that the individual shots are breaking away from her myth of 9 shots, and as such is penalized in the form of increased costing (aka, firing 4+ individual shots costs more then firing 9 shots at one time). So in that way, it costs less to fire 9 shots at once rather then use individual attacks.
There are ways to counter this skill, naturally. First, anything that provides one with protection and is on the Rank of A. Doesn't matter what it is, armor/shield/magic/etc. As long as the defensive technique is at Rank A, they are able to resist this attack. The defense might be destroyed in the attack, mind you. Second, as the Sun-birds of lore weren't exactly the fastest of creatures, any individual with A or above rank in Agility has the ability to dodge this attack. It wouldn't be automatic dodging. You'd still have to make the dodge believable in writing, but the option is still there none the less.
This Noble phantasm can be shot, at max power, once in combat before needing to recharge. Sure, she might be able to pull off one or two individual shots maybe, but as is she's already low on prana after using it once at full strength. If she some how managed those individual shots, she'd be clinging to any prana leftover for dear life.
CLASS ABILITIES: //

Independent Action: A
A: It is possible take action even without a Master. However, to use Noble Phantasms of great prana consumption, back up from the Master is necessary.
Magic Resistance: B
B: Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for her to be affected.
SKILLS: //
Bow Mastership
Prevents degradation of fighting skills when under the effect of mental hindrance.
A+: Mastership of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivaled in one's era. By complete merging of mind, body and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance.
Protection from Arrows
Increased defense against ranged attacks by predicting the projectile trajectory through exceptional means such as hearing the sound of air being cut or sensing the killing intent of the enemy.
B+: As long as the shooter is within her line of sight, she can track down ranged weapons with her eyes and defend against them. Does not apply for attacks made with a great area-of -effect (super long range attacks can be tracked and blocked thanks to Clairvoyance.)
Heart of Harmony
Prevents decrease in the effectiveness of a technique, regardless how many times it is used against the same opponent.
B: Attacks cannot be perceived by the enemy.
Clairvoyance
Superior visual perception. Supplement long-range aiming and increases dynamic vision. Furthermore, at higher ranks it is possible to acquire precognition ("see into the future") and other forms of perception that are beyond normal eyesight (X-ray vision and the sorts).
C: Capable of keeping track of fast-moving object within a range of 4kms
