- A man of action
- People have this seemingly natural need of talking on the battlefield. Whether it be insults, begging, pleading, cursing, signaling, etc; they're always making some kind of noise. And making it easier to mark as targets. Goemon, learning from their mistakes, keeps his mouth shut in a fight. He'd rather be using that energy to stab the enemy anyway.
- Sarcastic
- Goemon has seen a lot in his life time. Murder, tax collectors, unholy creatures from another realm, etc. He developed a way to cope with these horrible events by sprinkling them with sarcasm. He just can't help it. He'll even break his rule of keeping silent during a fight if the potentially for a joke is strong enough. It only intensified when he became a servant. I mean, who doesn't love a good joke?
- Neutral
- He cares little for alignments. Good? Evil? These things are perspective. There are only four kinds of people to him: The master, the target(s), civilians, and loved ones. He does not judge, he does not question a mans action. Goemon merely accepts that they made a choice, and depending on what choice Goemon may or may not be ordered to kill them. It's nothing personal, after all.
- Kind
- For those rare individuals who aren't marked as targets and/or take the time to get to know him, they'll find that Goemon is a very kind man. On the field, he was a shinobi of renown. A man that wouldn't hesitate to take your life if you got between him and his target. But at home, he was a Daddy. A man that cherished his family more then anything. It was this love that drove Goemon to attack Toyotomi Hideyoshi and get himself killed in the process.

STRENGTHS: //
Speed, strength, agility, patience; Goemons training has honed him into a killing machine. His knowledge, his skill, his experience serves him well on the battlefield. He is a man that is one with the shadows, moving freely from one to another. He doesn't hesitate, he acts. He is a killer, there are no two ways about it. And he expresses himself via thrusting a sharp object straight into the targets vital area. Something he's very, very good at.
WEAKNESSES: //
Goemon can be a loyal servant, obediently serving his master and following their orders (with a sarcasm tossed around as he does so), but he has opinions. And he will make his opinions know. If he feels that what his master is doing is the wrong course of action, he will disregard the order in favor of what he feels appropriate. Even if it causes the deaths of those around them. Unless a command spell is used on him, that is.
Another thing about him is his fear of oil. After being boiled alive, he's developed a phobia of it. Being anywhere near oil makes him nervous, and god help him if he ever gets covered in it.

MY LEGEND: // en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishikawa_Goemon
MY HISTORY: //
Goemon lived a life revolved around taking someone's head, or stabbing them in the face, or just brutally killing them in general. He began life as Sanada Kuroanoshin, and was born into a Samurai family. They worked in service to the Miyoshi clan in the Iga Provence, and Goemon was trained in the art of Bugei Juhappan, the japanese warrior skill set. Discipline, drills, manners, warfare; these kinds of things were taught to him daily. Until, that is, his father was killed by Ashikaga Shogunate in battle.
A fifteen year old Goemon sword vengeance against this man for what he had done. He knew, however, that he did not stand a chance against Ashikaga if the man had defeated his father in battle. Not as a Samurai, at least. He left his life as a warrior in favor of training in the way of the Shinobi. Most of the teachings in Ninjutsu skills were things that he had already known, and they helped to improve on those abilities. He was taught Ninjutsu magic, abilities and skills that allowed him fight against 'special' enemies. Unfortunately, during his training, Goemon had caught the eye of one of his masters mistresses. She tried to seduce him, and when Goemon refused, she told his master that Goemon had raped her. Enraged, the man chased Goemon from the training grounds (but not before Goemon stole his masters prized sword, a punishment for so easily believing the word of a whore).
Goemon moved on to Kansei, a neighboring region, where he was taken by surprise and assaulted by a group of shinobi who thought he was one of the bandits that had preyed on lords in the area. He was saved by said bandits and met their leader soon after, being escorted to a secure location in the mountains. The man was simple and honest, wanting to do everything in his power to help the poor of Japan. It was this fact that made Goemon swear allegiance on the spot. Goemon would become the figurehead of the bandits, acting as their leader. It was also here that he dropped his former name in favor of Ishikawa Goemon.
A lot of things happened during 18 year service to his master. Espionage, theft, assassinations, sabotage, coups, demon slaying; many things took place over the course of his servitude. Like finding the love of his life, a priestess he had saved from a ritual sacrifice. The woman quickly feel in love with her rescuer, and chased Goemon around the country side until he finally caved in. Slowly, and surely, he came to cherish his time with her. Eventually, they were blessed with a child.
Unfortunately, those days of happiness would soon end. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a warlord that was trying to wipe away opposition against him, targeted Goemon and his family. He killed Goemon's wife and kidnapped his son while Goemon was on mission. Upon discovering this, Goemon was enraged. He thought he had lost his entire family. His master had ordered Goemon to not attack Toyotomi, knowing that it would lead to the mans death, but Goemon didn't care. He wanted blood. Slipping into castle at night, he made his way to Toyotomi's room. Now, usually Goemon would be able to avoid simple things, detection devices and traps but in his blind rage he only thought of killing the Warlord that had slain his family. This is what lead to him triggering a magical incense burner.
The entire castle was alerted to his presence but Goemon didn't care. He continued to try and kill Toyotomi, chasing him around the castle and slaughtering anyone stupid enough to try to stop him. When Toyotomi realized that it was Goemon that was trying to kill him, he ordered that Goemon's son be brought to the court yard. Showing him that his child was at knife point, Goemon had finally come to his senses. He struck a deal with Toyotomi, his head in exchange of his child going free. Naturally, he was lied too and was only informed of this after they shackled him with magical restraints. Goemon and his child was to be boiled alive as punishment for attacking the warlord.
Goemon, who was thrown into the oil before his son, caught his child as he was tossed in and held him out of harms way. Goemon was desperate to save his child, holding him above the oil, even if he knew that he would eventually die and his boy would fall in. It was only at the last moment, when his fellow bandits lead by his master stormed the castle, that his boy was rescued. Goemon, knowing that his son was safe, finally let himself die.
MY GOALS: // Another chance at life.
[/blockquote]
Blessed sword - A sword with no name, it was simply a holy blade that was favored by his master. Goemon stole it as revenge against his master for believing the mistress over Goemon. It was because of this sword that Goemon was able to fight and kill the few demons he had encountered in his life time.
Knives - The easiest way to kill someone is to stab them in the face. At a distance. With knives, and the appropriate skill at using them, one could kill their target without even getting close. Though these are small blades, they are deadly in the right hands. Those hands belonging to Goemon. Total amount of Knives are 45.
Bombs/Gloves - During the Sengoku era, gunpowder was starting to come into existence. As muskets and bombs were crafted soon after to harness the explosive power. Goemon's bombs are just simple, round balls full of gunpowder with a piece of rope sticking out of the top. The gloves Goemon wears are rough on the palms and finger tips so that he can create enough friction to light the bombs fuse. Light it, stick it somewhere, and let it go boom. Not much use against a servant, really, but useful for setting off a certain Noble Phantasm...The total amount of bombs he has is ten.
NOBLE PHANTASM: //
Ninjutsu art: Replication - From air to flesh
Rank C
Type: Support
Max target: Self
The ninja art of creating clones of ones self, a trick the has amused and been loved by countless people for centuries. The concept of one becoming many, and using numbers to their advantage. Something that Goemon himself has employed countless times to overwhelm opponents that were better at direct combat. Using the Ninjutsu magic arts of a Shinobi, Goemon is able to create multiple copies of himself to assist him. Whether it be in battle, or reconnaissance, or he just needs help moving something, the clones can provide assistance for him. Only five clones may be made at one time.
This technique does not come without downsides. One thing to consider is how each clone will lose stats, to the point of being nearly canon fodder. They also lose a rank in all Class and Persona skills, save for Expert of many Specializations. Using the Noble Phantasm again will cancel out the previously made clones. The clones are unable to use Noble Phantasms, being nothing more then a shell created to serve the original. If the clones have not been killed within ten turns of being created, they will poof out of existence themselves. Replication does not copy the effects of Ninjutsu art: Boost.
Clone stats.

Ninjutsu art: Boost - Giving an edge to the edgeless
Rank E
Type: Support
Max Target: Self (equipment)
A skill to provide a killing edge to even the most basic of weapons. At times, Goemon could have very well had trouble piercing the enemies defense with basic daggers or could not slash them with his blade. Not as they were. By using this technique, he was able to improve his weapons on the battlefield and give himself the needed tool to slay his targets. Any weapon can attain Rank E Noble phantasm status via this NP and will be treated as one for as long as the Boost lasts.
Like all techniques, this has cons to go with it's pros. The technique will only last for three turns (not including the turn it was boosted). Also, for things like daggers, it requires repeated boosting to the individual blades. There is no "group" boosting version of this ability. Only one weapon can be boosted per turn.
Ninjutsu art: Unnatural hazy mist - Everything's in flames
Rank: A
Type: Anti-unit
Max Target: Anyone
Using his collective knowledge of traps and Ninjutsu arts, Goemon was able to create an art dedicated to a single purpose - exploding. It was a simple, effective way of taking out a group of enemies without risking oneself in the process. He created Ninjutsu art: Unnatural hazy mist, which revolved around the concept of blowing up the enemy. The technique itself involves creating a thick mist with a slightly blueish tint to it. The mist itself is highly flammable, and a single spark can set it off to cause major explosion. The mist, due to it's magical nature, is anchored to the spot it was cast at (as in, you can't blow it away. The Mist will spread itself out naturally to cover a wide area). It can be dispelled by a powerful enough magic, though said magic must be the same rank as the NP.
What was once used on the men of the past can not be used on the servants of today. Well, it can be, but unless the servant has some unnatural fire weakness then it's not likely to cause any real damage to them. The usefulness of this technique comes from killing masters, specifically masters that have overprotective servants that can fight off or catch Assassin before he strikes. Any master that steps a few feet into it can be burned to the crisp when the technique is set off. It simply relies on a Master deciding to push forward or get too curious, and that a Master is still human regardless of how powerful their magic gets.
That said, there are still downsides to this technique. For one thing, the mist does not discriminate. Anyone caught in it when it goes off gets hit with the full force of the blast. No exceptions. Two, the blueish tint gives away the magical nature of the mist and as such can be avoided if the potential victims notice this. Unless close enough to the mist that Goemon can set it off and still hit them with it. They're more likely to survive this, however. Finally, three, Goemon can only use this NP once or twice before he's nearly drained himself of prana. It's an expensive skill, and can't be spammed by him. If nothing has happened to the mist in 15 turns, then its magical properties fade and it becomes a regular old mist.
CLASS ABILITIES: //
Presence Concealment: A+ (Clones have Rank B+ Presence Concealment)
A+: It is possible to disappear completely and become almost impossible to be detected. However, efficacy will decrease once preparations to attack are taken.
In his previous life, his most well known assassination was the one he failed. Where he was then caught and then boiled alive. This was due to a slip up he made in his anger, a fluke, which lead to him screwing up and being found out. Usually, he's near impossible to find when he keeps to the shadows.
SKILLS: //
Expert of Many Specializations: A+ (Clones still keep the A+)
Access to and use of many expert skills.
A Shinobi is trained in two kinds of Ninjutsu, Skill and Magical. Magical is obvious, being what gave them the now well-known super powers of today's modern version of ninja (instead of being the well-kept secrets of the individual clans as they were in the past). Skill, however, is an education given to all it's clan members in regards to martial arts and strategies of unconditional warfare. There were 16 skill sets taught to him in Ninjutsu: Spiritual Refinement, unarmed combat, Sword techniques, Stick and staff techniques, spear techniques, kusarigama techniques, throwing weapon techniques, pyrotechnics, disguise and impersonation, stealth and entering methods, horsemanship, water training (swimming, mainly), espionage, escaping and concealment, meteorology, and geography. He was also taught outside of Ninjutsu, like how to use herbs and medicines. All of this has been drilled into him relentlessly and he can remember most of it with ease.
Not only this, but also the 16 Bugei Juhappan, the samurai skill set, that was drilled into him at a young age. Swordsmanship, sword drawing, spear fighting, archery, mounted archery, polearm fighting, arresting weapons, hidden weapons, unarmed combat, blade throwing, musketry, information gathering, fortifications, signaling, and strategy and tactics. His lessons in Ninjutsu helped him to remember and refine many of the techniques he had received from his training in Bugei Juhappan. He is a very knowledgeable person.
Heart of Harmony: B (Clones have C rank Heart of Harmony)
Prevents decrease in the effectiveness of a technique, regardless how many times it is used against the same opponent.
There are more then two ways to skin a cat, and many more ways to kill someone. A technique is like a weapon given form through ones actions. The flow of the body, the posture one has as they prepare to strike, the manner in which the action is carried out, etc. Even the tiniest movements are taken into account when striking someone down, no unneeded movements used or extra energy lost. One is a killing machine, sometimes the body seems mechanical but it is more then just a center with limbs, it is a whole. A unified, hardened weapon with the sole purpose of killing the enemy, Swift, powerful, silent; the effectiveness of his technique is never lost.
Subversive Activities: A (Clones have B rank Subversive Activities)
A: The capability to lay traps meant to dimisnish the opponent's strength before battle. Traps laid may reduce opponent's combat effectiveness by nearly 60%.
Sometimes, to kill a man, one didn't need to slit their throat personally. Sometimes, all one needed to do was find the right location and set the right trap. As a Shinobi Goemon was trained in the art of trap making. Complicated, time consuming, effective. Many times Goemon need not wait for the victim to die in his traps, merely setting them and heading off to report a missions success. He was that confident in his ability, for good reason.
Projectile (Daggers): B (clones have C rank Projectile Daggers)
Expertise for throwing projectile weapons (in this case daggers).
A simple but effective way of killing a man is throwing a knife into his throat. or into his heart. or into his lungs. Humans are frail creatures, unable to live if cut or stabbed by even the tiniest amount. Goemon has perfected this technique, striking at a distance via swiftly throwing knives at the targets vital organs. It made his job as an assassin easier, as few men of the Sengoku era could handle having a knife thrown into their face. Also, ninja.
